16/11/2025: Poor food, frozen fish (there were no asterisks on the menu), greasy pizza. The seafood carbonara was not a real carbonara. Not recommended.

04/11/2025: I went there last night with my girlfriend. I found the atmosphere truly welcoming, with extremely friendly staff. I was also pleased to meet the owner, who is down-to-earth and very friendly. The menu offers a wide selection of appetizers, first courses (both seafood and meat), second courses, desserts, wines, and soft drinks on tap. One thing that particularly struck me, as a lover of fried food, was the small plates on the menu, including French fries, stuffed olives, mozzarella sticks, potato croquettes, and chicken nuggets. In short, the menu certainly doesn't disappoint! Another plus: despite the place being quite busy, the preparation time was perfect. Regarding the dishes, we had a pizza bianca with roast potatoes and a calzone. Both were delicious, perfectly cooked, with neither soft nor crunchy dough, and both light. I'll give a thumbs up to the calzone; it wasn't too full, with 7 kg of filling, but it was delicate, and when you get to the last few pieces, you don't feel too full. Last but not least, the profiteroles and berry cheesecake—nothing to say, simply wonderful! Finally, the prices are more than reasonable; for the quality/quantity ratio, it's definitely worth it. I highly recommend it, if you're not local and happen to be there, to try it at least once. Congratulations! ❤️

08/08/2025: We agreed on the menu price for 11 people, everything was good, a great evening, and they even offered me sparkling wine because it was my birthday.

30/07/2025: We dined here with 10 people. It's a local restaurant with a local atmosphere and a genuine Italian feel. The flavors of the dishes were delicious; we had a wonderful evening.

27/11/2025: We were there for lunch; I don't know if people have taste buds or if they swallow everything like animals. Let's start with the place: zero positives, tons of negatives (cleanliness, mess, stench, disrepair), and there are more. Wait: an hour and a half from arrival to the first course (a first course, a second course, and coffee), 3 hours in total. The food: a soup kitchen is a Michelin-starred restaurant in comparison. Spaghetti allo scoglio made with frozen pasta (if I make it at home, I make it better) because it's not the fault of the pasta, but of whoever makes it; pre-cooked pasta that was cooked terribly. The fritto misto: evidently reheated in hot oil, it looked like a leather insole, and the French fries were empty inside, something I've never seen before. If you want to try it, go, but bring plenty of toilet paper rolls. I'm not planning on going back.

06/09/2025: Napoli food at its best! Great people and great food naturally. This is the best pizza and fried fish place in Pisa/ Livorno area by far. Always consistent and always the best ingredients.

27/08/2025: We've been coming here for over 20 years and can only say good things about it, as the family who owns it has always been very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely return in the coming years, as it feels like home to us.

29/08/2025: Unfortunately, the osteria isn't open 24/7, as Google Maps states. We arrived at 2:20 PM, and the kitchen was already closed until 6:30 PM.

27/09/2025: I waited till the beginning of September, I was extremely happy, i visited a friend we decided to spend some time at the beach club, one of the best decisions !!!! We ended up having a aperitivo, delightful, warm welcome even in the end of season, drinks to die for, we started light with Aperol Spritz, an other friend joined us and he ordered a Vodka Martini with twits fantastic service, knowledgeable bartender, everyone spoke English, a plus because my two friends did not speak Italian. We later had Negroni, Old Fashioned and a Manhattan, let me tell you as professional Bartender I can tell you those drinks were made to perfection. We decided to eat, that turned into a sublime experience, we asked Francesco ( Owner ) if he could put some appetizers together for us and sure he did it, light crispy Fritto misto, un crudo di Gamberi Rossi di Mazzara Del Vallo, and for one of us that asked for something not from the see Carpaccio di filetto con crema di tartufo. Everything was in the company of a cold bottle of Gavi Di Gavi La Scolca. At that point we decided to have the owner to go a head and decide for the main dish……. Whole branzino for 2 roasted side of spinach, carrots, string beans and one Fillet mignon all cooked to perfection we asked for red and white wine and they brought one bottle of : Chianti Classico l”Aura and a bottle of Gavi Castellari Bergaglio. Fantastic dinner all together. Francesco offered us a bottle of Cozza Prosecco extra dry at the end the dinner. Which was perfect because got us ready for wafter dinner drinks, Macallan 12 years old scotch whisky. All of it including the service was superb experience, not to mention the honest prices. If you ever in Pisa, Livorno, Florence or anywhere close by you must try this fantastic establishment.

20/09/2025: It's excellent, it also has a gym.

12/12/2025: We had booked for December 5th until the 9th, the reservation was confirmed, but when we arrived there the hotel was closed, there was a caretaker, who knew absolutely nothing, they said that the day before, they tried to call us by phone, but since it was an unknown number we did not answer, but they did not think, to send an email absolutely not, luckily then we found another accommodation.

07/07/2025: 24.05.30 They made such a pizza and carbonara that our ears were ringing! I think it's a family business. A nice cold Peroni beer went with everything. We arrived early, nothing was open yet, around 5 o'clock in the afternoon, but they politely offered us a seat. Other diners were even spreading the tablecloth and looking at us like a pyromaniac at a wet straw. We sat down and could order, and we got it 10 minutes later, since it was just us. The pizza was heavenly, my son licked my carbonara and ate it up. Good place!!!***** And the point: we paid under 50 erika with more drinks for the 3 of us!

07/09/2025: Very nice place that deserves to be known for its cuisine and the kindness of the waitress who made the effort to speak French. Everything is perfect. A fantastic €25 menu. Too bad to be so far away....

30/11/2025: We visited Taverna del Grillo for a family lunch and were truly impressed. From the moment we arrived, the welcoming atmosphere was palpable, typical of establishments where attentive service is a priority. From appetizers to dessert, every dish was a pleasant surprise: fresh ingredients, balanced flavors, and generous portions. You could sense the passion of those working in the kitchen and their dedication to maintaining high quality in every course. The staff was also immediately friendly and attentive, always available for a chat and to recommend the best dishes of the day. We had such a great time that we decided to return for a very special occasion: our baby's reception, with about 50 guests. Organizing an event like this is never easy, but the Taverna del Grillo staff demonstrated impeccable professionalism. From the first contact to the day of the reception, everything was handled with professionalism, precision, and great availability. The waiters were incredibly kind before, during, and after the event, always ready to accommodate any request with a smile and a truly rare level of care. A special thanks goes to Rachele, who oversaw the entire organization with expertise, attention, and infinite patience. Thanks to her and the entire team, we and our guests had a perfect time, appreciated by all. For the quality of the food, the kindness of the staff, and the excellent organization, Taverna del Grillo truly deserves a special mention. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place where they can feel at home, pampered, and served with professionalism. We will definitely be back!

09/11/2025: We were truly impressed by our experience at this restaurant. The welcome was warm from the first moment: the kind and attentive staff immediately made us feel at ease. The food is prepared with great care. We noticed the attention to detail and the quality of the ingredients in every dish. The dishes are not only delicious, but also beautifully presented. The atmosphere is very pleasant: refined, elegant, perfect for a romantic dinner, an evening with friends, or even for events. A place we will gladly return to for the atmosphere, quality, and professionalism.
