18/12/2025: Most expensive Cappuccino I have had in Italy in over a month. No toilet paper, toilet seat or toilet brush in the toilet. Sorry! waiter was friendly and there were some Cantuccini with my Cappuccino.

16/10/2025: We went for breakfast. There were 50 of us with little time available. We enjoyed a varied, plentiful, and good-quality buffet. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The lakefront location was breathtaking.

10/10/2025: Stunning location, beautiful views of the piazza and of the Duomo. The lady kindly talked us through all the specials and the menu. The Gnocchi with gorgonzola (on the specials), was the best I have ever tasted. The hospitality was perfect. Very reasonably priced and just far enough away from the main touristy restaurants. We will be returning here again.

27/09/2025: A small restaurant that doesn't look like much from the outside. It may seem cold, but we were pleasantly surprised by the food. Excellent local cuisine. Contrary to other reviews, the owner was very friendly and accommodating (she called a taxi at our request at the end of the meal).

30/09/2025: One word: Wow! Food: We had dinnere at Sostago and were blown away. The menu has classic italian food bit also with some twists to make it interesting and every dish worked out perfectly. Even the frothy butter that goes with the bread was a highlight. Price wise it was also very respectable. It was among the top dinner I had so far. Location: It begins with the entry to the Villa Sostago. It is a one way street that follows a narrow road through the mountain side with great views on the lake. At the end the old Soatago villa comes into place. We felt straight out from a James Bond movie. Crazy. Inside it follows the theme. The Atmosphere is very welcome and the dining area is super cozy with great views. Great knowladgeable staff. The whole evening was a success!!

02/06/2025: Spinti dalle recensioni positive abbiamo scelto questo ristorante per un pranzo domenicale in visita dalle parti del lago di Garda. Tutto decisamente ottimo, dagli antipasti (abbiamo preso un tris di tartare di pesce) al primo consigliato dallo chef, rigorosamente a base di pesce. Nota di merito anche per il dolce, fresco e fatto in casa. Servizio preciso, consigli accurati sulla scelta del vino e dei piatti. Qualità-prezzo molto buona avendo mangiato pesce fresco: un antipasto, due primi, due dolci e una bottiglia di vino per 55€ a testa.

15/12/2025: Yet another disappointing experience... with a group of friends, we booked a table... and we arrived with our little dog, a Volpino Italiano... and we were told, not even very politely, that the dog was not allowed in... (In 2025, these places still exist). And we're not even talking about a Michelin-starred restaurant. Anyway, we left our friends and went home, because we don't live very close. The dog couldn't stay in the car because the temperatures weren't suitable... But then I wouldn't have eaten, calm down. As we were getting in the car, a group of their acquaintances arrived, entering with the dog... NO COMMENT. Today we decided to get some take-out pizzas. We took them home, and two of the pizzas were completely burnt, therefore inedible... If anyone loves side dishes like me 🙂‍↕️. My dad calls and warns them... (As if they didn't see that the pizzas were burnt when they put them in the boxes)... No apology, much less any idea of ​​making up for it. One star is a gift. The biggest flaw is the lack of humility and the belief that customers will always come back. Not recommended.

The ambiance is nothing special, but clean, tidy, and with potential for more comfort. Service is friendly and prompt, without being intrusive. Prices are fair for the location. Highly recommended for a casual pasta stop: walk in, grab two plates, water or house wine, and leave satisfied. Those seeking fine dining are better off elsewhere – those seeking honest pasta will find it here.

08/11/2025: Lunch in Sirmione. Before finding the Ristorante La Nuova Botte, we went to other restaurants that were rudely told they had no seats. The staff at La Nuova Botte welcomed us very kindly and courteously, even though it was full. Excellent food. Excellent value. Very generous portions. Great prices. Very, very friendly staff. At the end, a pleasant surprise: the focaccia we requested to accompany the appetizer was offered free of charge. Recommended restaurant!! We will definitely be back. Thank you

22/10/2025: An Italian restaurant offering seafood and meat dishes on a small, secluded street in the center, with a few tables outside. The pasta dishes and lake fish are beautifully cooked and plated, as are the homemade desserts, and there are often off-menu options. The hostess is welcoming and easygoing, but a bit overbearing. The location is average but pleasant, especially in the evening, without being overly elegant. Prices are reasonable for the quality, more affordable than many other restaurants in Sirmione. However, I can't give it more than three stars because, on both occasions we dined here, I was served a different dish than what I ordered. A little more attention to detail between the kitchen and the service could improve an already excellent standard.

21/10/2025: Right on the lake and the small but beautiful marina of Villa, a hamlet of Gargnano. We only had breakfast (which was good): the staff is very friendly and the view is stunning! Off-season, it's even better! I plan to have lunch there as soon as possible: the place is truly romantic in the evening! I recommend parking just off the main road and walking along the lakefront until you reach it, then continuing to Gargnano, one of the most beautiful walks in the area. Shortly after the Osteria, on the left, there is a charming private gatehouse, open to the public 24/7.
