28/10/2025: It was a fantastic experience having lunch at this inn! We met in Orvieto for a family lunch, and despite there being 17 of us, a last-minute reservation, we were greeted warmly and sweetly. The waitress Angy smiled at us from start to finish, truly pampering us the entire time, making us feel at home, and the cook delighted us with traditional dishes that were nothing short of fabulous! The dishes were tasty and beautifully served; we sampled the typical cured meats and cheeses accompanied by exceptional focaccia. Afterwards, we ordered various first courses, and the mushroom and truffle ones were truly out of this world, with an indescribable flavor, not to mention the enormous portions. The final treat was the homemade desserts, which made everything even more special and satisfying. Excellent value. A true example of fine dining!! I highly recommend it.

16/10/2025: I recently visited this restaurant and had an overall positive experience. The dishes were good and satisfying, though not particularly refined or innovative. The menu is limited. The presentation was simple, but the flavors were well-balanced and pleasant. The restaurant's atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing, ideal for a dinner with friends or family.

26/09/2025: Once again, we had the pleasure of dining at La Locanda del Capitano... this time to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Having lived in Umbria for the past four and a half years, we have grown to truly appreciate fine food and wine, and for me as a passionate food and wine lover, there is simply no better place than this culinary jewel in Montone. Chef Giancarlo Polito is more than just a master in the kitchen... he is a true gentleman. His genuine care for his guests and his dedication to creating unforgettable dining experiences set this restaurant apart. Every visit feels special, thanks to the perfect combination of exquisite cuisine, warm hospitality, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay much longer. We absolutely love it here, and La Locanda del Capitano continues to be one of the highlights of our life in Umbria.

03/09/2025: The staff were friendly and helpful, and the pizza was very good for those who love Umbrian-style pizza—not thick, so to speak. And although I prefer the classic Neapolitan style, I found it good here, even if thin, as is customary here in Umbria.

12/10/2025: Very nice place in the center of Orvieto good food but the tourist menu mode (drinks and cover charge excluded) makes it a bit "manual" of the type come on eat pay and go we need the table 😅 (I understand) anyway a good place to eat something in the streets of the center 👍

Pasticceria Gelateria Russo Girotti is exactly that. First of all, the co-owner is an ABSOLUTE, WORLD-WIDE LEGEND... TERENCE HILL! A very sweet person and of immense class. Elisa, the woman who served me, was wonderful, but above all, she is one of those very few people who infuse everything they do with all their heart, passion, and so much love, as well as a very high level of professionalism. Everything made here is a true art, a journey through the aromas and flavors, but above all, through the feelings and emotions they evoke in those who enter. With each delicacy, a fantastic journey begins through a beautiful world, just like a Terence Hill movie. Smiles and sincere words that come from the heart join the wonderful world of the Russo Girotti pastry shop. 23/08/2025: Bad impression. Ordered a cake for 10 people for my son's birthday the next day. Naturally, there was no price limit, just the size, which therefore had to be large. The next day they gave us a cake that not even the Smurfs would have eaten. They insisted that "for them" it was a cake for 10. I'm from Rome and I've always ordered cakes for 10 that are just right. After a heated discussion, I had to settle for another, slightly larger cake that had been in the fridge since the day before. Party ruined. I'm now reading your response, which borders on a complaint for personal insults, and that doesn't mean I won't proceed in that direction. I am a respected professional and a polite person, as can be seen from the documents on various websites that deal with me. But that has nothing to do with it. If a customer complains about what they consider an injustice, you don't respond with arrogance (you do) "for us the cake..." (I repeat, Lilliputian) "is a 10"!!!! . Period. We're trying to figure out what the problem is and politely address it. The cake he replaced wasn't the same size at all, so much so that he had to change the box and get a larger one. As I was leaving your shop, two ladies approached me to confirm their shock at such treatment. Rest assured, I have no intention of ever setting foot in your shop again, even though your refusal would be subject to legal action. A commercial establishment cannot do so. Not only will I never set foot in your shop again, but neither will the many friends in Penna and Giove to whom I told the incident. Good things. It's still causing controversy. What you wrote qualifies you without further comment and shows who the rude and offensive one is. I don't understand how someone like you can work in contact with the public. I hope for your future customers that this unpleasant episode has taught you to be more polite and helpful. And with that, I'll end this controversy. I've said everything I had to say.

26/10/2025: We went with The Fork. Excellent experience. Discount applied regularly. Paid with The Fork Pay without any problems. Excellent Neapolitan pizza, as well as bruschetta and fried foods. Excellent value.

14/11/2025: I would never go back. I had planned a pleasant evening, to chat with my friend and enjoy a good dinner. They had tables set up for a private party with 20 children running and screaming all over the room. Unbearable. Bye!!!

09/11/2025: The pizza was good, even the meat, but I had called at least three days before to see if they had gluten-free pizza and chips for my celiac daughter, and they told me there were no problems. Then, on the evening of dinner, they only had pizza, they couldn't make chips, and no dessert. I was honestly a little disappointed.

06/10/2025: A very cute place with its own character. The unique decor feels like walking into a candy store, a bit Willy Wonka-esque. We had the smoothies, all made fresh, with fresh fruit. They were thirst-quenching and delicious. The staff were very kind and friendly; I'd love to go back to try the gelato.

04/10/2025: We came here for lunch, hoping for a salad and dessert but we could only see sweet options. Not a problem, we ordered some crepes and hot drinks and were completely stuffed by the end of out meal! They have gluten free pancakes and crepes (waffles are on the menu, but cannot be made GF), which I enjoyed. The lady helping us was very friendly and the shop is beautifully decorated.

11/11/2025: We want to consider that it was Monday and the supplies had not been made, that perhaps they were not expecting customers but the taste of the rancid sausages, the cold food, all points that should be strong points for the type of restaurant, I'm sorry but for years we have been in many "big heads" also brought many friends but we have to note the worsening of the food overall

06/11/2025: Going to Holyfood feels like home, with healthy, authentic food, cooked with respect and emphasis on high-quality ingredients. Federica, Laura, and Alice are the umami of the place. Highly recommended, even for those who aren't normally vegetable lovers; with their 1,000 different dishes, they'll make you love them.

28/10/2025: They don't take you into consideration and put up allusive and discriminatory signs outside the premises ("better a vegetable past than a shitty future") towards omnivores, who were once the norm.

12/09/2025: The restaurant certainly gets a lot of work as it's located within a resort that operates very well. Overall, however, I have to say that the culinary experience didn't entirely satisfy us.

08/09/2025: We booked for two for a special occasion, and arrived around nine o'clock and were greeted warmly. A very friendly and knowledgeable waiter served us at our table. The bread was very good, and the wait for our food wasn't particularly long. We both ordered an appetizer and a first course; I opted for the vegetarian options, which were plentiful. At the end of the meal, we ordered dessert. I had a mini portion of sorbet and another of gelato (I was a bit full); the vanilla gelato was fantastic, and the sorbet had a strong berry flavor. My companion, on the other hand, had brownies accompanied by the aforementioned sorbet, which he thoroughly enjoyed. We left satisfied.
