27/07/2025: We had an awful experience!! I rarely think it’s worth writing a review, but this is close to comical. Ambiance is not bad, you’re on the water overlooking the harbor - but the trash cans right next to the deck is not great. It’s Italy and you gotta love the local vibe but the bees 🐝 it brings was a nuisance for everyone. All patrons were fighting them off and it almost became funny. This would all have been bearable if it wasn’t for the fact the food was really terrible. We had two pasta seafood dishes and both had the stench of rancid shellfish. We had all but one bite and knew eating more would make us sick. We will see… Oh - and it may seem silly to say this but one of the dishes had a big black hair on top. Seriously… you can’t make this up. They took all our food away untouched and never asked the obvious question — if everything was ok. Which may indicate they’re used to bringing full plates of food back to the kitchen. So - maybe just a bad night - but I’d stay clear of this place if I were you. ** upon reading owners response: Dear owner. Thank you for your response. I tried to talk to the manager yesterday but no one was around when I paid our bill. Maybe I should clarify as I find your reply totally inaccurate. How you respond to your customers giving you feedback is up to you, but let’s set the record straight; 1. Our wonderful hotel called your restaurant to see if we could get a later reservation, and when you said that was not possible - we happily obliged and arrived on time. We did not just do a “no show” as that would not have been fair to you. 2. You are correct in that we did politely ask the waiter for a different table when we arrived at 19:30 as the restaurant was empty and we - a family of 6 (2 adults and 4 kids ages 10-14) were seated next to a set of garbage cans with wasps swirling. Our waiter said he would check, but never got back to us with an answer so we proceeded with our meal at that table. 3. We were nothing but polite to our waiter no issue with him - and your comment about ripping the wine menu off his hands is a lie. Once we had ordered food he took all the menus - I asked for the wine menu back as we had yet to order wine with our food… I do not wish to engage in a back and forth. I am simply sharing our experience - which is what reviews are for. Hopefully our experience was a one off, and you continue to thrive - I would want nothing more for you and your restaurant. If there is anything you can take from this customer experience, then great. If you choose not to - thats your call. I still wish you and your business nothing but prosperity and happy customers.

13/07/2025: Tuvimos una experiencia bastante inusual en este restaurante. Tan pronto como nos sentamos, notamos que había un gato trepando por el techo. En un momento dado, el gato incluso acabó dentro de un armario de porcelana, algo que no es exactamente lo que se esperaría de un comedor. El menú era extremadamente limitado, lo que nos dio muy pocas opciones para elegir. Cuando finalmente llegó la comida (después de una larga espera), la presentación parecía la que verías en una fiesta de cumpleaños infantil: muy básica y nada apetitosa. El pan estaba duro y, en general, el emplatado carecía de imaginación. En el lado positivo, el personal fue amable y acogedor, especialmente con los turistas, lo cual apreciamos. La comida, a pesar de todo, al menos se servía caliente y las bebidas estaban refrescantemente frías. Sin embargo, la experiencia en general fue decepcionante y no volvería. Una comida caliente y un servicio amable no son suficientes para compensar el resto.

15/06/2025: ambiente molto accogliente situato lungo il fiume di Ansedonia e ben gestito da due simpatiche ragazze molto attente con il cliente il tutto in una location invidiabile . Tutto fresco e gustoso. se cercate la classica pasta alle vongole o il pesce arrosto non e questo il posto , il menù consiste in Panini, insalate, centrifugati e spremute io ho preso una Caesar Salad dirrei fantastica e abbondante prezzi abbordabili

03/08/2025: Excellent restaurant. We were a table of 11 with a variety of orders (some ordered fish, some meat, some appetizer and main course, some first and second course, etc.). We were all satisfied, and best of all, despite the restaurant being full, we all ate together (which is not to be taken for granted). Excellent quality.

02/08/2025: Terrible experience, not recommended. I ordered a seafood salad and it arrived... with bresaola. After sending it back, I asked the waitress if the shrimp were fresh or frozen: she assured me confidently that they were fresh. Obviously, they were frozen, and not even good quality. The final salad arrived with these shrimp accompanied by chickpeas that were clearly taken from a jar, still full of their liquid. Finally, pointing this out, the owner—rather than apologize—sarcastically replied: "Yes, the chickpeas were in the jar... but they were glass. So they were good." Recommended 👍🏻

14/07/2025: Incompetenti spaghetti con le vongole ? Non persistite vongole nel piatto se mai dei lupini sgusciati congelati .. mai mangiato male così senza un minimo di sapore di mare e er altro spaghetti verdi allucinante il uovo deve assolutamente andare a fare il bagnino che è meglio

