11/10/2025: I was truly impressed by this place! We ate truly fresh fish. In the afternoon, we ordered some first courses and fish, so Mr. Salvo took care of purchasing the ingredients! You could taste the love and passion, as well as the quality, in every dish from Mrs. Michela. Mr. Salvo was incredibly kind, always smiling, and attentive to every detail, making us feel at home. The atmosphere is refined and welcoming, perfect for a quiet, quality dinner. I highly recommend it. We'll definitely be back! Thank you, Salvo!

15/03/2026: A total disappointment. This restaurant, which was on a whole other level years ago, is now a shadow of its former self. Over the years, the quality has visibly declined: portions are minimal, almost ridiculous, and completely disproportionate to the decidedly high prices charged. The first courses were a disaster: the pasta and sauce were completely disjointed, as if they had been thrown together at the last minute with no thought. The idea of ​​a thoughtful and well-crafted dish was completely missing. But the lowest point was undoubtedly the mussel soup: unsightly and with a truly unpleasant, almost unbearable, odor. A negative experience; I'm not even close to being worth the price. For the prices they charge, there are dozens of restaurants in the area where the food is infinitely better. We will never return, and frankly, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

16/11/2025: First time in this restaurant, I was very happy with the service and the kindness of both the owner and the rest of the staff, very good and very fresh fish served with a lot of imagination and elegance, we stopped at just the tasting because it turns out to be abundant and we didn't pay a fortune... so we will return and I highly recommend it

17/04/2026: The importance of details. We returned to the Baglio after 10 years and, as before, we encountered the same warm welcome from the owner. Nothing is taken for granted; in addition to the kindness, it was immediately noticeable that, unlike many other establishments in the area, here at the Baglio the bread isn't the usual defrosted bread, which is certainly more economically manageable, but a homemade product toasted with oil and oregano. The appetizer consisted of several courses, all balanced in quantity and flavor. The first courses were excellent, especially the spaghetti with datterini tomato sauce and eggplant cream. We continued with a slice of cod with creamed potatoes and roasted artichokes. There was a wide selection of bottled wines, not just the usual Nero d'Avola and Inzolia by the glass. Finally, the owner offered Amaro di Arancio e zenzero (a rare find in almost all restaurants these days). To conclude, a famous saying: three is all good things...we'll be back!

07/07/2025: All good. I suggest doing the savoury pieces in the morning too, because often for breakfast the customers like sandwiches or focaccias tuna tomato and mozzarella. A bit like in northern Italy where there is a wide range of sweets, but also savoury. For the rest recommended, nice environment.

05/12/2025: It's just awful. We ordered 6 sandwiches. The order never arrived. When we called McDonald's, a guy answered and immediately hung up. So I asked my husband to call back from his phone. The same guy answered my husband's phone and then said he'd saved the number and called the police. Crazy world! We never go to McDonald's. Just ordering. No respect for customers!

12/10/2025: I stayed in Ragusa for three nights and decided that I would eat pasta one evening, a Sicilian meal of some sort the second day and pizza on the last night. I looked on Google Maps and found that this restaurant was the closest to where I was staying and was also open at 7.30pm, which is around the time I like to eat. On the first night I was the first customer of the evening and ate Tortellini (panna and prosciutto) and a mixed salad plus a Moretti beer. The food was very tasty, the waiting time was not too long and the service was excellent. The background music was tasteful and unobtrusive. All in all, it was a really pleasant evening. Whilst there I noticed that the menu also included local dishes and pizza so I decided to return the next night. For the second evening I chose Cotoletta alla Milanese which came with fresh vegetables, namely caponata, which I had never eaten, a mixed salad and another Moretti. The Cotoletta was similar to Weiner Schnitzel and the caponata reminded me of ratatouille and had, what I can best describe as, a sweet and sour flavour. I enjoyed this meal thoroughly too. On the third and final night I had Pizza Confit and Cassinata as a dessert plus the usual beer. Once again I was pleased with all aspects of the evening. I have found that pizza bases in Sicily tend to be very thin and that it is virtually impossible to pick the slices up and eat them. Here it was no problem as the base was more robust. Previous to Ragusa I was in Rome, Naples, Vibo Valentia, Catania and Syracuse. I preferred the pizza here to any I ate elsewhere in the past two weeks. I cannot recommend this restaurant too highly and it certainly saved me a lot of time searching through Google reviews to find decent places to eat. I am sure you will not be disappointed. I have included menus so you can see the prices.

