27/08/2025: I visited La Darbia for lunch. The place is stunning, nestled in nature, with breathtaking views over Lake Orta. The style blends perfectly with the surroundings. The food is made with top-quality ingredients, and the vegetables come from the on-site garden, which you can even see while dining. You can opt for a 5-course tasting menu, with the option to add the chef's signature dishes (around €100 each, portions for two). We went à la carte. The quality and taste of the dishes are undeniably high, but the portions are quite small. So either keep the prices with larger portions, or lower the prices while keeping the dishes small, allowing you to try more items; at the moment, they feel more like “bites” than full courses. Aside from this, the place is absolutely worth a visit: both the food and the view make the trip worthwhile—maybe next time staying in one of the suites for the full experience. Let me start by saying that I was here for lunch and did not stay at the hotel. The location is beautiful, surrounded by nature, with a breathtaking view of Lake Orta. So either they maintain these prices with larger portions, or they lower the prices by keeping the dishes small so you can also try other dishes; for now, we can consider them more like "bites" than actual courses. This detail aside, the place is definitely worth a visit: the quality and view are worth the trip, perhaps in the future staying in one of the suites to enjoy the full experience.

25/08/2025: Not worth the price. The chef’s tasting menu consisted only of vegetarian dishes, save for the last dish of the night. That’s great if you like vegetarian food, not so if you’re a meat eater, also not so for the price. The cocktails were superb. Everything else was just okay - lacking in depth. Food aside, the service was lovely (the blankets provided were divine) and the setting was beautiful. Would I go back? Maybe but stay away from the chef’s table - it’s was not worth it in our minds.

02/11/2025: The food here was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced! The pizza had a perfect thin crust with fresh toppings and just the right amount of cheese. The seafood was fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection especially the mixed prawns fry. The breads were soft, warm, and freshly baked bit salty love it They also serve a special homemade tiramisu which was creamy, rich, and simply outstanding. the perfect way to end the meal. The service was very nice and friendly. the owner were attentive, welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience. great food, great service, and great value for money. Highly recommended!

29/10/2025: The pizza was really delicious! The server/owner was very nice and friendly. A minor drawback: the espresso was extremely bitter and, unfortunately, the Baccio Dama cookies were stale and tasted like shoe leather... Maybe they should remove cookies from the menu. 😅

11/07/2025: Business lunch for €14 with water and coffee. Mediocre value; there are better options in the area. Convenient parking, best to book. It's a small detour on the main road to Bellinzona. A special mention goes to the 1-liter bottled water.

02/11/2025: We went to Pinin restaurant a few weeks ago to celebrate my 30th birthday. We had a lovely table with friends and family, and despite the large number, the service was excellent. Since it was a birthday, we opted for a set menu, which everyone loved. Excellent food, fast service, and super helpful staff. I recommend it to everyone!!

22/08/2025: I went there three times during my stay in Orta San Diego, just for breakfast with my son. A more than adorable welcome, attentive waitresses, a cappuccino to die for, and very reasonable prices (€1.60 for a cappuccino). The cafeteria opens at 8:00 a.m., a time when you can easily park in the free white spaces. Finally, behind it, you can sit in the quiet garden.
