While strolling around Trieste, we weren't sure where to stop for lunch. We were drawn to this trattoria, and we were truly in luck. Truly delicious food, impeccable service. The menu is seafood-based. Very friendly service and fair prices. Recommended.

The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. We had two appetizers, octopus and creamed cod—the latter is a must-try—two first courses, tagliolini with broccoli and clams and tagliolini with seafood, a tiramisu, water, and wine. Reasonably priced. Recommended.

After leaving the Revoltella Museum, we stopped here. The atmosphere is welcoming, as are the owners. Excellent food and wines. Delicious desserts.

Let me start by saying that my wife and I are regulars. We dined at Al Collio for New Year's Eve, opting for the meat menu. And, as always, we were satisfied. For us, it feels like home. Whether you come for lunch or dinner, know that they cook everything freshly. So if you're in a hurry, this isn't the place for you. Thank you for making our New Year's Eve a wonderful experience. The only downside was our neighbors at the table (Mrs. Sandra G., as she signed her review), who didn't seem to be happy with anything, and they also annoyed us with their attitude. 09/04/2026: Great experience for lunch today 😊 Super fresh crab, just like the snapper we had for main course...simply sublime and impeccably cooked 👌💫 Very friendly and welcoming. We'll be back as soon as possible 😊✨️
14/03/2026: I had dinner with my husband at Massimo's and left the trattoria happy! Despite it being a distinctly rustic place, we ate incredibly fresh, impeccably cooked fish. Don't expect experimental cuisine, but it's definitely honest and respectful of the ingredients! The mussoli were delicious, the gnocchi with spider crab were delicate and flavorful. The linguine with caperozzoli (small clams) was stellar. And then for the main course, a very rare small fish, perfectly boned and fried (menore). The strudel made by his wife (who serves with kindness and charm) made the evening a perfect end. In conclusion: a small restaurant with a typical family-run trattoria atmosphere, warm welcome and fast service, stellar ingredients, simple and delicious cuisine, and a very extensive menu, especially fish-based. The house wine was more than good. We'll definitely return.

28/12/2025: Quaint atmosphere, excellent hot chocolate and capo in B, friendly and attentive service. Seating isn't always available, but it's worth a try. Recommended!!
