16/02/2026: We went to eat at this place and I will definitely never go there again. We ordered bigoli with ragù and they brought us bigoli with chickpea flour which were inedible without any explanation from the waitress when we ordered and the portions were small.

22/12/2025: I'll start by saying I've ALWAYS had a good experience and have always told my friends it was a great experience. Unfortunately, yesterday wasn't the case: it was all because of the waiter who served us, who was unprofessional in his manners. For example, he walked past me with his arm around me to serve and I almost wiped my mouth on his black shirt. The wait was biblical. We arrived at 12:30 and finished at 2:45 (we had an appetizer, first course, and coffee). He served me pumpkin pie and I almost found it in my lap. He was spiteful and disrespectful. I told the owners and they apologized: out of respect for you, I recommend you "get rid of him," he's damaging your business. We were there on Sunday the 21st at table 5, so you know who I'm talking about. Best regards.

24/02/2026: Known as a wine station, a 1.5-liter bottle of white wine was 10 euros. I went there because it was said to be cheap (3-5 euros), but I wonder if the price has gone up... It wasn't much different from what you'd find at the supermarket, and you can sample the wine, so ask if it's available and try it before you buy. When we went, there were more locals than tourists.

05/04/2026: I didn't know it, it was our first time there and I have to say that all seven of us had a wonderful meal. Even the pasta with sauce my 5-year-old son had was good. What can I say? The appetizers were delicious and the meats were truly top-notch, delicious. They even had a very tender Florentine steak. Very kind and friendly staff. The table service was excellent, everything was clean, even the bathrooms. Recommended for beef lovers; they are specialists and have all kinds of cuts.

22/03/2026: I went for lunch over the weekend. The place looked very nice and the staff were helpful. Unfortunately, we waited too long—50 minutes for a cold cuts platter, without even having the chance to order meat. It's a shame because the meat is very good, but two and a half hours to serve a table for two with an appetizer and a meat main course seems excessive.

18/04/2026: I've been coming to La Lanterna for many years. The service is always quick and impeccable. Good pizzas, and the green pepper fillet is excellent. But times change. Last night we ordered a seafood salad with Ascoli olives, buttered spinach, and grilled salmon. Tens of minutes pass, and only the seafood and spinach salad arrives. I ask for the Ascoli olives, but still nothing. I ask again, and they finally arrive, saying they'd lost my order. Meanwhile, I'm getting tired of waiting and losing my appetite for the salmon. I ask, and they tell me they'd lost my order again, this time for the salmon, which I ask them to cancel. I ask for the bill, and what does the waitress do? She brings the bill to my girlfriend instead of me! The service is terrible and makes me lose the desire to eat out. A restaurant in a beautiful location, but it's completely ruined. I recommend trying other restaurants around there; there are plenty.

16/04/2026: I've been getting takeout pizza every week from this restaurant for a couple of years now. In my opinion, it's one of the best in the city center. I've also had the opportunity to eat at the outdoor tables, and the view of the square is beautiful. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and polite. You can tell the owners care deeply about their restaurant, and this is reflected in the staff, who are always impeccable. Recommended for lunch or dinner in the center of Padua!

02/04/2026: Pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. I really appreciated the kitchen being open late, even during the week. The dishes are carefully prepared and original. Very friendly and attentive service. Highly recommended :)

02/01/2026: I know the place well, and we're aware of its reputation for being an extremely good place, but its prices aren't always affordable. With that necessary premise in mind, we go for an aperitivo anyway, where we ask the waitress for two glasses of wine: a classic method and a fruity still white, and the very kind waitress offers to suggest options for us. We serve a Slovenian Chardonnay and an Enrico Serafino Alta Langa classic method. Everything is perfect, except that when we ask for the bill, the Slovenian wine is listed at €4.50, while the second one is €14.50, a price that I honestly consider excessive, considering it's not champagne and that if you buy a bottle privately at the wine shop, it costs €25. We would certainly have appreciated it if the waitress, when she suggested the wine, had shared the cost per glass with us in advance.
