03/09/2025: A necessary preface: I've worked in the restaurant industry for over ten years, so I know that a "bad night" can happen to anyone, even the best. For this reason, I always approach things with understanding. However, my experience at Sabir was unfortunately very disappointing, especially considering the restaurant's expectations and location. The welcome was virtually nonexistent: upon arrival, there was no one to greet us, and only after a few minutes did we find a waiter to show us to our table. Once we ordered, we had to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes for our first course. Meanwhile, amuse-bouche were served, placed on the table without any explanation or presentation: a detail that, in an experience of this caliber, truly makes all the difference. The service, unfortunately, proved to be unsympathetic and very disorganized throughout the dinner. The waiters were clearly sluggish, there was little communication between them, and the dishes were served without any explanation or attention. In fact, when we asked for an explanation of a dish, we were told, "I don't know, ask a colleague." Other tables around us expressed the same discomfort, creating a surreal and awkward atmosphere. Culinary-wise, the quality of the ingredients is undoubtedly good, even if not particularly innovative. However, without proper explanations and a modicum of storytelling, one ends up appreciating them far less than they deserve. The conclusion wasn't any better: I ordered a whiskey to finish the meal, but it was simply placed on the table, without even specifying the type, without a separate glass of water or ice, and without the slightest attention. The real disappointment, beyond the individual incidents, was never receiving—over the course of the three hours spent at the restaurant—a simple question like, "How's dinner going?" A gesture of thoughtfulness that would have allowed for immediate constructive feedback to the staff. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but I believe a restaurant like Sabir should offer an experience that goes far beyond the dish itself, justifying the price and the name it represents. Unfortunately, on this occasion, that wasn't the case.

04/09/2025: An excellent experience. A modest menu reflects Chef Dedé's philosophy and research. The dishes are truly excellent, the wine list is well-curated, and the service is impeccable. We'll definitely be back to visit the Chef and try new dishes!

20/08/2025: SHAMEFUL AND DISHONEST!!!! PRICES DID NOT CORRESPOND TO THE MENU! Excluding the service (the girl was really kind and professional), the experience was APPALLING. I booked with The Fork, saying I wanted to eat meat because my son wanted a giant steak for his 5th birthday. I was contacted and told that there was no discount for meat. I accepted anyway, EVEN THOUGH NOT INDICATED, I am in a city I am unfamiliar with and didn't feel like looking any further. I got to the table and the first surprise: despite the menu listing meat from 55 to 75 euros per kg, they told me they only have meat for 89 (not listed anywhere). PRICES DIFFERENT FROM THE MENU. It annoys me, 30 euros more is not a small amount, but it is my son's birthday. I order the meat and ask for it to be rare, medium at most.... The meat arrived that looked like a slab of cork, INEDIBLE, UNCHEWABLE. The ingredients are good, but if you ruin them, you can't charge that much! Oh, and the fries are baked for another reason. €140 (with 30% off The Fork), 2 pizzas, 1 Coke, 1 wine €23, 1 appetizer €14, and 1 steak left almost whole (I tried to eat it anyway because of the mistake, but I couldn't. The owner, however, wanted to offer me a bitter liqueur, hahahahaha).

I had left Puglia with the idea of ​​finally tasting Etna's renowned porcini mushrooms, and I was completely satisfied. Thank you, you were superb.

12/08/2025: From the moment we arrived at Hotel Valleverde, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality that made us feel instantly at home. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. What truly sets Valleverde apart is the staff. Every single person we met went out of their way to ensure we had the best stay possible. Their restaurant is equally as delicious, from pizza to pasta to their August special the Aperifish - of which we had 3! Amazing place to stay in Sicily, couldn’t recommend more!

12/08/2025: We stayed 2 weeks in their wonderful hotel, and honestly, every day again, everything was perfect. The modern rooms were always very clean, the personnel was super kind, and they took care of everything you asked. We took a room with breakfast, where you could choose when to have breakfast, and everything was fresh. Dinner was not included in the price, but we chose to often eat in their restaurant. The food is amazing, which attest to the fact that locals come to eat there and that it is always full. I can recommend for people who want to visit more than just the beaches and want a local experience away from mass tourism.

20/08/2025: Highly recommended for those who want to eat well, feel at home, and spend very little. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and warm. As Giancarlo said last night, at his restaurant, we're all equal, and he treats everyone like one big family. The quality of the fish is excellent, and all the ingredients are treated with love, and it shows! When the bill arrived, my wife and I looked at each other in disbelief, thinking it was a mistake... They thought they were paying at least double! I'll recommend this place to anyone visiting Catania! Warm regards to Giancarlo, Filippo, and all the other staff members!

