22/10/2025: I'm leaving a very positive review to publicly thank the staff for their extremely kind and thoughtful approach in recovering and storing my phone, which I'd forgotten in the restroom. A simple phone call, without any waiting, was all it took to arrange storage and pick up. Thanks again!

18/10/2025: Breakfast was average, but unfortunately the experience was ruined by the staff's behavior. In particular, the young man at the cash register this morning (with a beard and square-framed glasses) was extremely rude to me and my mother. He registered the wrong item, overcharging her. When we noticed and returned to politely ask for the difference (80 cents), he reacted rudely, raising his voice and blaming my mother for the mistake. Furthermore, he gave us 30 cents less in change, but we preferred to avoid further discussion to avoid further tension. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially in a restaurant setting.

06/10/2025: Just returned yesterday from a two-week holiday in Sicily, staying at the Alcantara Resort Adults Only. A hidden gem in a small town. A wonderful place to retreat after a day out. It exudes luxury and tranquility. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. A small, hardworking team, but truly attentive to the needs of the tourist. The breakfast, served at the table, is truly top-notch! A warm welcome, no walking around with your plate, just waking up relaxed while all the fresh produce is brought to the table to your liking. Previous negative comments about not bringing groceries from the supermarket are outdated. But as a common-sense holidaymaker, you can also figure out that you're not supposed to take bags full of things to your room. After all, it's a hotel, not an apartment. You can indeed order all sorts of things at the pool. Of course, not the cheapest prices, but that's understandable. You don't have to sit there all day ordering. The hotel is more designed for relaxing by the pool for two hours after a day out. Pool towels are provided. I really want to thank everyone for their kindness and service: the breakfast team, reception, cleaners, chef, etc. In short, a great location, but a rental car is a must! The same applies everywhere in the tourism industry...what you give, you usually get back. Even though you're the tourist, you can treat each other with kindness and respect. They're truly sweethearts, even after a very long season! Grazie-Mille!

13/09/2025: We stayed 9 nights at the Alcantara Resort. The staff (except for housekeeping) spoke good English and were always friendly and cheerful, a truly warm welcome. The garden is beautiful and the pool spotless; even when it got busier, we always found a sunbed with an umbrella. The sunbeds looked neat, but unfortunately weren't very comfortable; the hotel towel was too thin to compensate. The room was spacious, with a separate bedroom and an extra room that we conveniently used as a dressing area. The bathroom looked nice, but the mosaic tiles were peeling everywhere. The floor tiles in the shower were especially dangerous: sharp and stuck to your feet. Housekeeping creatively solved this by replacing them every day or placing them on the windowsill… Definitely not 4-star. That said: kudos to the cleaners themselves! Everything was meticulously cleaned every day! We were disappointed with the restaurant: the food wasn't exceptional and quite pricey compared to the many nice options nearby. Breakfast is fine. Not a buffet, but a la carte. Not a huge selection, but enough for a nice breakfast. During our stay, there were a surprising number of Dutch people at the resort, which somewhat detracted from the holiday feeling in Sicily. The location is excellent: within a few minutes' walk, you'll find a supermarket, some bars, and restaurants. Nothing spectacular, but it's there. The resort itself overlooks Mount Etna, which is incredibly cool to see in the mornings before breakfast or during an afternoon by the pool! Tip: the roads in Sicily aren't great, and the locals drive quite recklessly. A good rental car is therefore definitely a must. All in all, a nice stay, but with some room for improvement.

20/10/2025: We went to Paradise last night. It was our last night in Sicily and we wanted to make the most of it. The reception was frosty and didn't improve throughout the service and until we left.
