16/04/2025: Spent 5 nights here as we explored Lake Como. Varenna is a beautiful village and the hotel location on the square is charming. Our room was quiet and comfortable with spectacular views of the lake. Breakfast buffet is a treat. Staff is very helpful and made great restaurant suggestions. We had an emergency situation when we checked out when our prearranged taxi was in an accident and hotel staff arranged for transportation within 30 minutes to get us to airport. We are so appreciative

11/04/2025: Had the dreamiest stay in Varenna here with a perfect view and convenient access to wonderful restaurants and attractions like Villa Monastero. Staying here also gives you access to the Villa Cipressi botanical gardens next door which is quite a treat. The AC in the room was outstanding and they had great shower pressure in the room as well. The included breakfast is quite lovely. Highly recommend staying here!

18/04/2025: Impossible not to give it 5 stars. Very kind staff and excellent food with reasonable prices. Very nice place, also convenient for eating outside. I recommend choosing the 13 euro menu for a single dish.

08/04/2025: Unfortunately, the quality of the food dropped dramatically. Two years ago we were with friends and we liked it so much that we went there twice in one trip. Unfortunately, all in all, it was a total disappointment, the worst pizza you can eat in Italy, a lot of sauce, no spices, burnt vegetables, and the pizza, too, the cheese tasted like it wasn't completely fresh. Only the fries are edible. The only plus point is probably the drinks. We won't be back.

08/04/2025: Business just opened in the neighborhood, where an ice cream shop had been missing for some time. The place is large with the possibility of sitting at tables. The ice cream is really good, you can feel that it is artisanal and not the usual ice cream from franchise chains. Given the recent opening, the choice of flavors is not huge but the best ones are all there. Lactose-free flavors available. Nice and friendly owner. I really hope it's successful and stays for a long time

09/03/2025: Excellent farmhouse we went for lunch today, everything was good, a real farmhouse!! The first really super polenta gnocchi and the maltagliati, I recommend the capu' with super polenta

25/02/2025: I recently went to Giannino for a corporate event. We were given a room all to ourselves. The welcome and service were good, but two big flaws: the dishes all had minimal portions but above all they were cold. Milanese risotto cannot be served cold. If the rice comes out hot from the pan, when it is spread onto a cold plate and it is even a minimal portion, it cannot maintain the temperature. It was a real shame because it would certainly have been good as soon as it was ready. Then there were drafts in the room and, despite repeated requests to the waiters, the drafts continued throughout dinner. All in all, a thrilling evening.

15/02/2025: 02/14/2025 Valentine's Day dinner with my partner, we sit down, no one welcomes us for 10 minutes, I ask for water, after 30 minutes of sitting I manage to get the command to take me. The food arrives, quite good too to be honest. I put 1 on service because I can't put 0, totally inadequate, embarrassing, waiters who don't know the table numbers, what I assume was the Maitre d' totally inadequate. Two tables of kids near us left one after the other. The first person seated at 8pm and 11pm had not even received a course. The other two in 3 hours only the appetizer. I believe I received everything for the fact that I made myself heard. Final bill 179 euros of embarrassment. I wonder how Michelin can mention such a place in its guide, so you lose credibility even as a guide.
