08/07/2025: Slow and inattentive service. We had the tasting menu, both cooked and raw. The food has potential and the venue is nice. I just regret that my best friend chose it to celebrate her birthday, when we can go anywhere we like on the island… Instead of admitting that they have no real sommelier working that evening, they give us a waiter who has no clue and sells us a bottle of their house “champagne” and forgets about us for the rest of the evening, even though we explain that we’d like to try several wines. Talks negatively about local winemakers on the island (“too expensive”). We mention twice (both to our waiter/quasi sommelier and the restaurant manager) that we are celebrating a birthday and it’d be nice to get a candle with dessert. They even ask me to point out the birthday girl, but then they completely forget about us. As we are getting up to leave we get a “oh and HBD btw” from the waiter. He should’ve kept pretending he forgot, honestly. Update: upon reading this review, the owner basically contacts my best friend on WhatsApp in order to “apologize”, but then turns the whole thing into a rant… pretty sad stuff.

08/07/2025: This restaurant was highly recommended to us by several people, a signal too strong to ignore... and in fact they were right! The service was impeccable: attentive, friendly, but never intrusive. The fish, very fresh and local, was the protagonist in every course with a good balance between authentic flavors and raw materials of the highest quality. Another pleasant surprise was the wine list: extensive, well-curated, with a very interesting selection, especially regarding champagne. There are labels of big names but also small sought-after productions, described with passion. We had the pleasure of exchanging a few words with the owner, who showed us the cellar: a real gem! Koala is a restaurant that absolutely deserves a visit: for the quality of the food, for the long history of the place and for the splendid wine proposal, with a careful eye on both Italian and French wines. We will definitely be back, next time!

13/06/2025: Posto incredibilmente affascinante . una strada sterrata contornata da ulivi ti conduce a questo bucolico ristorante immerso nella campagna di Lacona. Il nome della via e' un poema: "via dei vigneti". Personale gentile . La proprietaria una signora deliziosa. Ottima cena all'aperto, con sottofondo di musiche rilassanti e canti in "diretta "di vari uccellini. Cenato egregiamente con piatti soprattutto a base di pesce. Prezzo? antipasti 15, primi simile , secondi da 15 a 22 euro Una serata in un luogo incantato. Provare per credere.

03/05/2025: Qua la cucina è forma d'arte, niente di simile a Livorrno. Andrea, front girl del ristorante, descrive piatti vini e dolci con la verve di chi sta facendo qualcosa che ama. Ci vonsiglia e descrive un vino cileno rose' che rispecchia perfettamente l'esperienza provata poco dopo. Per noi stella M. Straaaconsigliato.

19/06/2025: I stopped by this gelato shop during my trip to Italy and was absolutely blown away. I ordered the caramel and pistachio flavors — both were outstanding! The caramel was rich, smooth, and perfectly sweet, while the pistachio was creamy with a deep, nutty flavor that tasted genuinely fresh and not artificial (a rarity!). You can really tell they use high-quality ingredients. The staff was friendly, and the shop had a charming, authentic vibe. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re nearby — this is the kind of gelato that makes you fall in love with Italy all over again.

09/06/2025: Excellent artisanal ice cream, as a Sicilian I was wary of the cassata flavor, the owner offered me a spoonful and I was happy to change my mind. The orange chocolate flavor was also excellent and the banana flavor was amazing, you could taste the fruit and not the fake flavors. Finally I tried the almond granita, always at the owner's invitation and it was really good, there are also brioches with tuppo for a real Sicilian breakfast. When I return to Livorno I will definitely come and visit you with pleasure.

28/06/2025: Informal place with fresh and delicious food. Dishes that are always excellent and excellent daily proposals, both fish and non-fish. Prepared on allergens. The outdoor cloister is nice even if not very comfortable and the interior is characteristic. The staff is very cordial and friendly.

10/07/2025: I always love returning to this pizzeria, both for the high quality of the food (delicious cake, super hot schiacciatina, and light and tasty pizza) and for the service that makes you feel truly welcomed. The chef is very friendly and you can feel his desire to make his customers feel good. The waiter is also helpful and very kind! The pizzas are very good and meticulously prepared, with very personal and unique plating, but they always leave you completely satisfied at the end of the meal. The dough is light, but you won't leave hungry! Highly recommended!

17/06/2025: Thin and crispy pizza, with excellent products. For those who love thin pizza like me, this is the right place. Friendly and attentive staff, transmits empathy. Very nice place, not big, air conditioned. In the center of Livorno.

04/07/2025: 4 stars without any hesitation. Special location in one of the many alleys of Marciana Marina, right in the center. Friendly, professional staff, fast service despite the many customers. The first courses we ordered were good, but above all the pizza amazed us: good dough, finally well cooked, quality ingredients and well measured. Acceptable prices in relation to the context.

03/07/2025: From Neapolitan: top pizza, made us feel at home. Extremely friendly staff and very fast service. The location is super central, a few steps from the sea. I recommend it to anyone who wants to try a Neapolitan pizza that is not the usual tourist trap.

04/07/2025: The hotel staff is incredibly kind.. which is hard to find now. The first time I went there was also the first time I went on holiday alone, from the first second they made me feel part of their country (not mandatory, but it was nice anyway, already after the first night they knew my name). The hotel is not close to the sea, obviously, but it is in a spectacular position for those who suffer from the heat at night, so all you have to do is take the car and in 10 minutes you are soaking in the water. I often go to Elba, but I had such a good time that I don't see any reason to look for another hotel. Highly recommended!

03/07/2025: First of all, the location is super and the food was fantastic, I want to emphasize this! The raw materials are to be applauded, really. The fried seafood, a dish that I am particularly fond of, was perfect. However, we must also talk about the negative aspects. Full of mosquitoes that literally massacred us, I understand the season and the proximity to the sea, but it is necessary to find a serious remedy. Another sore point was the heat... unbearable, it was for us who were sitting quietly (it is annoying to have to eat sticky with sweat) and it was even more so for the waiters, poor things, who were nice and kind throughout the meal, you could see that they were out of breath, tired and red in the face. It makes you angry to see people working in those conditions. I am very sorry to have to give two stars, but the food cannot be the only final evaluation of a place.