11/07/2025: Castiglione della Pescaia, mare stupendo, pescherecci a due passi, eppure riescono a servire pesce che sembra arrivare da una mensa scolastica dimenticata degli anni ’80. Complimenti. Cominciamo con l’“invitante” trilogia di alici. Sì, tre alici. Sempre le stesse, semplicemente impiattate in modo diverso per far scena. Stoppose, dure, con la coda ancora attaccata che ti ritrovi in bocca come un amo da sputare. Ma che vi costa almeno tagliarla? Penso: dai, magari capita, saranno finite le buone. Arriva il secondo: calamaro in guazzetto. Gommoso da fare invidia a una suola di scarpa, salato da prosciugarti le labbra. Una vera impresa culinaria: rendere immangiabile anche un calamaro fresco in un paese di mare. E ora la parte peggiore: nessuno chiede niente. Né un “tutto bene?”, né uno sguardo curioso sul piatto lasciato pieno. La sala e la cucina sapevano bene cosa stavano servendo, ma l’importante era incassare. Mi hanno preso i soldi con la stessa gentilezza con cui uno butta una cartaccia nel cestino. Non mi aspettavo lo sconto, ma almeno una faccia seria. Un minimo di rispetto per chi esce di casa sperando di mangiare bene. In una località così ricca di pesce vero, di tradizione, è criminale servire piatti simili. Un affronto alla cucina di mare. 31/07/2025: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ La Grotta del Pescatore is a little gem hidden in Porto Ercole. The place is beautiful and, compared to other restaurants, has a special touch: it's secluded and has a tranquil, special atmosphere. The staff is extremely kind and highly qualified, always ready to offer the best advice. The fish is incredibly fresh and the quality/price ratio is truly excellent. A perfect place for those seeking an authentic and relaxing seaside experience.

27/07/2025: Pizzeria in the center of Santo Stefano with really good pizza, light dough, and fresh ingredients. It's a shame the wait was so long, even though the place wasn't very busy. Service was friendly but slow.

21/07/2025: Locale perfetto per una cena informale ed economica per gli standard del posto. Abbiamo provato il piatto con la burrata e le bruschette, ma fanno anche insalatone e pizza. Servizio gentile e veloce. La fila per sedersi, se presente, scorre velocemente.

06/08/2025: At ikke denne restauranten har fått bedre anmeldelser får meg til å lure. Vi måtte dog vente en stund på maten de gangene vi var der, men når den kom så smakte det utsøkt. Vi bestilte både sjømat, biff og pizza i løpet av oppholdet vårt, og vi skal definitivt bestille det igjen! Sjømaten og pizzaen var helt nydelig. Den ene dagen var det også underholdning av en gammeldags klovn på Toreg rett ved siden av - det ga et ekstra kult preg til besøket! Veldig stemningssettenye underholdning og flott show

04/08/2025: Se cercate un ristorante con una vista da cartolina che vi faccia dimenticare di mangiare bene, La Scesa è il vostro posto ideale. L’oste ci accoglie con quell’aria da “so tutto io” e, quando chiediamo di sederci comodi a un tavolo da otto (eravamo in quattro, mica un esercito), ci piazza vicino a una pianta super appuntita. Per chi ama il brivido del “pungiglione a sorpresa” mentre mastica, è un’esperienza unica. Ordiniamo pappardelle al cinghiale e paccheri, ma sorpresa! Finite entrambe le paste. Ci viene data come alternativa una pasta diversa, tipo spaghetti al posto delle pappardelle, che diciamolo, non è proprio la stessa esperienza. Nessuna comunicazione preventiva, nessuna proposta decente: quando faccio notare con ironia, il cameriere risponde sminuendo la situazione. Momento cult della serata: il cameriere porta il mio piatto e, invece di dire “pappardelle al cinghiale”, annuncia “tipo terra”. Buttando l’occhio ho capito che fosse per me. Nome creativo, ma poco invitante. Faccio il primo boccone e se il cinghiale fosse un supereroe, qui è una povera comparsa nascosta che non sa di niente e fa solo da contorno alla cornice e sapeva di carne macinata generica, forse l’avevano scambiata per polpettine da mensa. Gli altri puntano su una frittura di calamari… in quantità ridotta, accompagnata da lime. Sì, lime. Quel frutto che dovrebbe esaltare i sapori, ma qui ha fatto il lavoro opposto: ha coperto tutto, come una diva che ruba la scena. Sul fronte servizio, lavorando anche io nella ristorazione faccio un applauso alle scelte: portare i bicchieri senza vassoi e, peggio ancora, appoggiare il vassoio sul tavolo. Per i non addetti, è un po’ come portare un piatto di spaghetti e buttarli sul pavimento con stile. Morale? Se volete una vista da urlo e siete pronti a digiunare o a mangiare roba da fast food mascherata da gourmet, La Scesa fa per voi. Se invece cercate cibo che meriti il viaggio, cercate altrove.

03/08/2025: I had spaghetti with clams... they were very hard. The glasses were damaged and needed replacing. Nice atmosphere with a terrace overlooking the harbor. The price was high for the quality. I wouldn't go back.
