La Taverna del Leone

26/12/2024: I had a very delicious meal and a great experience. We visited Positano on our honeymoon and found this restaurant through Google Maps.
All menus were delicious, and the staff were very friendly. It was one of the best dinners of my life.
The following is a review of the menu I ate.
ㅇ Octopus dish: Crispy fried octopus served with chickpeas, hummus, and tomatoes. The octopus was so tender and went well with the sauce. I just wanted to eat two plates of octopus.
ㅇTruffle Pasta: I ate truffle pasta at twice the price in Rome. It was more than twice as delicious as the meal in Rome. The truffle flavor is not overpowering and goes well with the noodles. The photo shows it divided into two plates, so the actual amount is twice that in the photo.
ㅇ Tenderloin steak: I ordered medium rare, and it was tender and delicious. Uniquely, we were provided with three types of salt and they were all delicious.
ㅇ Pizza: This pizza was recommended by the employee. It was a pizza with mozzarella cheese, ham, olives, and potatoes, and it had a harmonious taste. The olives were especially delicious, a flavor I had never tried before. This is a pizza without tomato sauce, and it's worth a try.
ㅇ Tiramisu: It’s so delicious. There is a feeling that good ingredients are used. It was sweet and soft and the sheets were appropriately moist.
All menu items were delicious and highly recommended.
When I told him it was my honeymoon, he gave me raspberry chocolate. It was the best dessert.

03/12/2024: GAVE ME FOOD FLASHBACKS. I am a picky eater and was hesitantly convinced into ordering the traditional 5 course meal though I am not a salad, soup, or desert person. When I tell you this was one of the best meals I’ve ever had in life?! For every single dish and course my partner and I ate every crumb and left empty dishes. The food was amazing and even with being very clearly young tourists the service was so nice and accommodating. Very fancy restaurant with a beautiful view into the kitchen. It’s been a few days and my partner and I are still talking about how delicious it was. We left completely full as well! Very much worth the €70pp. Can’t recommend enough to anyone in the area. Worth a long drive even!

08/12/2024: The restaurant is high up on the mountain, and our driver (not arranged by the restaurant as some of the reviews state) knew the roads well and got us there quickly and safely. We were seated in a smaller dining room off to the side where it was really quiet. Would’ve preferred to sit in the main dining area. White table cloth atmosphere. Food was delicious, standouts include the lavender panko crusted scallops, sea bass, black truffle tagliolini (a bit under seasoned for my preference, but great truffle flavor), sorbetto di limone. And for my night cap they poured a generous 4 finger pour of 15 year scotch! Service was attentive, but not overbearing.
13/10/2024: Comimos aquí la última noche de nuestro viaje a la costa de Amalfi y tuvimos una comida increíble. Nos encantó la escapada de las multitudes de Positano, y el restaurante nos recogió y nos dejó en nuestro hotel en Positano. El personal y los propietarios de la familia eran cálidos, amables y genuinos. La comida era increíble! Recomiendo encarecidamente este restaurante cuando visite Positano.

17/10/2024: Came here for happy hour and was not disappointed. The views are amazing, and the drinks and snacks were perfect for aperitivo hour. Make sure to get a reservation as soon as possible since they are very limited.
16/10/2024: We had our 1st date here on our honeymoon and it was great. They gave us the best spot in the house. I was very impressed with them and their service.

27/01/2025: The most amazing hotel in Positano, Italy. Its location is absolutely perfect. It’s in the heart of Positano, and the direct walkway to the beach. But when you walk into the gardens of hotel, you can no longer hear the noise or see the tourist. The rooms are gorgeous and their service is excellent.
They have a morning buffet style breakfast. I am not someone who eats at buffets but this was one of the most magnificent spreads for breakfast. There are also staff to bring you drinks or anything else you may need during is time.
There is a restaurant at the hotel. Food is great and easy to get seated at as well.
We also rented a scooter, and they let us parking it in their private lot for free. We were able to access it whenever we needed and they always had a guard at the gate.
I will only return to this hotel for future trips to Positano.
14/12/2024: An oasis of calm in the crowded streets. This time we were just in the courtyard for a snack and drinks. With its central location, the well-kept shady gardens and, last but not least, the pool, the hotel cannot be compared to any local accommodation. Friendly staff. Absolutely recommended.

The terrace is not open in winter.

16/01/2025: Locale informale sulla spiaggia che offre un menù di mare. Una barca effettua servizio di navetta dal molo di Positano. Assolutamente da provare la zuppa di cozze ed il tonno scottato accompagnato da pesto di peperoncini verdi da loro chiamato pesto di friarielli. Locale sempre affollato, aperto solo a pranzo, che effettua due turni. Consiglio di prenotare con largo anticipo per evitare di non trovare posto.
02/12/2024: If you're looking for a quick lunch, this is not the spot for you. Da Adolfo is an experience! You want to dedicate most of your morning and part of your afternoon to it. If you are looking for a local hangout and authentic spot this is the place. You are able to rent beach chairs on their private beach for much less money than the main beaches of Positano, and you are just steps away from your lunch reservation. It is hard to get a reservation, so I recommend asking your hotel or your bnb host to see if they have any connections. The quick boat ride to and from the private cove is the cherry on top! Not to mention all of the food was so fresh and absolutely delicious!

