19/09/2025: Rustic atmosphere. Fast service. Friendly, helpful, and courteous staff. The food was excellent, featuring typical Sardinian dishes. The porceddu (roasted pork) must be ordered in advance. I highly recommend it.

24/09/2025: It was a wonderful experience! The food is very delicious and fresh, the service is fast and attentive. The staff is kind, smiling and professional. The prices are completely worth the quality - a real experience to eat here. The dessert is a real Sardinian specialty, worth trying, the grappa is also delicious. I can only recommend it to everyone, we will definitely be back.

09/10/2025: If you're passing through Cagliari, you have to stop at La Balena. A trattoria that offers only the catch of the day, prepared according to tradition. The atmosphere is very rustic and stands out from all the other restaurants; it feels like stepping back in time. The menu is written on the blackboard, and Gigi manages all the tables himself. The dough is well-made and light, and every week the pizza chef creates a new creation, always original and delicious. The place is nestled in a small park, a pleasant and relaxing setting that makes the experience even more enjoyable. You can choose to eat inside or outside, enjoying the beautiful evenings. If you're in the area and looking for good pizza in a charming and refined setting, Olives is definitely the place to go.

14/09/2025: It pains my heart to write this review, but since the experience bothers me, I'm doing it. Tonight hurts just as much, considering the price I paid and the service I received as a guest. We were here on vacation three years ago, twice in fact. The prices are quite a bit higher than those of nearby restaurants. During our visits three years ago, it was reasonable, and the experience prompted us to visit again. The dishes are beautifully presented, without question. I had the bruschetta. Every Italian restaurant does it differently; some season it quite generously, while others keep it more neutral. Here, it's more neutral, and the tomatoes are unfortunately rather watery, without much of a flavor of their own. By the way, it's two euros more expensive than on the online menu; that's the case with some dishes. Based on my very good past experiences, I opted for the lobster, the most expensive dish in this restaurant. I don't eat lobster very often, but I've had a few over the past few years. Therefore, I have to say that the quality or freshness of today's was probably lacking. The meat was almost tasteless and neutral; I'm used to a typical, slightly sweet flavor. It was also very tough and rubbery; I'm used to tender, easily peelable meat. The real "highlight" of the lobster was unfortunately the carrot, because it was well seasoned and, because it's a carrot, also had its own flavor 🤷‍♂️ The shrimp at my fellow guests' table were floury and overcooked and equally bland. Some of the vegetables were very bland, unseasoned, and flavorless. Not everything was unsatisfactory; the boiled potatoes were good, as were the rosemary potatoes. The fish received praise. The chef is very friendly and personable, and takes all orders. Our half-liter of wine turned into a glass, which can happen, and isn't a big deal. The half-liter I ordered was then brought to the table without comment, not slammed, but placed "forcefully." Of course, I can pour my own wine. But at a "gourmet" restaurant, I expect a certain level of service, especially at the appropriate prices. Other guests who ordered wine by the bottle were tasted, but also not poured. I think it was different three years ago. The drinks generally took a little longer to arrive; we were even the first guests of the evening because we had reservations, and even so, the restaurant was far from full (from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.). We were used to it three years ago, when it was almost impossible to get a seat. Overall, we weren't that satisfied with the service. After my previous experience, my expectations were naturally high, and my anticipation was very high for two days. Unfortunately, this made today's performance all the more dramatic. The other guests seemed very satisfied; apparently, we had taken a hit. I probably won't be coming back, at least not this vacation, and the next time will be very carefully considered. I spent just under €75 for my own food and drinks. It would have been a good deal more if the bruschetta had been a bit more convincing, the lobster hadn't been so completely abysmal, and the service had been on point. On top of that, we were eaten alive by mosquitoes (despite the use of Autan), something the owner can only do to a limited extent, such as by planting plants and laying out the tables accordingly. But when you're being bitten from head to toe, and the food and service aren't up to scratch, you just don't feel like moving around. You just want to leave. I don't want to discourage anyone from visiting, but I have to give my unfortunately unsuccessful evening a proper assessment. The excessive length of this review probably shows how surprised I was and what I was actually expecting.

04/10/2025: Excellent pastry shop, friendly staff. All the stuff is super fresh and top-notch. I ordered the cream bomb and the flaky pizza, it was so bad, Ziopera... amazing.

15/09/2025: As always, it never fails in terms of quality and goodness. I found the place much smaller than I remembered. The friendliness and kindness are always top-notch. I know more than 20 people and every time I go I always go for sure. I hope they continue like this. We will definitely see each other again next summer.

12/10/2025: They could do better. In my opinion, table service is a must. It's neither convenient nor pleasant to bring your own food to the table. It feels like you're back in the Stone Age. And then there's a general attitude among the staff that makes it seem like they're doing you a great favor by being there. Instead of reciprocating.

09/09/2025: Absolute total comfort. Staff amazing great respect. Even though I ordered the cheapest absolutely great. They travel almost without money so didn't order much amazing. Once again from the staff immediate attention you are served immediately. ♥️
