23/04/2026: At the end of August, we were returning from vacation and stopped for two nights in San Vito Chietino. Our host recommended La Kantina because we wanted to try a fish soup. Excellent advice, and the fish soup is delicious, but you obviously need to order it. The only thing I'd say is that, not knowing the dish, we ordered one each. I'd say perhaps a bit too much, because the portion is generous and that's fine for the variety of fish. However, we had to leave the sauce aside, even though it was delicious. I'd say one fish soup is enough for two people. When we're back in the area, we'll definitely be back.

19/04/2026: We returned here after several years, and honestly, I wouldn't go back. 1) There's no menu with prices, which leads to unpleasant surprises at the cash register. 2) The appetizer was €18, which includes the cold dish (which you see in the photo), and we had two, and then the hot dishes, which you also see in the photo, and that's for two. 3) The roast, which you see in the photo, was a steal: €20 for 1 red mullet, 1 sea bass, 3 cuttlefish, and 1 shrimp... 4) The fried portion deserves credit. The portion you see in the photo is for one person, so it's excellent, even for the price. 5) In total, we spent €90, including free water, coffee, wine, or anything else. A bit too much, I'd say!

05/09/2025: You'll find everything. The restaurant is very flexible, offering everything from pizza to fish or meat, vegetarian and even vegan options. Excellent pizzas, even with alternative doughs, like spelt. The staff is welcoming and friendly.

24/02/2026: We stopped to grab three pizzas on the go... And I have to say, the pizza was truly excellent!!! Too good!! Friendly staff. I'll definitely stop by again when I'm in the area. Highly recommended!

27/07/2025: Siamo stati a cena, menù fisso € 50,00 a persona per mangiare miseri antipasti, una cozza a testa e lo stesso vale per lo scampo, tortino ripieno di baccalà che non sapeva di niente, piselli, lasciamo stare.... Primo con sugo che era veramente imbarazzante... frittura misera, dolce non parliamone. Almeno il personale era gentile.

09/05/2026: 5 stars for the kindness with which we were welcomed, and the entire staff was truly exquisite. Very fair prices, good first courses, delicious fried food, and excellent white wine by the glass. Really pleasant location, no problem even when we were with our dog. Highly recommended.

12/05/2026: My happy place when I visit my friends from Ortona... A sea-view terrace to enjoy the sea breeze, an old-school "classic" seafood restaurant atmosphere, as tradition dictates. Simple, fresh seafood, but the simple kind you like, not the banal kind. Lately, gourmet trends have focused on aesthetics over substance. Giorgio, the owner, is a smart and knowledgeable guy; I hope he continues like this! Will I return? Of course! It also has reserved parking, which, given the area, especially in the summer, is a huge plus.

01/05/2026: Terrible experience! The atmosphere is absolutely not family-friendly! The restaurant is not suitable for families with children, and besides the fact that it offers no attractions for children, the management is very intolerant and arrogant about them. We were invited to a birthday lunch. I had brought toys and crayons for my son, but any parent knows that after a long lunch, children get bored after a while, and it's a challenge to keep them entertained. You won't find even a toy machine with surprise balls here! Not all children are the same, and mine is lively, so be it, but hearing the manager say, "You tie him up or I'll tie him up" really pissed me off!!! No one should say something like that to me and my son, and moreover, such an attitude towards customers who are spending money is unprofessional. I found a lack of empathy and arrogance in this place, and I will never set foot in there again! Even if the quality of the food is excellent, there are many places where you can eat well, respect and empathy are rare!!!

03/04/2026: Hostaria dal Pavone isn't a dinner. It's a wonderful journey. Dishes that seem simple and then captivate you at first bite: clear contrasts, unexpected pairings, and ingredients that speak for themselves. From the initial raw ingredients (very fresh, clean, and without any need to hide) to the tortelli, where sweetness and savory intertwine in an almost arrogant way. Each course has a precise identity. No fillers, no "homework": here, the focus is truly on the game. A round of applause for the chef and the entire team: there's technique, but above all, a clear vision. And it shows. Special mention also for the service: present without being intrusive, knowledgeable, with that naturalness that makes you feel right at home without the need for embellishments. It's one of those places where you understand there's more than just good food. If you want to be surprised, this is the place. Hostaria dal Pavone, a definite nod.

10/01/2026: Three of us went to lunch in August. I had seafood risotto and seafood salad. Around 8 p.m., I started feeling really sick, something I'd never experienced in my entire life. I vomited six times until 3 a.m., after which I decided to go to the emergency room. My friend had the same experience; the only difference, fortunately for him, was diarrhea. I'd like to point out that you can't sell spoiled or substandard food, because that way you're poisoning people. It may have been a coincidence, but I won't be going back there again; I care about my health.

29/08/2025: Very friendly staff. Excellent value for money. Good portions. Outdoor area cleaned immediately after use, but table layout could be improved.

19/01/2026: I chose the €20 lunch menu, as advertised on the chalkboard outside. Inside, I had spaghetti with tuna, which arrived after half an hour, and very greasy fried fish, 1/4 cup of wine, bottled water (open), and coffee. If you don't like people spending less, don't order these menus.

15/04/2026: One of the historic restaurants on the Trabocchi Coast, specializing in brodetto, which is truly excellent. The quality of the fish is excellent, and the menu offers a good selection of dishes, all very well cooked. The wine selection is also excellent, with many local wines to suit all budgets. The staff is young, but there's plenty of room for improvement. I definitely recommend it.

26/03/2026: If I'm in this area, I've been coming here for several years. I used to come for work, now it's for fun. An honest, clean place with reasonable prices. Anyone with higher expectations in their reviews can go elsewhere or let them manage a similar place. Recommended.

15/09/2025: We returned like every year, but this time a little disappointed, a problem with the service of the dishes, the chitarrina with clams was a fettuccine and I assure you that there is a big difference, poor communication with the customer, the place is nice at lunch, less so in the evening, the pizza is good but the mussels are a mix of fresh and old.

06/04/2026: We spent the Easter Monday 2026 event with friends in the Lance room. It was a lovely location, with engaging music, but the food was meager. The appetizers were awful, the first course inedible, and the second course was meager and tasteless. In short, to get something to eat, we were forced to buy some arrosticini from the drying rack in the garden. We won't be returning!

09/11/2025: A place that is nothing short of magnificent and elegant, even though I think it is dated in its existence, I had the pleasure of celebrating Halloween evening in this location with an organised package and with a small group of friends, taking advantage of the fact that there are also accommodations, we also stayed to sleep.

07/04/2026: Highly recommended! Cuisine that combines innovation and tradition, in a wonderful location.

22/03/2026: We had a great time, eating on the terrace overlooking the sea. The linguine with clams and fried fish was delicious. I hope to return one summer evening.
