14/12/2024: An ice cream parlor located on the side of the road in a pink house, with a large terrace which was crowded with many locals. People with lactose intolerance are offered a wide choice of sorbets, each more delicious than the last. The prices are really fair and the portions are very generous. As for people with celiac disease, the waitress took care to bring out a cone protected in plastic and went to get separate tubs of ice cream in another room after I was able to choose from a list of almost 10 flavors. I really recommend it for people with dietary restrictions who can enjoy quality products and very good value for money.

04/08/2024: We ate in this restaurant twice during our vacation and absolutely loved it. All the dishes were super tasty. The desserts were also great. The service was excellent. There was a wine list where each wine was explained again. We hadn't seen that in the other restaurants. We didn't get a seat on the terrace, but the inside was also very nice. The prices are a little higher for the small portions than in the surrounding restaurants, but this is absolutely justified given the quality. We also picked up olive oil from the neighboring shop because we liked it very much and the price was right.

29/08/2024: evening at Osteria Il Re Gallo, Castellina in Chianti Our afternoon stroll through the picturesque town of Castellina in Chianti, which was supposed to end with ice cream, unexpectedly led us to Osteria Il Re Gallo. 🍝 It was almost 7 p.m., the perfect time for dinner, so after a long walk we started looking for a place where we could eat something. In tourist towns, where crowds of people wander the streets, we usually choose restaurants in more secluded places. Reason? Our dog, who is a bit anxious, feels better in quieter areas. Do you know this? 🐾 This time we chose Osteria, whose tables were located on the corner of the street, right next to the park. We looked inside to see if we could eat something without making a reservation. Fortunately, even though the restaurant didn't open until 30 minutes later, i.e. at 7:30 p.m., we managed to get a table for two people (plus a dog). At the appointed time we sat down to dinner. The first surprise - the girl serving us spoke a little Polish, which was a nice surprise. It turned out that she grew up in the Czech Republic. We ordered dishes from the menu, and of course house wine - but tempted by the recommendation of our caregiver, we first tried tortellini with truffles. What a delight for the palate it was! 😋 Then the pasta was served. The dishes were not only tasty, but also served at the perfect time - the staff was smiling all the time and ready to help. And an interesting fact. During dinner, overhearing the conversation of an American family at a neighboring table, we learned that the wine list includes a unique red Chianti called "Super Toscana", which is a favorite among guests from the USA. Sounds interesting, right? 🍷 And one more thing - in the name of Osteria Il Gallo - it means a rooster. YES, the one in the glass and found throughout the Chianti region as a symbol of the region. ℹ️ Practical information • Reservation: Regardless of the day of the week, it is worth it reserve a table. 📅 This is a city visited often by tourists • Prices: Dishes from 8 to 25 Euro. House wine – 8 Euro for ½ liter. Coperto 2 Euro per person. • Dogs: Welcome, but watch out for cats sometimes they are walking nearby. 🐶🐱 • Opening hours: 12:30-15:00 and 19:30-22:00. 🕒 • We leave cars in external parking lots, in designated places. We reach the centro storico on foot - slightly uphill Osteria Il Re Gallo is a place worth visiting if you are looking for excellent food, a friendly atmosphere and charming surroundings. 22/08/2024: We had dinner two evenings in this restaurant in the heart of Castellina. We were welcomed with great kindness, professionalism and friendliness. We enjoyed excellent traditional Tuscan dishes prepared with great skill, from appetizers to desserts. All accompanied by excellent Chianti. Very welcoming location, immersed in the quiet and evocative atmosphere of the square. Advised.

31/08/2024: El Ristorante Fizzano se encuentra dentro de la Finca Fizzano, que es un pequeño complejo vacacional situado a solo unas millas de Castellina in Chianti. Elegimos su menú degustación Origine de cinco platos a 68€ por persona. Cada plato era delicioso, pero particularmente el entrante de huevo escalfado, parmesano, espinacas y trufas. El servicio también fue excelente. Pudimos cenar al aire libre y disfrutar del hermoso entorno bajo un sol poniente.

04/08/2024: This is a little piece of heaven. The food is incredible and the service matches the spectacular location. Best cappuccino I had in Tuscany and they were so friendly, they let me order it after lunch. 😅 I can't recommend this enough.

19/10/2024: Arrived after booking through the link available on Google and they said it wasn’t valid. Then they acted as though it was our fault and that they couldn’t seat us. Sent us away after making a reservation. Never seen anything like it. Avoid

13/10/2024: Must be one of Castellina’s best kept secrets. Tucked away in the outer defence walls and accessed via the town watchman walk around, this is our favourite return restaurant in Tuscany. Full of local diners with some discerning tourists, like ourselves, the service and food is always excellent with a great Italian atmosphere.

17/09/2024: Superb location - beautiful tuscan views, great common areas, very good restaurant. Rooms are a bit dated though - doors are squeaking, bathroom makes weird sounds when people from other rooms are using theirs. All in all, we were happy there.

10/09/2024: Tuvimos una reserva de cena tarde condujo en la oscuridad y el GPS nos redirigía. Cuando llegamos el lugar era espectacular, con viejas estructuras de piedra, iluminación increíble y un ristorante amurallado de vidrio muy relajante que se abre durante el día. El menú estaba preparado para la noche, eran mariscos y teníamos los maridajes de vinos. El tártaro de marisco y el atún Amberjack estaban perfectamente hechos y el postre era para morirse. El servicio era excelente, hablaba inglés muy bien y estaban muy bien informados. Muy recomendable reservar con antelación, ya que este no es un lugar perdido para comer cuando visite la zona de Castellina de la Toscana. El maridaje de vinos fue un poco apagado para mi gusto, pero el vino de postre Tuarita Sele de la zona de Sicilia fue excepcional
