A very charming little osteria. The antipasti were especially excellent, but the other courses were also delicious. Definitely recommended for a casual lunch!

Unfortunately, dining in front of the door on May 1st was a bit like being outside (15°C). I don't like eating on the bus, and this was the case (and not just me...). Too many tables were sacrificed. The fish was excellent, as was the wine. But I couldn't wait to get back to the hotel to warm up.

Everything about this place was 10/10 . The servers were welcoming and the seafood was amazing. I was in Trieste for two nights and regretted not going for a second round. Absolutely delicious! I also wasn’t sure how to order the cold appetizer but I will for next time!

We called the same day (Saturday) and the very kind lady found us a table. The fish was fresh and very well cooked. Excellent value for money. Recommended.

If you want to eat good fish dishes, this little osteria is for you. It's a bit cramped, but the atmosphere is welcoming, the staff are helpful, the prices are fair, and the food is slurpable!

A warm and welcoming osteria-style place... seafood, of course! Because at Osteria Salvagente you'll only find seafood, and the seafood parmigiana, where you'll find fried sardines instead of cheese, is a prime example. Excellent value for money and prompt, prompt service. Wine selections... not just local ones. The menu is only on a blackboard, and nothing is specified for appetizers, as you choose. A variety of hot and cold appetizers with unusual pairings. A herring with chickpeas, julienned carrots, and red onion won us over with its blend of well-balanced flavors. Tasty fish soup... pappardelle alla busara with plenty of sauce, and the panna cotta was tops!

A wonderfully traditional, authentic restaurant with excellent food! Incredibly friendly and helpful staff! The ambiance is unique! It's reminiscent of an old harbor tavern! Simply a place to relax and enjoy! A real hidden gem! It's frequented mainly by locals from Trieste! Special requests are happily accommodated! We will definitely be back! Thank you so much for the excellent service! This evening will remain a very positive memory for all of us!

10/03/2026: This restaurant, with a wood-fired oven and outdoor grills in the summer, has one of those summer terraces under the stars that's worth three times the price of a table. From the university hill, the view is remarkable, the kind that makes you crane your neck over your dinner to admire it. It's been run by the same family all their lives. It's always been a benchmark for the quality and deliciousness of its pizzas: dough with just the right fermentation, a wood-fired oven that does its job, and honest cuisine based on experience, consistency, and zero unnecessary complications. For those unfamiliar with the pizza menu: the Manuel pizza, with shredded meat, abundant arugula, and shaved parmesan, is unique, fragrant, and surprisingly light. On the other end of the spectrum is the Zola e Pancetta: a burst of strong, crunchy, and memorable flavors. It's not shy, but not arrogant, either, despite being memorable. The first courses deserve attention. There's often excellent fresh homemade pasta, and after a couple of forkfuls, you immediately realize that Grandma is still busy in the kitchen. Then, for the meat, between the griddle and the grill, Mr. Toni steps in. And there, you're on the safe side. A guarantee.

07/02/2026: Let me start by saying that my wife and I are regulars. We dined at Al Collio for New Year's Eve, opting for the meat menu. And, as always, we were satisfied. For us, it feels like home. Whether you come for lunch or dinner, know that they cook everything freshly. So if you're in a hurry, this isn't the place for you. Thank you for making our New Year's Eve a wonderful experience. The only downside was our neighbors at the table (Mrs. Sandra G., as she signed her review), who didn't seem to be happy with anything, and they also annoyed us with their attitude.
