05/06/2025: I stopped by Marinato Trieste during a visit to the city and I was thrilled. The restaurant overlooks the sea, with a splendid view that alone is worth the stop. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff is courteous and knowledgeable, always attentive without ever being intrusive. The Neapolitan pizza is really well made: soft, digestible dough, with original proposals and quality ingredients. I tried the pistachio and mortadella one and it was one of the best I have ever tasted. The seafood cuisine also deserves a mention: well-prepared dishes, generous portions and very fresh fish. The appetizers and selection of local wines are also excellent. Prices in line with the quality and location. Quick service, clean and very well-kept environment. I will definitely go back on my next visit to Trieste. Absolutely recommended both for those looking for a good pizza and for those who want to enjoy fish dishes in an elegant but informal setting. Congratulations!

10/06/2025: Dinner with my wife, a show. Finally a place where cooking is passion and not just profit. Everything perfect, from the service to the appetizers to the dessert. It's rare that I ask to meet the chef to give him my compliments in person, and this is one of those times. Well done to him, his team and those who manage the place, because to make everything work so flawlessly is not easy, well done also to all the waiters, always kind, fast and helpful. If you pass by Trieste, have a dinner here, you won't regret it, I will also remember this dinner with my wife among the beauties of the city. Thank you.

28/06/2025: In the area for work we stop at this restaurant for lunch as it is close to the hotel where we are staying. Tables in the garden with a tent, the atmosphere is very nice even if when it is hot you can hear it a lot down there. A menu is not brought, a few dishes are offered, a take-away menu brought only after ordering and we discover many other dishes not offered. As advice I would say to leave a complete menu to the customer, at most the variations of the day are exposed verbally. Cacio e pepe unfortunately too liquid, while the squid ink is good. Very small bathroom along the corridor. The service is however kind and present. I count for a total of €40 per person, I do not argue about the amount, but since I did not have a menu the prices are not known, if you also give me a total amount without a detail the customer will never know the cost of each individual course.

02/05/2025: Unfortunately I cannot be satisfied. The room has an awning above, the ground is uneven, the bathroom is unwatchable and therefore not a good environment. The food is decent - the chef has several certificates on display - but with several defects (meatballs not good, cod not good, rest ok) but the service is done by elderly people who are not up to par with poor service. Dirty cup of cheap coffee. I don't recommend

28/06/2025: Unpretentious, authentic, cheap, delicious. Returned 2 years later. Why is food now served on ridiculous long narrow rectangular plates? Also… dogs allowed in the dining room!

26/04/2025: Locale defilato dal centro quasi non si nota , ma appena si entra si nota il calore di un locale alla mano ma gestito con amore . La signora viene al tavolo munita di blocchetto dove elenca i piatti del giorno è confermo la freschezza e la qualità del pesce . Pesce che viene cotto secondo la tradizione e con passione dal cuoco che è anche proprietario del locale . Che dire , buon cibo , ambiente informale e cortesia : mix vincente per noi! Torneremo più che volentieri

26/05/2025: A fantastic seafood lunch in Trieste included grilled octopus on burrata and fritto mista pesce. Delicious. Not cheap but good quality.

08/06/2025: A very cozy trattoria in a wonderful location right next to the lighthouse. From the outdoor dining area, you have a magnificent view of the sea! The seafood dishes (and all the others) are delicious, and the service is top-notch – very professional and (child-)friendly! Advance reservations (especially on weekends) are recommended, if only because of the somewhat remote location. Combine this culinary delight with a visit to the Lighthouse (at least from Friday to Sunday – the lighthouse is only open to visitors on these three days). It's definitely worth it: from the lighthouse (accessible via steps or elevator), you have a wonderful view of Trieste – and it's free!

03/06/2025: yummy local pastries and great macchiato! Not a ton of space inside but there’s a small outdoor seating area too and it was not busy when we went at around 8:30-9 am

03/06/2025: an absolutely unique place. one of the few with preserved original interior. wooden buildings, chandeliers as if taken from the Titanic, details in the grooves or old posters or labels on bottles in the display windows create the atmosphere of this place. it is worth visiting precisely because of the characteristic decor, which creates a unique atmosphere. wood combined with burgundy finish, golden accessories warming the interior, tables placed in shutters. in addition, delicious monoportions, as beautiful as the interior. time has literally stopped here - not only in terms of vintage decorations, but also because you do not feel the passage of time and you can linger. be sure to add this cafe to your "must see in Trieste" list!

30/05/2025: This was a great place! The food was fantastic! Lovely atmosphere outside in the shade! The scallops were amazing and the pasta with wild boar was outstanding! Great service ! Would highly recommend recommend!

18/05/2025: Lovely restaurant with an excellent location. Service was good however the fish main courses were poor (not fresh) and rather expensive. Sides of vegetables were good and the salad was okay.

06/05/2025: Imperatore - Champagneria & Vineria es un gran lugar para una auténtica comida italiana. Tomamos la primera reserva un domingo por la noche (porque viajábamos con niños) y el restaurante permaneció vacío hasta alrededor de las 8 pm. Los menús de comida y bebida están escritos en italiano, y usamos google translate para las definiciones. Si bien no había un menú formal para niños, ofrecían un pasado "largo o corto" (fideos lingüísticos o espirales) con salsa roja o blanca. Disfruté de que había poco o nada de inglés, ya que la experiencia se sentía como el verdadero negocio. Teníamos dos grandes botellas de prosecco para acompañar la comida. El ambiente de la noche anterior (sábado) cuando metimos la cabeza era acogedor y animado, con el olor a ajo que se derramó por las puertas y ventanas abiertas a la calle mientras pasabas (lo que nos atrajo a probarlo la noche siguiente!). Sin duda recomiendo una reserva si intenta cenar un viernes o sábado!

26/06/2025: Food was really tasty. Seafood was fresh. The only thing is that the waiter brought us water, didn’t mention that they are not free, and charged us for it later… otherwise it is the best restaurant I had in Trieste.

26/06/2025: Restaurant for tourists. Medium-high prices, medium-low quality of food. Marinated mussels and seafood spaghetti unlikely, grilled calamari passable, fillet with green pepper decent.

23/05/2025: We were here two nights in a row and we were a very large group. Nevertheless, the pizzeria reserved a room for us and the service was fast. The waitress was very nice. The first night we had pasta with tomato sauce and then chicken legs with chips. The second night they gave us pasta with tomato sauce again and as a second course we had hamburgers and French fries. The hamburger was not a great success... The tiramisu and the profiteroles are highly recommended. I did not give the maximum rating to the environment because in the innermost room there is no cell phone reception.
