Take a couple steps away from the amphitheater and look out for this gem. Great food and wine with hospitable staff. Prices are reasonable and not too touristy.

Mama Mia! The chicken was to die for, I was moments away from marrying the cook right on the spot before my girlfriend swiftly finished her food and decided to ask for the bill. I think she sensed the competition 👀. But in all seriousness it was a cute little place with quick and excellent service and both of our meals were extraordinary. 11/10.

We enjoyed the most delicious meal at Osteria San Giorgio both having beef with crème fraiche and green peppercorn sauce and a side of roasted potatoes. A bottle of red wine too. Absolutely delicious. Sat in the outside area and watched the people wander to and fro. Lovely staff. Last year we came back to Lucca and also this year, both times we had lunch here, (twice each visit) and the restaurant is still a favourite. Thanks for the cake for Riccardo’s birthday.

Excellent green pepper steak and zucchini flan! The place is welcoming, with outdoor tables under umbrellas and a small courtyard surrounded by exposed brick walls. Fairy lights complete the ambiance, making it a real treat. Inside, the place is discreet, not particularly distinctive, but neat and clean. The staff is friendly and professional.
