27/08/2024: This little restaurant never gets boring! This year I tried a little bit of everything. Very fresh fish, fried crispy and piping hot. Quick service, courteous staff. Very convenient location: in front of the sea, Piazza Cab0to height. It doesn't accept reservations: I recommend going as soon as it opens, because after a while a nice queue starts to build up and the place is tiny. I can't wait to go back!!!! I especially recommend cuopparello with anchovies and calamari. But also pasta omelette and rice ball. Thank you!!!!! Third year we come to Gaeta: Mare fritto is a fixed stop!!!

27/08/2024: I stayed for 7 days in the central August week, village directly on the sea, well equipped, efficient bungalows, but the only flaw was the bathroom was very small. Tell you about the food, I also included half board in the package, delicious food with impeccable dining room staff, always polite and super kind. I highly recommend this village, before choosing the room or bungalow go there to choose the one that best suits your needs.

22/08/2024: Super private beach, top-notch facilities, we haven't found anything better, however there is a severe increase in prices, count €50 for 2 deckchairs, 1 parasol and 1 parking space. It stings! Updated August 2024 Prices have increased again 2 parasols 4 deckchairs 1 car that’s €110!!!!!!!!!! It becomes indecent and borders on theft. To this you add the lunch Caprese salad (tomato mozzarella) for €10, fruit salad for €5 per bottle of water and small coffee... for 4 people you'll find yourself between €150 and €200 per day. We will have to stop taking the tourist for a pigeon So yes it's good, it's clean (although the showers need to be redone) but it's not as expensive. Besides, there are fewer people than before, so ask yourself the right questions ❓️

05/08/2024: Super recommended restaurant, you need to book.... Excellent and fresh food... Very fresh octopus, very good first courses... Divine gnocchi and also the package with swordfish and aubergines... Delicious mussel and clam soup Generous portions and fair bill.. Highly recommended

30/07/2024: During a visit to a beautiful beach in Gaeta, I found myself stuck in traffic on the way back. On the recommendation of a local bar, I decided to stop for dinner at this restaurant. At first I was a little hesitant, fearing that it was a gourmet restaurant and therefore very expensive. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is cared for down to the smallest detail and the staff is numerous and attentive. The food was truly delicious, with generous portions that fully satisfied my appetite. I left the restaurant with a full belly and a great sense of satisfaction. Furthermore, the service was quick and the prices were very affordable. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in the area. It was an excellent dining experience that I will definitely repeat.

01/09/2024: La classica trattoria di pesce anni 80! Soute di cozze 10 euro Insalata di polipo 16 euro Pacchero alla ricciola 18 euro (molto buono) Il posto non è bellissimo, ero praticamente fuori dal ristorante al ridosso di un marciapiede... ma al compenso la la signora che ci ha servito era dolcissima e i piatti non erano male! Avrei evitato di servire già il limone premuto sul polipo perché a non tutti piace. A due passi dalla spiaggia! Tra le 3 stelle e mezzo e le 4.. di 4 per la gentilezza della signora e il pacchero alla ricciola!

30/08/2024: Abbiamo cenato in famiglia e siamo rimasti tutti e 4 non soddisfatti...di più. Frittura atomica, insalata di polipo 🔝 pacchero alla Gaetana gustoso, ricco.. ma la pasta alla pescatora da sogno. Ottima l' orata, superfresca! Non lo consiglio ma lo straconsiglio! É stata una scoperta, uno dei migliori ristoranti di pesce che ho provato..e noi viviamo vicino al mare! Complimenti!