03/01/2025: A very special dining experience in Positano, we came here as recommended by our host, they were able to book us pick up and drop off to our accomodation as well. The food was incredibly fresh, authentic and the drinks were also top notch. The views were amazing, and was a different vibe to the main hub in Positano, highly recommend!
27/12/2024: We stumbled upon this restaurant after hiking the “Path of the Gods”. We had a late lunch of wine and various snacks including the salmon bruschetta and a delightful bottle of a locally made “Falanghina” white wine.
We made reservations for the following evening and wisely chose to accept the offer of a shuttle versus walking all the way up from Positano again!
Dinner was fabulous. Highly recommend, this place. We will be back

03/01/2025: This restaurant, the food and service was a 10/10, it was an absolute highlight of the trip to Positano, the seafood was so fresh and of high quality and the flavours were next level, the views from the restaurant are breathtaking, it was such a special evening and I’d recommend this to anyone visiting Positano

03/11/2024: Una cálida bienvenida bajo la lluvia, no había pre-reservado, pero Max nos dio la bienvenida en, una buena mesa ofrecida. Excelentes vinos, principales y postres. Una noche encantadora y un personal maravilloso y atento. La mejor cena que tuvimos en Positano. -Muchas gracias.
Todos los paraguas negros nos hicieron reír a la llegada al interior, pero el ambiente era simplemente genial, a pesar del clima exterior.

22/10/2024: Increíble experiencia! Pedimos carbonara (genial) y espagueti Al’oglio que no estaba en el menú, pero fueron lo suficientemente amables para hacer eso para nosotros y fue uno de los mejores que hemos tenido!
La vista es impresionante y las chicas en el servicio increíblemente amable. Era mi cumpleaños y tan pronto como se lo contamos, me trajeron profiterole y una vela pequeña!
16/10/2024: Nos alojamos en el Hotel Posa Posa por dos noches y totalmente en contra de nuestro comportamiento normal cenamos en el restaurante del hotel (Mirage) ambos días.
La razón fue simplemente el marisco más delicioso, fresco y bellamente cubierto que nos habían servido - incluso durante nuestro viaje de 2 semanas en el sur de Italia.
Teníamos lubina a la parrilla y frita, atún abrasado con semillas de sésamo como plato principal y carpaccio de atún como primer plato. El atún olía en tu boca y el sabor era increíble.
Recomendación más cálida 👍!

29/12/2024: This is not a review of Il Fornillo's food, which we unfortunately did not get to try, but their customer service and attention to detail. We made a reservation for dinner on their site in December and received an automated confirmation. We walked about a half mile up and down a lot of stairs to get there from our hotel. When we arrived at the restaurant at our reservation time, Il Fornillo was closed. Net, even if you do make a reservation, I recommend calling to confirm that the restaurant is open since accept reservations for times at which they're closed.

30/11/2024: Plenty of options available. Food was super tasty. There are many good waiters working here. We ate a few times during our stay and also had dessert often. Tiramisu was incredibly delicious!

12/12/2024: We are a Korean newlywed couple who visited in early September 2024. The staff were really friendly. At first, I didn't know there was a bus and had a hard time going up, but they gave me cool cold water in the lobby. From there, I was impressed. I wrote that it was a honeymoon in the reservation memo, so they made a swan out of a towel and the view was really nice haha. Above all, the sanitary conditions were the best. The colorful tiles are also very pretty.
The breakfast view was especially crazy. I went during the peak season in early September and found a reasonably priced hotel, and I was very satisfied.
There was a bus stop in front of the hotel, so there wasn't much of a problem with traveling by bus! I couldn't find bus information on Google, so I asked a local to buy a bus ticket and boarded the bus.
07/11/2024: This place was magical. The staff there were excellent, especially Ariana at reception. She was so polite and very helpful and very friendly. A very special person indeed. Would recommend this hotel to everyone

31/08/2024: A deplorable experience, unworthy of a Michelin-starred restaurant
I am a regular at Michelin-starred restaurants around the world, having had the privilege of dining at over 50 Michelin-starred establishments, including at least 20 with 3 stars. My partner and I had eagerly booked a table at Li Galli in Positano two months ago. This dinner was meant to be the highlight of our trip, a memorable gastronomic experience.
However, what transpired was beyond comprehension and is utterly unacceptable for a restaurant claiming such a distinction. To our great surprise, after two days without internet access, we discovered an email from the restaurant stating that our reservation had been outright canceled. Why? Because, supposedly, their system sent us an email asking for confirmation, to which we couldn't respond due to our lack of connectivity.
What an unprofessional and disrespectful way to treat your clientele! When you claim the prestige of a Michelin star, the minimum expectation is top-tier service. If there was any doubt about the confirmation of a reservation, the least they could have done was to pick up the phone and contact us directly. This shows a blatant lack of respect for the customer and a terrible approach to customer relations. In the world of Michelin stars, such behavior is simply inexcusable.
No effort was made to rectify the situation when we called the restaurant after discovering the cancellation. No alternatives, no solutions. The coldness with which we were treated sharply contrasts with what one expects from a Michelin-starred establishment.
As a devoted gastronome and frequent diner at the world's best restaurants, I must say that I have never been treated with such disregard. A Michelin-starred restaurant should have impeccable respect for its clients, and Li Galli failed miserably in this regard.
For anyone considering making a reservation here, be warned: the customer service is abysmal and unworthy of the reputation one would expect from a Michelin-starred establishment.
I will not return, and I strongly advise against this restaurant for anyone seeking a genuine Michelin-starred dining experience.
