I had never been to Castroreale, a village just a handful of kilometers from Messina overlooking the Gulf of Milazzo and the Aeolian Islands. Among Norman towers and the inevitable castle built under the rule of Frederick II, we stop to eat at the Duomo restaurant, formerly home to the nobles' club. Between cheeses, jams, Nebrodi cured meats and a spaghetti with pistachio pesto we start talking to the owner, a returning Italian-Argentinian: born and raised in Argentina he decided to bet and invest here in Sicily. What can I say other than to go and try. Good food and good wine.

I returned in 20 minutes to a warm welcome and watched two pizza masterpieces emerge from the oven. They were excellent. Crust was perfect and just the right amount of cheese and toppings. Thank you Marino pizza for kindness and true pizza craftsmanship. 10 stars!!
