13/01/2025: An authentic experience among the flavors and landscapes of Tuscany Our visit to Agriturismo Casa al Vento was simply enchanting, an experience that combines the best of Tuscan tradition with warm and authentic hospitality. We were welcomed with great kindness by Francesca, who proved to be impeccable and welcoming. With his smile and his professionalism, he immediately put us at ease, making us feel at home. Francesca accompanied us through the tasting experience with evident passion, carefully explaining every detail of the wines and telling us the history of the farmhouse and its wine production. The wine tasting was one of the most memorable moments: a selection of local labels of intense and full-bodied Reds, each paired perfectly with our charcuterie board. The latter was a riot of authentic flavours, with very high quality cold cuts and local products that spoke of tradition and territory. Every bite and every sip was a real pleasure for the palate. The farmhouse itself is a jewel. Immersed in the Tuscan hills, it offers a breathtaking view of vineyards, olive groves and gentle slopes that seem painted. The spaces are designed down to the smallest details, with a rustic but elegant style that reflects the character of the place. Walking around, breathing the fresh air and enjoying the silence of the countryside was a regenerating experience. I highly recommend Agriturismo Casa al Vento to anyone who wants to live an authentic and relaxing experience, among unique flavors and a postcard landscape. It is a place that knows how to conquer the heart and the senses! We'll be back soon ❤️

A place where it seems that time has stopped, the rooms make you feel at home and take you back to a time when everything was hectic... in short, in this splendid village you can recharge and regenerate Extremely kind and knowledgeable staff...the passion and dedication for this splendid land shines through. Thanks to Andrea for the excellent advice, now all we have to do is drink the wine he recommended, confident that it will be delicious

18/11/2024: Un bellissimo ristorantino all'interno di una casetta su due piani: la bellissima sala con caminetto al piano inferiore, la cucina a quello superiore. Ottimo servizio, disponibilità, gentilezza e splendido umorismo da buon oste toscano. Cibi buona ma potrebbero osare di più, manca un pò di spinta toscana. Rapporto qualità prezzo buono.

Our sirloin was almost tasteless (and we got 2) Courteous but distracted staff. What we paid is absolutely insane and absolutely not justified by what we ate. We won't be back!

19/11/2024: We had lunch - food was fine but not what we expected - starters where good but “Roast pork with potatoes “ came as cold cuts with cabbage salad. Tasted fine but being English was not what we expected - really must get more of an explanation in future. Staff were great and the Blue berry tart went down very well.

10/10/2024: A nice restaurant in Gaiole and the only place where you can find pizza. You can choose from many pizzas and even three different doughs. The service is kind. But it can be difficult to find celiac-friendly meals - but we'll be back next year during Eroica for the pizza.

30/09/2024: Sono tornato dopo 3 anni, e ho trovato questo meraviglioso luogo ancora una volta a livelli strepitosi. Una delle eccellenze della Toscana, senza dubbio. Tagliatelle ai funghi speciali, filetto con funghi, tartufo e pecorino idem. Chef super, ma anche il maitre in sala è un professionista straordinario, bravi tutti!

14/10/2024: Beautiful hotel overlooking the Tuscan fields! Romantic atmosphere. The hotel has a small number of rooms, which makes it private. The elderly man at the reception represents an incredible level of service that is rarely seen these days! The bathroom smells nice of cosmetics. The downside is the spa. I don't know why, but the saunas were not working during our visit, and they are located in a separate building from the pool.

13/08/2024: We are on our way back home, sorry for not being able to extend our stay but also completely satisfied by the experience that the Spaltenna Castle can offer even in just a few days! The place is extraordinary: a careful recovery of the original structures makes use of a skilful integration of the new structures, perfectly incorporated into the nature of the area. We tried all the services offered and were amazed by the extreme attention to aesthetic and human detail, by the functionality with which every moment of the day is managed and by the discretion that can be maintained despite the crawl space of operators and activities! There is one nice thing that we cannot fail to underline: among all the castles and locations that we have been lucky enough to know, Spaltenna Castle is the king of amenities!!!!!!!! You could stay with an empty suitcase! The place sells itself, the management is evidently valid and consolidated, but the real strength is made up of the people: at the reception Vincenzo's eyes shine when he talks about his territory; Giorgio the mêtre of Pievano is the light and elegance of a restaurant that deserves a separate review; Elisabetta the sommelier is a beautiful woman who preserves the ancient secrets of her grandmothers in her professionalism; Lorenzo knows how to spell out the chef's talent with the right pauses and the emphasis of a touching passion for such a young boy; Augustin's delicate cocktails will make you want to hug this very sweet boy, Lara's determination in action is only the incipit for a beautiful chat with the backdrop of shooting stars and cicadas; and if you season everything with Gemma's cocktails??? Almost as extraordinary as her bright smile! Amed's kindness is precious, it shines through the eyes and perfectly packaged his professionalism; and then there is our favourite, little Chiara who, with her purity, is the mascot of a wonderful staff made up of many other people who we were not lucky enough to get to know better but who made our stay special. The infinity pool alone is worth the trip; breakfast on the terrace is super and always take at least one muffin, the internal room of the restaurant "La terrazza" is stupendous, the quality of the food is excellent and absolutely valid both the wine and the vin santo of own production, the Pievano on the other hand, he literally stole my heart!

10/01/2025: My husband and I had dinner in this restaurant last January 5th and we were lucky enough to have the place just for us. It was a magical evening to say the least, because the waiter Riccardo, of a more unique than rare kindness, had prepared a table for us right in front of the lit fireplace and guided us with preparation and skill to taste the delicious dishes. In fact, the menu follows Lorenza De' Medici's original recipes, based on Tuscan tradition and local food but with combinations of particular and precious flavours. Praise here goes to chef Gianluca Di Virgilio, who made us savor beetroot ravioli stuffed with goat cheese, cappellacci made with fresh truffle pasta and pecorino fondue, braised beef cheek with cocoa sauce and spring onions and other exquisite delicacies we have never tried Before. Thank you so much for everything, despite the distance we will try to return as soon as possible!

11/08/2024: We had lunch the other day and returned last night for dinner. The owners are very kind and professional, but still approachable; the cuisine, typical Tuscan, is excellent, with selected and niche products. Absolutely worth trying are the typical "black" crostini and the fantastic pappardelle with wild boar and the porchetta for the second course, not to mention the Florentine steak: excellent quality meat masterfully matured, accompanied by excellent wines. The owners are simple but very "smart" people, friendly and approachable.

27/09/2024: Corrado's pizza is a must stop in Gaiole in Chianti, simple ingredients and make a reservation if you want to take away... I recommend the stuffed pizza dough and super cooked, well leavened. You would immediately eat another one and then there is the beloved cat Rocco outside the door who pays attention to you, who likes cats... obviously.
