20/08/2024: We had dinner under the trees in a citrus garden together with our three boys, finding kindness and courtesy but above all quality. We'll be back...

18/08/2024: As soon as we arrived, the owner approached us and asked us what we wanted to eat: we replied that we would have ordered a starter and a second course; he tells us "then I'll bring you a starter and for the second course I have a nice sea bream caught today". We accept the proposal. Result: total of 200 euros for two (100 euros for starter and 90 euros for sea bream). Absurd experience began to arrive various portions of appetizer but all tiny: 4 marinated anchovies he charged 17 euros, the mussels were ALL empty and also around 17-18 euros, 4 meatballs 17 euros. On the other hand, the waiters were very kind. The price was absolutely out of the market, perhaps they had to compensate for the evening given that there were only 4 seated tables? Among other things, there is another Chinappi in Formia, Michele Chinappi, which is where we wanted to go and which had been recommended to us, but unfortunately we made a mistake in booking. Edit (18/08): Mr. Stefano Chinappi, after the review, contacted me: he invited me and my girlfriend to his restaurant and apologized for what happened, expressing his willingness to remedy what happened. Yesterday (Saturday 17/08) he had the thought of writing to me again to invite me to go to dinner with him, but unfortunately I was no longer in the area. He then had the foresight to reimburse me for all the starters (100 euros). Errors/mistakes can happen (similar events have happened to me other times), but this type of attention to the customer is certainly to be appreciated and, at least personally, no restaurateur has ever been so present after paying the bill and has ever shown this. kind of attention. We will definitely return when we are in the area!

11/08/2024: Unfortunately overall not a good experience, so-so starter, some good things like the bruschetta with octopus and swordfish, lemon linguine and calamari weren't that great, while those with rocket pesto, mussels and pecorino were good in flavor but so salty which could not be eaten... moreover we ask the staff for advice to give us advice but we are told: "look at the menu, what you choose is all good", dishes arrive at the table next to us which were not on the menu and when we ask to change and get the linguine with seafood, we are told that it was too late... the price is for Gaeta, the 3 dishes and a water are €48.

08/08/2024: From time to time we have always verified the quality and imagination of the dishes and the freshness of the raw materials. A round of applause to chef Serenella and to all the kitchen and dining room staff for the professionalism and friendliness shown. Cellar for all budgets including fine wines. Prices more than fair.

04/08/2024: Excellent cuisine, small adjustments could increase the level of the environment, unfortunately we ended up with a table on the veranda, it would be enough to add a few fans, kind and helpful waiters

06/08/2024: I'm sorry that the minimum is 1 star otherwise I would have given 0. The quality of a restaurant is not only measured on the food but also on the courtesy and hospitality of the guests. Our experience began yesterday, we arrived at 7.15pm and they told us that the place was still closed but that there would not be room for three seats in the open air (two adults and a 10 year old child). The person who welcomed us told us that we could book for the next day, that is today, so we booked a table outside for 8pm. We then showed up as agreed and were told that there were no reservations , but checking better, they found it the next day. It was already clear that they would not find a solution for this evening, but they still made us wait a quarter of an hour to tell us that the table was not available without offering us any solution and dismissing the inconvenience as a misunderstanding, despite the person who had told us when he took the reservation he recognized us. They also added that we were also responsible for what happened as we should have checked the reservation date in the diary while the waiter wrote it down and that it was our word against theirs. We would like to point out that in reality it was not a misunderstanding but a clear mistake on their part and how they did not apologize and did not seek any solution to satisfy us.

06/08/2024: Excellent prices for being in the center. Very good food, I recommend booking in advance. The paccheri with swordfish, cherry tomatoes and provola were delicious!!

10/07/2024: Enchanting place... an excellent restaurant with fresh fish, tasty dishes and impeccable service... Mrs. Marina, the owner, receives customers with a smile and maximum availability... highly recommended.

07/07/2024: Good food, one of the few that still makes spaghetti with clams after the blue crab problem. Suggestive location. Nice staff.

28/11/2023: Da evitare… Attesa snervante. Si inizia a capire la situazione in cui si siamo infilati quando vicino a noi due ragazze iniziano a sbuffare dicendo “basta ora ce ne andiamo, è una ora che aspettiamo”. Avevano anticipato anche per noi l’eterna agonia del pranzo a Sermoneta. 2 ore seduti a tavola per un primo condiviso in 2 e un antipasto condiviso in 2. 2 ore, tanto che siamo poi dovuti quasi scappare a Roma in quanto la passeggiata per Sermoneta è stata bruciata da una cucina dove probabilmente c’era meno personale del previsto. Non avevamo fretta ma neanche passare due ore seduti per un piatto! Fors è il caso di assumere qualcuno in piu? Sconsiglio quindi viviamente questo ristorante, inoltre i prezzi completamente sproporzionati sia al servizio che ai piatti. Grande delusione!!!

