08/07/2025: I've been coming to this place for almost two years now, and I've only had one bad experience, perhaps because it changed management in that time. Otherwise, I have to say it's the only good all-you-can-eat place worth going to (considering that I always drive almost an hour to get here). The staff is friendly, kind, and always helpful. The food is good (especially the seared salmon nigiri, which are absolutely delicious!). The place is beautiful, and most importantly, the bathrooms are always clean, which is a plus. The staff is also very attentive to their guests' well-being. We're always seated near the window overlooking the street, and they always come to close or open the curtains depending on where the sun shines. I highly recommend this place; it's become our favorite hangout for my family and I.

30/09/2025: Kudos to the entire staff, and to Davide for his hospitality and kindness. The food was truly exceptional, and not to mention the wine list, which is truly excellent. The place is beautiful and very clean. I'll definitely come back to visit you when I return to Pantelleria.

15/09/2025: The hotel has the best location in all of Scopello. It's right in the center, just steps from the main square. Beautiful views from the restaurant and some rooms. It's a shame the hotel restaurant is closed in September, we would have loved to have dinner there. We had breakfast, but it wasn't worth the price. Overall, I highly recommend it. The staff was very friendly.

23/08/2025: The hotel is dated but has a beautiful view. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. The showers need some work!

05/10/2025: For a group of nearly 20 people, the service was prompt and generous despite the restaurant being fully booked. A couple of extra dishes were even served, not previously arranged, to satisfy some of the guests' requests. The entire staff went out of their way to accommodate even the most impromptu requests. Very good and very tasty.

30/09/2025: The couscous was very good...it's a shame the service was so poor...little attention to the customer...

17/09/2025: An old hotel, you can tell from the entrance facade that it's not well-maintained. On a positive note, it's really just steps from the sea. There's no elevator. Breakfast was poor, dinner was plentiful. The towels in the room were very scratchy; almost every evening we had to ask for shower gel because they forgot to leave them. There's a sign on the refrigerator in the room saying that if they found food or drinks inside, they wouldn't charge for its rental. I find that ridiculous! The clothesline outside the window was baked by the sun. In the evenings, the room always smelled of food because the kitchen was located below our room.

27/07/2025: Io e mio marito siamo stati in questo ristorante più di una volta a cena durante la nostra vacanza. Di recente apertura, offre un meno tipico. Cibo molto buono, ben lavorato e ben servito. Davvero eccellente la zuppa di cozze. Ottimo anche il pesce spada in umido e le busiate al pesce spada. Molto buono anche il servizio è il rapporto qualità - prezzo. Consigliatissimo.

22/08/2025: Constant favoritism toward friends and acquaintances who show up after you. They're served first at rock-bottom prices. And you, who bring the tourist's money (money more important than that spent by fellow Mazarese citizens because it contributes to Sicily's development), are left aside because you're less important than them. An event I'll never forget.... A guy walks in.... "Ammunì, make me a sandwich" he walks past me, gets served.... scandalous...

20/08/2025: During the holidays, I went to this deli to get a couple of sandwiches. After ordering (let me start by saying it was takeout and there was no one before me), I found myself waiting for about an hour because, in the meantime, those who ordered later were served first, with lots of hugs and kisses and discounts (they were paying ridiculous amounts, the first time I've seen two prices and two sizes). What can I say? If you don't know anyone, you get served badly and last. To say it's uncivilized is an understatement! I was shocked! Small numbers exist everywhere.

23/09/2025: A typical Italian village café/bar that served us food without any problem, even though it was a bit late. The food was excellent value for money: sandwiches, subs, and pasta of the day. They also have a wide selection of pastries and desserts.

16/06/2025: It does exactly what you need it to do. Coffee, cold drink and local snacks. Staff friendly but not over the top. Discreet. Quiet. Perfect for those wanting to just people watch.

02/10/2025: Old hotel with minimal rooms and dated furnishings. Excellent location in the restricted traffic zone. The lady who runs it is courteous and attentive. Be careful about staying in the restaurant for dinner; prices are far too high for the portions.

14/09/2025: It seems to me that many of the reviews are derogatory. Or they refer to before the renovations, which took place around 2023 or 2024. What is certain is that the Hotel Moderno is now highly recommended. The rooms and bathrooms are furnished to a four-star standard. The restaurant has an enchanting view, both day and night; the menu is basic, but chef Baldo executes it very well. The wine and spirits list is basic but well-chosen, and we found the bulk white wine to be very respectable. The staff is friendly but discreet, the lobby is cozy and welcoming, and the background music is relaxing. Anyone who writes that parking in Erice is difficult and expensive either misunderstands or is not acting in good faith; for €12, you can park for a week in various parking lots. Erice is a medieval village, offering superb views, a pleasant climate, a relaxing atmosphere, and traditional cuisine and pastry shops that offer good value.
