In true American style, Erny's is a true gem: in addition to the counter filled with pizza by the slice, it brings back the legendary and delicious flavors of the Montese Cheesesteak. 24/02/2026: My boyfriend and I had dinner at this little restaurant, recommended to us by his uncle. It's located at the entrance to a small, high-altitude village near Nola; we climbed several curves to get there, some quite narrow, but you have to be careful. There's also a small parking lot. We had a delicious appetizer of fried food (two crocche and zeppole), followed by two first courses (nerano and fettuccine with porcini mushrooms), both also very good, recommended by the lady herself. I highly recommend the porcini mushrooms. They were large portions, in fact, they filled us up. Finally, a slice of lemon cake; it was like a birthday cake with sponge cake, cream on the outside, and lemon cream filling, but it was incredibly good. The cream tasted just like the one in Delizia al Limone, and the cream, which I don't usually like, was light and also had a hint of lemon. To drink, a nice liter of still water, which I haven't seen in a restaurant for maybe a few years. You can also choose a set menu, but only for lunch, or at least not always; you'll have to ask the kitchen. The price was super fair, about €18 per person. The place was very small, very simple, but welcoming and homey. It was probably a former house now converted into a trattoria. Overall, definitely recommended. Next time I'll try the meat.

Upon arrival, the owner takes you on a cloying, self-congratulatory tour of the restaurant and his family's history, repeating the same litany to everyone. The food is average, even worse: overcooked macaroni, bland suckling pig, and tough mashed potatoes... decent appetizers... you can eat real Irpinia cuisine elsewhere. There are no menus, and the owner does everything verbally. The restaurant is not wheelchair accessible. Nice place, but not at all welcoming. Prices are average.

15/03/2026: Discovered purely by chance on Instagram, I booked with my eyes closed for the following day. Without any expectations, we found ourselves in a gem of a place, very charming and with attention to detail. The service was kind and attentive, and the dishes were truly delicious. Everything was delicious, with well-balanced flavors and quality ingredients. My only small complaint was the desserts, which were good but slightly less surprising than the rest of the menu. Overall, a place definitely worth a visit!
