12/05/2025: We have been coming for years and have also stayed under the establishment, but as far as the menu is concerned, we have always found perfection here! Dishes always of the highest level, refined, with elaborate mixes, mouth-watering. Everything is spectacular, especially the raw ones. Impeccable, professional and fast service. Very relaxing, elegant and pleasant environment. Good prices! I didn't photograph everything because the desire to taste prevailed! Always at the top!!!

05/04/2025: The professionalism of all the staff; Education Availability and No less impeccable cleanliness The love and passion for their profession can be found in their dishes cooked in an excellent manner with quality products and masterfully plated. Thank you for the welcome and help given to our group of 52 people. The cake was nothing short of wonderful!!!

28/07/2025: È il secondo anno di fila che torno a Villetta Barrea e la tappa ormai è diventata d'obbligo, il ristorante è centralissimo, location calorosa e casareccia, lo staff è gentilissimo e Mauro veramente simpatico e disponibile, il cibo è favoloso, sono ritornato per le tagliatelle con scaglie di tartufo e sono fantastiche!!! Consiglio vivamente a tutti!

27/07/2025: If you want to taste Abruzzo, you have to stop by Mauro's. We booked almost by chance, intrigued by the rich and promising menu... and we can say with certainty that it was a more than perfect choice! We were greeted with rare kindness and helpfulness: the waiter, with his sweetness and professionalism, made us feel truly at home. We started with an appetizer of game and local cheeses: an explosion of authentic flavors, with a special mention for the ricotta, simply incredible. Next, the mixed roast cooked over beech wood embers was a triumph of flavor, perfectly cooked, and irresistible aroma. During our week in Abruzzo, we had the opportunity to try several restaurants, all excellent, but here you can breathe and savor the true soul of the region. It's impossible not to want to return. And indeed... we did! To take home not only the flavors, but also the memory of an authentic and unforgettable experience. We love arrosticini!!! Congratulations indeed. A grill restaurant that deserves 5 stars!

20/08/2025: A family-run restaurant with plenty of seating and limited staff. Welcoming staff. Very good on stockfish dishes. Generally authentic food and affordable prices. The location is out of the way but accessible from the A2 motorway, Bagnara Calabra exit. From the exit, the restaurant is about 15 minutes' drive along hilly/mountainous roads.

13/07/2025: Ci abbiamo mangiato a pranzo per un compleanno. Locale: bello da vedere, ma dentro è un po’ antico, tranne la veranda. Cibo: buona qualità, ma non ottima.

01/07/2025: On an organized evening where the entrance fee was €38 with a €2 presale fee if you bought it online I went hungry. The ticket purchase included entrance and a buffet dinner with unlimited drinks until 11pm. Poorly organized in the distribution of food, endless lines of hours to get a bunch of 3 arrosticini, even half an hour of line for fried food, with minimal portions. The wallet pizza had strong tomato sauce 🍅 and the crostini seemed to be from the day before. They didn't take into account intolerances at all. I had already been there years ago and I left hungry that time too. Most of the people were drunk because they could drink but couldn't eat. I trusted them but nothing has changed since a few years ago... I'm so sorry...because the location is spectacular...

03/07/2025: The gluten-free Pinsa Regina (a round Margherita) was terrible. Thick, poorly cooked pasta and lots of tomato, a puree just out of the jar, a bit warm. For 1 person it cost €16 because it's gluten-free. Excessive price! But if only it were expensive but well-decorated and precise in the service... instead my pinsa/pizza arrived after having served me one with gluten (even though we had talked about it well in fact I also asked for gluten-free beer which they don't have), the other pinsa was served on the already very skimpy plastic cutting board, used for a long time. So: bad pizza/Pinsa, absurd price, service error, they have gluten-free food but not beer, you eat on old plastic cutting boards, the outdoor area is as anonymous as there is. I ended up there because on Sunday evening I couldn't find anything else. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. I'm sorry I didn't contest the bill at the time but sometimes you're tired, hot and I had no choice.

07/05/2025: Great Pinsa with a very delicious dough. They are very friendly to students and it has a great feel if you are there with many friends.

29/06/2025: Definitely suitable for parties and ceremonies with large spaces. Good food, average, nothing spectacular, there is Abruzzo tradition but it could be done better. Fairly clean and tidy environment and excellent service. I would definitely remove many flat ornaments. The bathroom fixtures are a bit retro and unfortunately, very often you see them clean at the beginning of the service and then you totally forget about it until the end if something is missing.

19/08/2025: Inedible food starting from the starters where the ravioli were sour, the meat tough, the side dishes, specifically the green beans, were flavourless, the bread smelled of yeast which tainted the dessert which tasted of detergent... highly not recommended!

16/02/2025: Very welcoming place and friendly staff. The frozen yogurt is delicious, so much so that my sister and I go to Ortona just to eat it. the only problem is that the place is often closed and so you have to call to find out if it is open. For the rest, nothing to say. we love chicken frozen yogurt❤️
