13/12/2025: Waited 1.5 hours, kids starving. Not even only kids food could come out earlier besides our beggings. Food was salty, not fresh. We were 10 people and nobody liked anything we have ordered. Such a pity for a wonderful restaurant. The place is really elegant and traditional.

03/11/2025: Piccolo Paradiso da Mario's Restaurant, Peschici: Enchanting Views and Welcoming Service The unparalleled highlight of this restaurant is undoubtedly the breathtaking view of the Peschici Bay, which makes every dinner, especially at sunset, a charming and romantic experience. The atmosphere is simple and informal. The menu offers cuisine focused on fresh seafood and the flavors of the Gargano. We particularly enjoyed the carefully prepared pasta dishes and grilled fish and meat. The pizzeria is also a good option. Special praise goes to the service: the team was friendly, courteous, and helpful with all guests, helping to create a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Those planning to reach the restaurant by car should be aware that, especially in high season, parking in the immediate vicinity can be extremely difficult. We recommend planning your arrival well in advance.
29/10/2025: In Peschici the last week of August, looking for a nice place for dinner on our last night, trusting the reviews we chose this restaurant. The room with a table with a spectacular view of the bay, 5 stars for sure. The service was poor (we ordered 1 liter of sparkling white wine... we received still white wine... we first pointed it out to one waitress and nothing... then to the other and nothing... then she came back to tell us they had that! Fine... but maybe they should have mentioned it when we ordered it, right?). The fact of seeing the fireplace outside the room, where they cook the fish, had raised good expectations... which however were not met. Good flavors, but nothing special. Portions: for the first courses (spaghetti with clams) ok... for the second courses (prawns, mixed grill, mixed fried fish) we have found better in other places. It's a shame because for the location it's worth it. For 4 people (1 starter, 2 first courses, 3 second courses, 1 litre of wine, 1 water and 2 cokes) we paid €142.00 including 4 place settings at €2.50 each.

26/11/2025: Plebiscito Sette in Casamassima is always a guarantee, a lovely place to spend a quiet evening. In the summer, you can enjoy a lovely garden. Chef-owner Gianmichele's cuisine is always evolving, and the quality of the ingredients is very high. If you're craving a gourmet pizza, this is the place to be. Trust pizza chef-owner Danilo, and you won't be disappointed. I had an excellent white truffle pizza, and the desserts were also very good. A special mention (for me, it's important) for the selection of natural wines, which is not a given. The staff is friendly. I highly recommend it.

15/11/2025: Let's start with the assumption that, okay, if you have fish for dinner, the price goes up. Well, first of all, octopus salad, a small bowl. Two fried octopuses that looked boiled, and a fried dish whose batter stuck to the plate...usually crispy, no, this one was soggy. We didn't have time to leave the restaurant before they closed; they were basically waiting for us. They were already home, thinking about it and wearing their pajamas. Overall, my love story was coming to an end because of the soggy fried dish. For two, €150 seems rather excessive. P.S.: the love story is still going strong. Best regards
12/11/2025: A small gem overlooking the sea, where the sea is also present inside, in all its dishes prepared with care, skill, and passion. A breathtaking terrace, attentive and friendly service, and tasty and rigorously fresh dishes make it a must-try for those who want to spend a special moment or enjoy an excellent meal without breaking the bank (€104 for 2 with an excellent bottle of wine recommended, raw and cooked seafood appetizers, 2 first courses, and a mixed fried fish to share, coffee, and liqueurs). People who take pride in what they bring to your table make it a sure thing. Enjoy this experience. Reservations recommended, especially in high season. A must-try.

12/08/2025: We stayed here for 6 days. It's a quiet and private place in a typical Salento farmhouse. The room was comfortable and cozy, the pool was just steps away, and it was well-kept and not crowded. Convenient on-site parking was available. 19/10/2025: If you love pizza with thin, crispy, and above all light crust, you've come to the right place. They offer a wide variety of choices, and the ingredients are excellent. The service is quick; even if you order an appetizer, they don't crowd you out by three or four tables like others do. The timing is perfect, thanks to the friendly and helpful staff, as is the owner, who, in addition to being a pizza chef, is also very personable. Highly recommended.

09/11/2025: A typical Martina Franca steakhouse serving mixed roast meats. There was a very long wait for service on a Saturday evening; the dishes we ordered arrived after over an hour. The meat was good and well-cooked, but the lack of adequate ventilation meant we went home stinking from head to toe.
04/11/2025: We wanted to try this new place. Unlike other places scattered around the Itria Valley, here you don't choose the meat directly from the counter with its scales, but from the menu. You'll understand that this way, the prices are higher and the actual weight isn't visible. To control both the amount of meat I'd eat and the cost, I politely asked if I could choose the meat from the counter. They said, "Yes, absolutely." After choosing, however, they only weighed a few items (the tagliata and the straccetti were missing). For this last order, I had asked for two tagliata: one thin, like a fetta (because my partner prefers it well done), and a regular, medium-rare one for me, plus a small portion of straccetti. I asked for the weight, but they told me, "A rough estimate: 220-250 grams for the small one, 280-300 grams for the large one." A rough estimate? At the table, we also ordered a cheese platter (I hate to say it, but it was clearly low-quality) and a bottle of water. After about twenty minutes, the meat arrived: two pieces of sausage, four livers, five bombettes, and a small prosciutto roll. Meanwhile, the pork strips also arrived, which in Martina Franca are usually made with capocollo, not veal as elsewhere. I politely asked the waiter not to bring everything at once, otherwise we'd be forced to eat quickly, with the meat getting cold and inedible. He replied, "OK," but before I could finish speaking, the small tagliata arrived, the one for my companion. At that point, I asked him to leave the other tagliata aside, because we'd had to eat everything too quickly and didn't feel like it anymore. As for the meat, I really enjoyed the livers and the tagliata; the rest was bland and overly salty. As I finished my last bite, the owner came over and asked if I wanted dessert or coffee: a polite way of letting us know we needed to get up, since there were other people waiting. But, in reality, we'd only just been seated. At the cashier, I informed the lady that a tagliata hadn't been brought and that they hadn't informed the kitchen. I still paid 18 euros for the small tagliata I received, essentially 70 euros per kilo. Even the pork strips, the weight of which I hadn't been told, cost 14 euros: again 70 euros per kilo. To recap: 400g of grilled meat 100-150g of strips 250g of tagliata 1 bottle of water 1 portion of cheeses Total: 58 euros. I wondered: if the second tagliata had also arrived and we'd had a couple of beers, would we have exceeded 90 euros? Are you serious, or are we kidding because it's Halloween time? Failed.

30/11/2025: Grandma Rosa moves me every time, because I feel like a child again when I accompanied Dad Nicola to the fishmonger's. I remember a kind of childlike happiness. Her joke was always the same: 'Only what you see'? This phrase was a sort of sesame seed! The fishmonger would go to the back and immediately display a crate with the best catch of the night. I smiled every time, happy and incredulous at the same time. I still wonder today what this statement could have evoked in the eyes of the owner?! I'm sitting here today at the Nonna Rosa restaurant in Muro Leccese. And I always ask myself the same thing. Why does this place bring back memories? Why? Perhaps it's Claudia's cheerful smile, reassuring and friendly? Or the simplicity of the dishes, anything but banal? The pervasive calm that prepares the palate?
