26/07/2025: We were drawn in for a quick aperitivo. The place is very chic, but the service was slow and inattentive. We were the only ones waiting, along with another couple, and we weren't served on time. Aperol and Campari Spritz were served in hard plastic cups and watered down. The price was too high.

25/10/2025: The food is good, but unfortunately I discovered this pizzeria through Glovo (I'd decided to order at home), and we waited almost 2 hours for delivery. It really seems like an exaggeration, and apparently I'm not the only one who's said so in reviews. What a shame...

24/10/2025: Truly disappointing experience. Pizza ordered for 9:00 PM and only arrived at 11:15 PM after an endless wait. Two family-sized pizzas: one raw, the other burned and cold, practically inedible. We called several times and each time the same answer: "The delivery guy is about to leave." It's not the first time this has happened—always late, never a timely delivery. Terrible service and zero customer service. I will never order from them again.

28/08/2025: If I could, I'd give everything a zero!! UNCOMMENTABLE FOOD AND PRICE! We had lunch after an hour's wait, with maybe only 4 tables to serve. The appetizer was for 4 people, but maybe two people ate, but not even that much!! High prices for the portions and non-existent staff!

Pizza con al posto della mozzarella chissà quale formaggio con pessimo odore e qualità. Pessimo tutto. In 15 non abbiamo mangiato nulla

15/08/2025: Thank god we did not read the reviews before getting here! We have been twice during our stay in Taormina. Although it might be a tourist trap, delicious food and great service with waitstaff who are so friendly. Don’t be an entitled tourist and you’ll be OK.

09/03/2025: Posto acchiappa turisti. Location pessima. Prezzi da locali di lusso. Fermati per un semplice aperitivo, uno spritz e un analcolico, in piu ci hanno portato 4 patatine contate e arachidi salate in una piccola ciotolina. Pagato €11,50, a parte che il calice dello spritz era piu piccolo, la cosa che ci ha infastidito è la voce Bar nello scontrino 2,50 per le patatine, dove di solito sono inclusi nel prezzo degli aperitivi. Non ci vedranno mai piu.

12/11/2025: It's getting worse. Arancini cost €2, and today I discovered they're frozen. Piping hot on the outside, still frozen on the inside. Shame! They're getting more and more expensive, and the quality-price ratio is getting worse. A slice of reheated focaccia that cost €1.70 a few years ago is now €4.00. I left it where it was. Don't let these speculators waste your money on people's travel.

09/11/2025: I'm happy you've reopened in the city, but honestly, I don't think I'll be back. I'd stopped buying from you even before you closed: on several occasions, I'd found poorly made arancini, with rice that was too sticky, almost spreadable, and with poor fillings. So, I've shifted my inquiry elsewhere—as they say in economics, I've cast a "vote from the wallet." In town, I've found better options, like Panyllo, where the rice is well-cooked, flavored with saffron, and the filling is generous. I believe it's essential for Messina to offer quality arancini, both out of respect for local tradition and to impress tourists. You at Ancora are the first rotisserie they notice, and if the products are mediocre, you risk damaging the city's gastronomic image. I invite you to pay more attention to some fundamental aspects: 1. Cooking the rice (neither raw nor sticky) 2. Maintaining the presence of saffron (which gives it a golden color and aroma). I mention this because many rotisseries in Messina don't offer it, and the rice looks white, but it doesn't reflect the original recipe imported by the Arabs centuries ago. 3. Crispy breading 4. Generous and well-distributed filling I highly recommend checking out the approach of other establishments like Al Faro del Gusto in Torre Faro (Messina) or Bar Touring in Palermo on Via Lincoln. At both of these places, and anywhere in Palermo, I can confirm, as a Messina native, that Palermitan arancini are always made with the utmost commitment and passion. Messina deserves its arancini worthy of its tradition, as Nunnari did. With a little more care, you could really take things to the next level.