19/08/2025: Visit this Family owned restaurant with my friends from Catania. It is a traditional Sicilian kitchen food restaurant. Most of the clients are local people and that is sign for very good local kitchen. From pizza , pasta , meat , fisch … great food ! I took grill meat plates. Smells and taste it great . Service is very fast and very friendly. I was the second time here and of course not last time ! It’s like the name of the restaurant says , “ at home of friends “

25/07/2025: Fast service and good availability for a couple of takeaway pizzas, a truffle pizza for the grown-ups and a margherita for the little ones. I think I remember it costing a little less than 20 euros. The restaurant and the atmosphere looked great, but it was our last night and we were in a hurry. Bottles of wine ranged from 18 to 35 euros.

20/06/2025: A nice surprise off the beaten track. Specialists in pinsa, a refined and simple environment inside a former factory where the exposed lava stone enhances everything. The choice fell on the classic horse meatballs which in Catania are a must on a bed of excellent caramelized onion and sautéed chicory, excellent bread. Excellent service, the only flaw is the background music which should be improved..for the rest the quality/price ratio is in line. Recommended

26/08/2025: I don't understand these positive reviews for a restaurant that's well-maintained but has a misleading menu: first courses range from €18 to €35, a first course with a bit of bottarga costing €35, and the raw fish was paltry; not even the worst trattorias offer a dish like this. The rest is up to you!!!! They're too convinced they're the best.

12/08/2025: Beautiful and elegant location, you can dine outside (in the summer) surrounded by the greenery of an enchanting garden. The dishes met our expectations and we will definitely be back. 07/08/2025: Un’esperienza come quella offerta da Collage non si racconta: si vive, si gusta, si sorseggia e si ricorda a lungo. Questo locale è una gemma rara, un luogo dove ogni dettaglio è pensato con una cura quasi maniacale ma mai ostentata. Qui si mangia e si beve divinamente, e non è un’iperbole: è la semplice verità. Le proposte culinarie sono uniche, originali, spesso sorprendenti: dimenticatevi i soliti piatti visti e rivisti. Da Collage si ha la netta sensazione di assaggiare qualcosa di introvabile altrove, un viaggio tra sapori inediti e abbinamenti coraggiosi ma sempre perfettamente bilanciati. Ogni piatto è un piccolo capolavoro creativo, studiato e realizzato con passione autentica. E i cocktail? Un capitolo a parte. Favolosi è riduttivo. Ogni drink è un’opera d’arte liquida: ingredienti home made, infusi creati sul momento, spezie, agrumi, fiori, contrasti dolci-amari, texture inaspettate. Il tutto servito con un’attenzione ai dettagli che lascia senza parole. Si percepisce la mano di chi non si limita a shakerare, ma compone veri e propri racconti in un bicchiere. L’ambiente è semplicemente eccezionale: accogliente, curato, con un’identità fortissima ma capace di farti sentire subito a casa. E poi c’è il servizio: giovane, sorridente, presente ma mai invadente, con quella naturalezza disarmante che ti fa venir voglia di tornare anche solo per una chiacchiera al bancone. Collage è il posto in cui ogni dettaglio è poesia, dove ogni visita si trasforma in un’esperienza da raccontare. Complimenti sperticati e meritatissimi: posti così andrebbero protetti, celebrati, e frequentati il più possibile.

01/06/2025: Nice place in a very quiet, pedestrian, delicious street. Too bad I asked for a French75 (classic IBA cocktail) and it was really undrinkable... but it can happen, it's not really a problem. The problem came when I pointed it out, when asking for the bill. The cocktail wasn't finished, I took 2 sips. I waited 10 minutes for the bill - I even asked for it, there weren't many people - and they made me pay, without any reason given. I also left a tip but on top of that they get this review. See you never again.

15/08/2025: We went to dinner last night for the first time and had a wonderful time. The dishes are exquisite, but the real standout is Stefy, who served us impeccably, making us feel at ease thanks to her overwhelming friendliness. Kudos to the entire staff. We'll definitely be back.

12/01/2025: Il posto è bellissimo, il camino che scalda la sala, tutto così meraviglioso. La signora Cinzia è una persona meravigliosa, gentile, accogliente attenta a tutto. Ci ha serviti e coccolati dal primo istante in cui siamo arrivati fino alla fine. Piatti tutti caserecci e fatti freschi, super abbondanti e super buoni. Siamo rimasti soddisfatti al 100% torneremo sicuramente e consigliamo assolutamente questo ristorante per chi vuole sentirsi a casa, mangiando bene.
