19/08/2025: Itaco Pizza in Lucca is friendly, very reasonably priced and best of all delicious food. The Proscuitto & funghi pizza is delicious. Be warned the large pizzas are huge. Not fancy but good wholesome food.

09/09/2025: K2 is one of my favorite spots in Lucca. The food is good, the service friendly and relatively fast. The location is close to the amphitheater where the restaurants are "touristy and noisy," but much quieter. In Lucca, I often find myself at this restaurant, after wandering around in vain looking for something new.

14/06/2025: Lovely rustic location surrounded by greenery in a quiet and relaxing area outside the town of Camporgiano. You immediately feel at home, the setting is formal but the welcome is homely: friendly, kind and cordial staff. I came here for the end-of-year lunch with colleagues from the school and the owners were very kind to open just for us, as well as to prepare a menu for vegans and vegetarians just one day in advance. It was all delicious and much appreciated, I complimented the cook especially for the fried polenta with porcini mushrooms, but every dish deserved it! I'm sorry I don't have a photo of the vegetable appetizers but we were very hungry and I didn't have time! Recommended, I will definitely be back! 👏🏻

05/10/2025: Amazing local restaurant! Great food, great service, superb atmosphere!! We enjoyed a great evening here with a delicious “Gustosa” salad, followed by an outstanding fresh mortadella pizza, accompanied by a Tuscan “Montelpuciano” wine. 15/09/2025: An evening with friends at this historic Lucca restaurant, which used to be my Thursday lunch stop with schoolmates in the early '90s when it was called "Fratelli Bandiera"... and a lot of water has passed under the bridge, and I've found the place much improved!! But above all, kudos to the people who run it—I don't know their name, but at the cash register, like the person who churned out pizzas, focaccias, calzones, and more...and also to the staff serving tables, all welcoming, friendly, helpful, kind, and quick. The cooked focaccia and mozzarella and cecina were very, very good. Wait for me, I'll be back soon! Katia

13/09/2025: Excellent food in a beautiful square shaded by plane trees. What more could you ask for?! I was in Lucca 4 years ago and am returning today. When I thought about what to eat, I immediately thought of coming here. The platter is truly excellent, just as I remembered it!

28/09/2025: You'll find many eateries in the beautiful, oval square. Unfortunately, 'Old Charlie Lucca' is a restaurant focused on serving tourists in large numbers, very quickly. The otherwise pleasant waiter "gathers" tourists strolling through the square. The food is decent at best. The atmosphere is "touristy," and this isn't a place where you'll even come close to the atmosphere of a true Tuscan trattoria. Too bad.

26/09/2025: Good pizzas... the meat mmm... full of sinew and fat we were unable to eat it with gusto as we had intended so much so that when they cleared away 1/4 was on the plates because it was inedible... I'm sorry, but for meat it's better to go elsewhere.

Non ci siamo concentrati sui primi, che, però, sono sicura che meritano: abbiamo provato la tartare come antipasto (tra l'altro servita con maionese fatta in casa) ed era davvero incredibile! Poi abbiamo preso una fiorentina, servita con un contorno a scelta tra quelli proposti e, devo dire, ottima! Materie prime bene selezionate e sanno lavorarle a modo! Nota di merita per la buonissima focaccia che servono insieme al pane, suppongo fatta in casa!

25/04/2025: On the recommendation of a bartender we went to this restaurant. A very enjoyable experience from start to finish. Photonic food, the truly special beef tartare is to be recommended. Very welcoming and helpful owner. Excellent range of wines to accompany the meal. We were also lucky enough to meet some wonderful people who made it a special evening. Thank you so much.
