19/02/2026: My experience at Caffè Montagno was very disappointing. My family and I have been going there for years, but over time, the situation has deteriorated significantly.
The owners are often rude and arrogant, not only towards customers but especially towards the employees, who are treated terribly. I've repeatedly witnessed humiliating reprimands made in front of everyone, in a rude and disrespectful tone, clearly embarrassing the employees. Such behavior is unacceptable and creates a heavy and unpleasant atmosphere, even for those who are there as customers.
The quality of service is also highly inconsistent.
19/02/2026: Quality and variety on offer, very friendly staff. A great place to enjoy a satisfying meal at any time. Kudos to the cleanliness, too!

20/01/2026: We went to this restaurant because we wanted to try something different. The atmosphere was beautiful, the food was good, and it was an explosion of flavors and spices. We felt right at home. A shout out to the lady who served us, she was super kind. I hope to return soon. I recommend it for anyone wanting a full immersion experience in Ethiopian culture.

07/02/2026: The atmosphere is fantastic, evocative with its soft lighting. I could spend hours talking with the owner, and not just about the food. The service? Excellent, as is the food, if you like this cuisine, of course. When ordering, they always ask about any allergies and vegetarian options. It's best to make a reservation. This is where I go every time I'm in Bologna.

The price is above average but fully justified by the quality of the ingredients, their preparation, and the attention to detail that undoubtedly went into balancing the dishes. The octopus deserves a special mention: the most tender I've ever eaten, it melted in my mouth.
Definitely recommended.

19/01/2026: An unforgettable experience.
We chose the five-course menu (selectable from the à la carte menu) with a glass of wine (one for each course). We were greeted with a delicious entrée and pampered throughout. The service was excellent, attentive but not overwhelming.
The appetizer was delicious, the first courses delicate yet well-structured, rich in flavor, and the meat perfectly cooked. I didn't find the dessert as exciting as the rest of the menu; perhaps if I had chosen it again, I would have ordered a different course, but that's just my personal opinion.
I hope to return soon to try the rest of the menu! Congratulations.
18/01/2026: A must-visit when passing through these parts. The usual high-quality service and excellent food, although I wasn't entirely convinced. There were some small details, like the artichokes, which weren't very chewy in the more cooked parts. Otherwise, everything was well-balanced: bitterness, acidity, aromas, and savory. I like the way the herbs have evolved over time. All good, some very pleasant discoveries. We'll gladly return.

09/10/2025: Truly delicious sandwiches. Initially, we came solely for the porchetta (which remains the mainstay), but they've increased the variety, maintaining high quality. The staff is very friendly and courteous. It's becoming a pleasant Saturday lunchtime habit.
06/10/2025: Wonderful place. Staff is super friendly and authentic. Food is extraordinary best panino I've eaten in bologna. Packed with locals and atmosphere. Later the whole plaza is full with young people, music ect.

Highly recommend the tiramisu and crema — incredibly creamy and full of character, just like a grandma’s secret recipe.
The staff were so patient and thoughtful with their introductions and flavor recommendations, which truly brightened my first day in Bologna.
Can’t wait to come back for the June-only peach flavor! 🍑🍨✨