16/08/2024: I don't even know where to start, but I would like to start from the only positive note, even if not too positive... the place! We were 7 people on holiday in Gaeta and we were looking for a quiet place similar to a Roman hosteria that could satisfy adults, children and vegetarians. We found this place on Google and from the menu description we decided to go. As soon as we arrived we noticed that it is located on an uphill road, a little dangerous because cars pass by and it is narrow... but upon entering the place it immediately makes a good impression on us, fresh, tidy, clean and all the foods on display in the shop windows, from fish to fruit, but this is where the problems begin... we had booked for 7 and they prepared a table for 5, once seated at the table we noticed that in the room where we were there it was at least 20 degrees and considering that all outside there were at least 32, we ask to lower it a bit because they were starting to get cold...we look at the menus, some of the figures are affordable, others are not...since it's 10.30pm they ask us not to choose elaborate food because the kitchen was in closing, so we book appetizers and pizzas. In the meantime, no one turns down the air conditioning, my mother-in-law was feeling unwell and my 8 year old daughter was shivering with cold, we called back to have it turned down. The dishes arrived after about 30 minutes, the Atratino starter was very good, the pizzas were some very good, others a little chewy, but the peppery mussels left something to be desired... the mussels were as small as 5 cents and many were empty . My partner orders a glass of house wine for €5 from a second waiter, 5/10/15/20/30 minutes pass and we see him wandering around the room and looking at us from time to time, whereupon he is asked again for the glass, he brings it to us after another 5 minutes and it was 2 fingers of wine!!!!! At this point we ask to speak to the room manager to understand and he arrives directly with the bottle of wine to fill the glass and from this we understood that not all the waiters are trained for service. We finished dinner and no one ever turned down the air conditioning, we were cold, some with a headache and some with a stomach ache (from indigestion), we women went towards the exit to smoke a cigarette and in the meantime, we almost came hit by a car, which as I said before is a dangerous road! The men pay and return with a bill that makes your head spin, but leaving aside the food... what shocked us the most was the price of 1 LITER OF COCA COLA 6.00! I hope you can have a better experience than ours 😅

27/08/2024: Ti trovi a Gaeta, tanti locali uno attaccato all’altro, optiamo per questo, a parte che faceva un caldo assurdo e mi chiedo come nel 2024 ancora non si adeguano a mettere dei condizionati e non dei miseri ventilatori, accoglienza misera, come a dire c’è quel tavolo libero mettetevi lì!! Confusione molta tra il personale dove erano confusi nonostante il locale non era pieno, noi abbiamo preso due pizze, prezzi che sono accessibili, le pizze erano buone, il servizio meno, in ogni caso il locale avrà anche una cinquantina di anni, però bisogna stare a spasso nei tempi

24/08/2024: Let's start with the glass glasses, dirty with lipstick, I asked to change them and they gave me the dirty ones back. We ordered spaghetti with mussels, the mussels themselves were good but the spaghetti were full of oil, it was spaghetti with garlic, oil and chilli pepper with the mussels placed on top. Paccheri with cod and olives: 10 paccheri counted, cooked very aldente and 3 olives inside. Horrible don't go there

10/09/2023: Have eaten here twice and was disappointed both times but it was the second visit which prompted this review. No printed menu and the q code did not work they keep all the meat on display and you choose which you want and tell them the weight. Both my companions steaks were very overcooked when both had asked for rare, the meat was very poor quality with a surprising amount of fat which was not visible when they made their selection and quite a lot of gristle so both of them left around half of the steak. I ordered a pork steak which ,again, was very overcooked and had been just put on the plate swimming in overused oil which tasted stale. To accompany this we all had “chips” . These turned out to be thin curls of potato that appeared to have been cooked that morning then reheated in a microwave to say they were dry would have been an understatement but they were lovely and soft and chewy . Nothing else on the plate except the puddle of stale oil. This was the most expensive meal we had €146 this included a bottle of extremely mediocre wine. Service is very very slow we sat down and were ignored for around 20 minutes the food took another half hour or so to arrive the bill on the other hand arrived in seconds. There appeared to be only one person serving who was the owner who is incapable of focusing on you as he constantly talks to other tables or interrupting to seat new arrivals

25/08/2023: Beautiful location. We had an aperitif at sunset and it was very suggestive. Few people and quiet delighted us with a glass of spritz and the delicate saucer served included in the price. Overall excellent, even if we are used to more abundant dishes 🤣