02/10/2025: We stopped at this restaurant for lunch. The menu caters to everyone, whether you prefer meat or fish. The dishes are simple, beautifully presented, and the portions are generous. The ingredients are fresh. The prices are excellent, and the service is excellent.

27/03/2026: A disappointing experience that falls short of its potential. I visited this restaurant for the first time in a few years, and unfortunately the experience left me with serious concerns about service standards and hygiene practices. Upon arrival, despite there being only one other table occupied and several staff members present, including what appeared to be the owners, there was a noticeable delay in being acknowledged and seated. Throughout the visit, one staff member was frequently occupied on her personal phone, both at the start and as we left. The menu itself is varied and appealing, and the food was generally fresh and at a reasonable standard, hence the two stars. However, there were issues with accuracy: my sushi boat arrived missing several pieces (2 nigiri short of what was listed), and my companion’s chicken bun was also missing ingredients. When she raised this with a staff member, the response was uncertain and the resolution attempt, though well-intentioned, left us feeling unsatisfied. My most significant concern, however, relates to food hygiene. I personally observed a staff member smoking/vaping inside the restaurant premises, then later blowing her nose without washing her hands, handling food from the kitchen, and continuing to serve dishes to tables, all without any hand hygiene in between. This is not only contrary to basic food safety standards, but a potential health risk to customers. I felt uncomfortable enough to stop eating before finishing my meal. The quality of the food shows there is genuine potential here. I would respectfully encourage management to invest in structured staff training, particularly around hygiene protocols, service standards, and attentiveness, to ensure the experience matches the quality of the menu. I hope to see improvements, as this restaurant could genuinely be a strong option in the area.

02/03/2026: Unfortunately, it was a terrible experience for me. Grilled vegetables (4 slices of eggplant and half a zucchini with a sad tomato in the center) €12, a rip-off. The pizza was served in broth because it was full of water in the center, perhaps the frozen spinach hadn't been squeezed out properly. I don't recommend it. P.S. How can staff or owners be allowed to play cards in the dining room during service? Absurd.

25/01/2026: We were so happy to find a restaurant that was not only open on a Sunday in January, but also good! The pizzas were delicious. The kind woman serving our table was very accommodating of our 8 month old. Although we speak little Italian, it was refreshing to visit a restaurant in which no one speaks English. The experience was more authentic.

18/04/2026: An unassuming bar and ice cream parlor next to a gas station. They offer delicious homemade baked goods and tasty ice cream, though this also makes them a bit pricey. They also have a few savory snacks. It's currently the only restaurant in the small town and definitely worth a visit.

02/11/2025: My experience was negative. I'll start with the dining room, which isn't air-conditioned, and I could understand why there were only four tables occupied during the week, including one with some young people watching the game on TV, making it seem like we were at the stadium. We ordered three fish appetizers, two roast fish, and a fried fish. What we immediately noticed was the spicy shrimp cocktail. When I asked for an explanation, the kitchen told me that Tabasco had been added to the sauce (I'll leave that up to you). As for the fish, or rather the appetizers, they weren't up to par with freshness, with things that were repeated in both the appetizer and the roast. I'd like to give a constructive review, but when I went to the cashier, I expected not a discount, but some justification from the owner. Instead, I found a girl who gave me the bill, to whom I didn't say anything, even though we had a bottle of wine that cost 25 euros. For six people, ordering for three, we ended up paying for eight.
