25/06/2025: Rustic, pleasant environment but a little too full of objects therefore dusty, spartan but courteous service, the cuisine is home-made but not very careful about quality

28/05/2025: My husband and I spent a few days in Ortona. La Vecchia Lanterna was a pleasant surprise. Excellent food: cheese and egg balls, arrosticini, cutting board. Very helpful staff.

18/03/2025: It is believed that the owner of the place is also the owner of the sand and beach. If you are not a customer he will chase you from the beach and if you use the metal detector (which is totally legal in Italy) he becomes a despicable being and your bitter enemy forever. A character to avoid 😂

03/05/2025: Very tasty, exceptionally tasty "aperitif". Everything freshly prepared. We didn't know what to expect as there was no map either and we were very glad we gave it a try. Even without knowledge of Italian. The waiters and the chef explained it to us in a very friendly and understandable way. There was pasta, pea soup with sweet and sour onions, cutting board with cheese and ham, bread with olive oil and salt, meatballs. Italian tapas? We love it! ♥

11/06/2025: Bad experience at this place, arrosticini not cooked well, 4 slices of toasted bread, 23 arrosticini, two beers, one medium and another small, end of dinner. The exaggerated bill, 45 euros, not in line with the service. Unpleasant smell, probably of sweat in the room, perhaps left by the public. Not recommended.

08/06/2025: First time in the restaurant, excellent and abundant food, very good service. large and spacious outdoor restaurant with a maxi screen available, possibility to choose whether to stay in the internal room or in the outdoor space. Courteous and kind staff. We recommend, especially to those who love to eat good meat. We will be back

Cenone di capodanno con menù ricco, genuino e ottimo, con richiesta economica onestissima. Non mi era mai successo di emozionarmi per come siamo stati trattati sin dalla prenotazione telefonica..... 26/12/2024: In giro per Roccaraso e dintorni l’ho trovato per caso , esperienza straordinaria per cucina, accoglienza, una atmosfera familiare in cui ci si immerge immediatamente, il tutto accompagnato da piatti con sapori autentici abruzzesi. Consigliatissmo!

The pizza I ordered was cooked to perfection, with a soft and light dough that melted in your mouth. The toppings were fresh and tasty, and the flavor was balanced and harmonious. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the service was fast and efficient. The place was clean and tidy, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. What struck me the most was the quality of the ingredients used. You could tell they had been chosen with care and attention, and the end result was truly excellent. The price was reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food, and I'm sure I'll be back soon to try other pizzas. In fact, I've already recommended Pizzeria Freekete to all my friends and family! Overall, I can say that Pizzeria Freekete is one of the best pizzerias I've ever tried.
