01/06/2026: We were thrilled from beginning to end. Friendly service and fantastic food! It was the best lasagna ever, and the tortellini tartufo was also superb, as was the house wine. A simple, authentic place. We were sad we only discovered it on our last evening; otherwise, we would have gone back. Grazie!

19/05/2026: A friendly place, run with extreme kindness and friendliness. The perceived quality is good and the prices are fair. I only notice a few inconsistencies in the pricing: like the (exceptional) French fries served in large quantities for 6 euros, while for the same price, if you order grilled vegetables, you'll get 6 slices of zucchini... I also suggest replacing the plastic water bottles with glass ones. Otherwise, everything is very good.

03/05/2026: My worst experience in Abruzzo was at this very restaurant. I went there this weekend with a group of friends and the food was terrible. The service was completely incompetent, the menu was meager, and the selection was limited. We opted for the arrosticini, which everyone raves about, but they were a total disappointment: truly inedible. The worst, however, came at the checkout: the owner was rude and arrogant, convinced he was friendly but simply out of place. I even went to the bathroom and the situation was terrible: dirt everywhere, truly questionable hygiene. The overall atmosphere is old, neglected, and absolutely not up to the price tag. It was the first time and will certainly be the last. I hope the authorities investigate, because it's absurd that a place in this condition can remain open. I can't give less than one star, otherwise I would have gladly done so!!!!

23/12/2025: Rustic, welcoming, and rustic. Dinner with delicious traditional appetizers and incredibly delicious arrosticini. Friendly, knowledgeable, and top-notch staff! Best arrosticini in the area!

01/05/2026: Ten of us went for lunch, and from the à la carte menu, the waitress advised us not to order a single course because the portions were so generous that we wouldn't have eaten everything. She was right. From the appetizers to the first courses, everything was delicious, and the mixed grill with sliced ​​steak and side dishes almost all of us gave up. However, if they had offered the classic homemade cake for dessert, I wouldn't have refused it. In the end, the per-person cost was around €30. The restaurant is located at the foot of the twin mountains, with a large park, children's playground, and parking. The spacious upper floor is suitable for large functions, but in the warmer months, outdoor tables are available under enormous gazebos. From Wednesday to Sunday, there's a pizzeria, and during the day, there's self-service restaurant.

15/03/2026: It was a negative experience in this restaurant. We booked the table. It wasn't ready, they forgot. They brought us hot appetizers, practically a minimal part, and told us that they had run out in the kitchen. The first courses weren't bad, but the second courses, meat and lamb, I didn't like, and we still paid €50 per person without desserts because no one else came to our table. Very poor service. We will never go back.

04/05/2026: I ate here today and I can say it was a wonderful discovery! The restaurant offers truly authentic home cooking, the kind that makes you feel right at home. Each dish was carefully crafted, flavorful, and prepared with quality ingredients: you can really taste their passion for what they do. A great asset are definitely the owners, extremely kind and attentive, who create a welcoming, family-like atmosphere that makes the experience even more enjoyable. Plus, the quality-price ratio is excellent: you can eat very well without spending too much, which is no longer a given. Highly recommended for those looking for authentic flavors and a warm, authentic atmosphere. I will definitely be back!

15/05/2026: Unfortunately, my experience at this restaurant was decidedly negative. There were two of us, and we ordered: A portion of prosciutto al taglio; A portion of fried cheese (unfortunately, it arrived cold); A first course of fettuccine with artichokes and pecorino cheese; A rare steak; Two side dishes of chicory (so bitter it was inedible, almost all of it left on the plate); Sparkling water and a small bottle of house wine (not particularly high-quality). No dessert, no coffee. The main problem, besides the inconsistent quality of the dishes, was the final bill: 80 euros. An absolutely disproportionate amount for what we ate and the type of service provided. To make matters worse, the payment was made without a receipt, something I unfortunately didn't ask for at the time due to my inattention, but which I find unprofessional. I would have expected more transparency given such a high price for an otherwise ordinary dinner. An experience not to be repeated. I won't go back there again.

01/05/2026: A beautiful location surrounded by greenery, the room (at least ours) wasn't great... quite the opposite. But the food is top-notch, in fact, I'd say very top-notch! Everything from the appetizers to the first courses to the meats is top-notch! Definitely worth trying again if I'm in the area again. Wide selection of wines and very friendly owners.

31/05/2026: We waited to sit down, we waited to order, we asked for the Ascolana olives and they were finished, the chiacchiere with the prosciutto and they were finished, we ordered the arrosticini (1.70 each) and after about 30 minutes the waitress told us... sorry, they're finished!!!

14/08/2025: It's clear that the bar is still a desperate attempt to squeeze money from its regulars. The service leaves much to be desired, especially when the waitress, apparently in her eighties, is on duty. Most of the regulars avoid the bar as soon as she's on duty. Her disgruntled attitude certainly doesn't inspire anyone to linger there for a coffee. I've often heard regulars complain that she's arrogant and even offensive when it suits her. Every year, the bar loses its atmosphere and quality. Besides the miserable state of the bathroom, it's clear that the bar is only surviving thanks to the presence of older customers, who continue to support it financially. The owners apparently have no interest in investing or changing anything in this bar. It's sad that a beautiful town like Colonnella is decaying like this. Well, a bar is never alone in this town. A story about us: A few days ago, my husband and I were at the bar, and an incident bordering on the ridiculous occurred. We were speaking to each other in German, and a German family nearby apparently overheard some inappropriate language, which, given the presence of their children, they didn't like. We didn't know whether there were other German-speaking people nearby. However, the co-owner pointed out to my friend, an Italian and longtime regular, that German tourists had complained. My friend approached them and said in German that he didn't know there were Germans present and that children of that age (it was almost 11 p.m.) should be in bed by now. The woman's German partner stood up and almost raised his hands (his first mistake). The employees, unable to assess the situation and apparently devoid of any real emotion in their lives, called the owner. The latter, also lacking social skills, raised his voice at my friend and became aggressive. When the eighty-year-old waitress (N.) tried to talk about us to a retired police officer present, my friend asked her to stop. At that point, the German tourist, who has an aggressive problem and loves to raise his hands, approached my friend and grabbed him by the neck (second mistake). Since my friend is used to such situations, he did nothing, because whoever raises their hand first starts. The retired police officer warned the German tourist that he would be arrested if he didn't calm down. The incompetent employees, who apparently couldn't find any other job besides this, called the owner, who banned my friend from the establishment. Banning a longtime regular who expresses his opinion without becoming aggressive is highly reprehensible. The employees are probably incapable of assessing situations objectively and choose the path of least effort. 100% incompetence. Form your own opinion, but this bar will have one less customer now. PS: The waitress (N.) would be better off asking for her pension rather than venting her dissatisfaction on the customers and the village residents. She's damaging the bar's image. No one comes for her. Many come for the owner, but after this story, even his likability is in question.
