02/02/2025: I recently visited this restaurant, which I know was featured in "4 Restaurants", and was very impressed. The place is warm, welcoming and every detail is well taken care of. One of the most beautiful things are the antique ski equipment applied to the walls, which add a touch of originality and history to the environment. The menu is rich and varied, with so many options that you are truly spoiled for choice. I had a hard time deciding what to order because I wanted to try everything! The dishes are of high quality, well prepared and very tasty. In particular, the venison tartare impressed me positively. Only note about the apple fritters, which unfortunately seemed a little too greasy and covered the delicate flavor of the apples. As for the price, I find it fair for the quality of the food we ate. A detail that really struck me and made the difference: when we booked, we had communicated that there was an 8 year old girl with us, and upon our arrival they made us find a placemat to color and some pencils on the table, a gesture that entertained the little girl while we ate. Absolutely recommended! I will definitely be back to try other delights on the menu.

31/01/2025: All was great and we enjoyed every minute of our dinner there. Dishes were delicious, same as wine. Service was at the top, as always there. What I would improve - dessert, we tried tiramisu and amarena- not bad, but at Mondschein we expected a bit more interesting taste. Was a bit basic

25/02/2025: A nice place (pizzeria), quite crowded because they make good pizza at reasonable costs. You can eat for €10 - €20 per person. I ordered Carnia pizza - very good - and a dark 🍺 with a cost of €15.

08/02/2025: Positive note, good tasty dishes, excellent quality, good service, friendly and kind staff. Negative note, the place is too small and narrow, in my opinion the bill was not in line with what we consumed. Unfortunately we realized late that while eating with a 1 and a half year old baby they had counted 3 place settings, but we only had cutlery and napkins for 2 people, I don't know what the third place setting included. €7 for a modest platter of cooked ham and €1.50 for a smooth coffee seem a lot to me. Total expense having practically eaten for two, €56, the menu consumed is practically everything in the photo adding 1 coffee and 750ml of water.

10/02/2025: Comfortable environment and interesting location. In summer you can practically get there by car, but it's better to take the nature trail on foot. In winter the road is also fine, as it is closed to cars; It's a good "walk" to do. There are uphill sections that are never too steep, but often icy. Please remember to bring your crampons (come on! they don't cost that much). Even if you manage to get there uphill, then downhill, we (who have crampons) will also save you and help you get back down, but do you want to have a little head next time too?...the strudel is excellent and the brulet is even better...

12/02/2025: We tried their restaurant for lunch during a winter holiday. Rustic and very nice place immersed in old Sappada. The dishes and the quality of the raw materials are excellent and reflect the Friulian culinary tradition. Good service.

26/01/2025: Excellent farmhouse with local food and satisfactory service. We tried both the first and second courses and remained totally satisfied. Light but pleasant house Merlot, therefore 55 stars absolutely deserved considering the price €35 per person, leaving totally satisfied

10/02/2025: Remarkable position, beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. We recommend arriving by car to the small car park (near “casa Plotta”) and then on foot. Nice walk to do. At times the road is quite steep (slowly, it's done) and in winter it is often icy (remember your crampons!). It's a shame about the "remains" around the shelter of the old facility (chair lift) which has been abandoned for decades, it's not really a nice sight, it's not exactly "industrial archaeology". The wooden sculptures scattered all around are original. Courteous and pleasant staff. You eat well, their goulash with polenta is really good, not least the dumplings or strudel... with pears and you pay a fair price. Certainly worth returning, perhaps for dinner, then sleeping in one of the rooms (each with private bathroom)…

Recommended for quality-price ratio: €35 eating 2 starters, 3 first courses, 2 second courses, 1 dessert, 2 liters of beer, 3 coffees and 3 grappas for a total of 4 people

18/08/2024: Ritornare al Mondschein è ritornare in un posto del cuore dove trovare sempre una calorosa accoglienza e un ambiente piacevole, in cui la famiglia Kratter coccola i suoi ospiti nel migliore dei modi. Innanzitutto con la sua cucina superlativa ( pane di vario tipo fatto in casa....costolette di agnello squisite...dolci buonissimi ...e molti altri piatti saporiti), con una cantina fornitissima che accontenta tutti i palati ( e tutte le tasche...visti i ricarichi onesti) e con un servizio cortese, puntuale e professionale che rende l'esperienza davvero unica.

30/01/2025: Arriving at the facility's campsite on January 26, 2025, we were supposed to stay in the camper for 5 nights. Unfortunately, after just 2 nights spent there, we had to leave because the campsite was completely frozen! Once we arrived on site we realized that to access the bathroom there were two alternatives: via a steep staircase without a handrail (photo attached) or by returning down to the reception and going down another small slope. It's a shame that both entrances were almost inaccessible due to the icy and slippery road surface. Considering the fact that on the second evening of my overnight stay I slipped disastrously on the ice a few meters from the camper, hitting my left shoulder and that my 3-year-old son slipped several times, a couple of which got him very badly hurt enough to have to be treated, I would like to point out that , for those who don't know, the hotelier and the campsite manager have a duty to protect their customers, according to articles 1175 and 1375 of the civil code, regarding correctness and good contractual faith: that is, they have the obligation to guarantee the hygiene, health, surveillance and safety of the spaces where the service takes place as established by current regulations. The managers and owners of the facilities must guarantee the safety and physical integrity of the users who access the service, beyond compliance with the regulations in force, otherwise they will be liable for damages suffered by customers, as established by art. 2051 of the Civil Code , regarding damage caused by things in custody. On the morning of January 28th I set the camper in motion to leave the structure and telephoned the reception to obtain information on the feasibility and safety of the exit manoeuvre: I was advised to install snow chains because on the slope that divides the pitch from the exit could slip. I point out to my interlocutor that in the event of damage to things or people, the entire responsibility lies with the structure that hosts us and I am rudely reiterated to use snow chains and that it is my obligation to own them! I fit snow chains, obviously, I wouldn't want to slip or roll over with the camper! I walk almost 15 meters of road that separates my pitch from the reception and then dismantle them immediately afterwards; the road surface had been cleared there. I enter the reception to pay and take the opportunity to point out the problem and the fact that in 3 days and 2 nights no one had used the bathroom as it was inaccessible. I'll let you imagine what it means to not shower for two and a half days after doing activities in the mountains! I was answered with the exact words: "if you are not able to camp in the winter, go to a hotel!" I specify that my wife and I were born and raised in campers and in campsites and rest areas, especially in winter, we have seen them but never found a situation like this, in addition to the inconvenience of not using the toilets, the shamelessness in telling us to go in the hotel. It has been alleged that the undersigned made "verbal aggression" towards them, but there was no threat, defamation or mistreatment; not understanding where the "verbal threat" takes place, I deduce that they mistook my way and my tones of speaking (I have a fairly powerful voice) as something threatening. Furthermore, it is better not to go into detail about the embarrassing discussion between me and the owner of the facility so as not to add further fuel to the fire. But okay, let's move on. I don't judge the structure and the various services they offer, I only used the shuttle, the landscape is very beautiful, but it must be considered that due to neglected maintenance we had to return from the holiday early, smelly and driving with a sore shoulder . Two stars for the negative experience.

26/01/2025: Used the Lisa Vittozzi chalet Splendid with sauna and hydromassage tub, underfloor heating and wood-burning fireplace, all excellently managed by friendly, helpful and competent staff. Abundant and quality sweet and savory breakfast.