09/10/2023: Abbiamo pranzato in questo ristorante nel giardino esterno. Cibo molto buono, con il particolare dell'utilizzo del trombolotto, un olio aromatizzato al trombolotto, una specie autoctona di limone. Abbianamento vincente! I proprietari sono molto gentile e accoglienti. Unica pecca, abbiamo aspettato tanto per avere i primi nel mio piatto c'era qualche ingrediente in più non segnato sul menù (melanzane e visciole). I prezzi in media di questo periodo (alti). Da provare

05/08/2024: Super recommended restaurant, you need to book.... Excellent and fresh food... Very fresh octopus, very good first courses... Divine gnocchi and also the package with swordfish and aubergines... Delicious mussel and clam soup Generous portions and fair bill.. Highly recommended

30/07/2024: During a visit to a beautiful beach in Gaeta, I found myself stuck in traffic on the way back. On the recommendation of a local bar, I decided to stop for dinner at this restaurant. At first I was a little hesitant, fearing that it was a gourmet restaurant and therefore very expensive. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is cared for down to the smallest detail and the staff is numerous and attentive. The food was truly delicious, with generous portions that fully satisfied my appetite. I left the restaurant with a full belly and a great sense of satisfaction. Furthermore, the service was quick and the prices were very affordable. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in the area. It was an excellent dining experience that I will definitely repeat.

29/08/2023: Ristorante familiare in campagna con ampio parcheggio e grande terrazza coperta. Fin qui tutto bene. Negli ultimi la cucina ha sterzato su tutto pesce, con una cucina semplice, che utilizza quasi sempre surgelato (tranquilli, lo fanno quasi tutti...). Il prezzo, tuttavia, appare cresciuto veramente troppo negli anni. Tanto da domamdarsi se vale la pena tornare. Meriterrebbe una riflessione, o offrire qualcosa in più. ad esempio antipasti più abbondanti come quantità per venire incontro agli ospiti. servizio gentile.

03/09/2024: Location da incubo. Strapieno ci hanno fatto accomodare in un corridoio a 40 gradi. Cibo scadente, salmone marinato servito con l'olio bianco delle scatole in cui era immerso, riso alla pescatoria con sole cozze e avanzi di non si sa cosa: salato ed immangiabile. Per non parlare dei camerieri che grondavano gocce di sudore sui piatti stessi che portavano e non sapevano a chi dare resto. Per finire bagno retrostante da incubo: sembrava Kabul e bagno in condizioni igieniche impossibili oltre che indecente. Negativo in tutto

22/07/2024: Quantità rapportati sia al prezzo che all’estrema qualità dei prodotti proposti. Tutto estremamente buono e pieno di sapori di vero mare come non sentivo da anni. Una vera specialità è la pasta alla vongole che nella sua semplicità ha racchiuso un tripudio di sapori indescrivibili. Personale gentilissimo e disponibilissimo. Dolci estremamente gustosi e fatti assolutamente a mano. Estremamente consigliato!!

11/07/2024: Abbiamo speso 98 euro in due per non mangiare. Un'orata 50 euro il che mi sembra alquanto eccessivo vista la località e la location. L'antipasto per due 28 euro, la cameriera aveva detto bastava per due invece non è stato sufficiente nemmeno per uno, siamo usciti con la fame. Mostra meno

16/08/2024: I don't even know where to start, but I would like to start from the only positive note, even if not too positive... the place! We were 7 people on holiday in Gaeta and we were looking for a quiet place similar to a Roman hosteria that could satisfy adults, children and vegetarians. We found this place on Google and from the menu description we decided to go. As soon as we arrived we noticed that it is located on an uphill road, a little dangerous because cars pass by and it is narrow... but upon entering the place it immediately makes a good impression on us, fresh, tidy, clean and all the foods on display in the shop windows, from fish to fruit, but this is where the problems begin... we had booked for 7 and they prepared a table for 5, once seated at the table we noticed that in the room where we were there it was at least 20 degrees and considering that all outside there were at least 32, we ask to lower it a bit because they were starting to get cold...we look at the menus, some of the figures are affordable, others are not...since it's 10.30pm they ask us not to choose elaborate food because the kitchen was in closing, so we book appetizers and pizzas. In the meantime, no one turns down the air conditioning, my mother-in-law was feeling unwell and my 8 year old daughter was shivering with cold, we called back to have it turned down. The dishes arrived after about 30 minutes, the Atratino starter was very good, the pizzas were some very good, others a little chewy, but the peppery mussels left something to be desired... the mussels were as small as 5 cents and many were empty . My partner orders a glass of house wine for €5 from a second waiter, 5/10/15/20/30 minutes pass and we see him wandering around the room and looking at us from time to time, whereupon he is asked again for the glass, he brings it to us after another 5 minutes and it was 2 fingers of wine!!!!! At this point we ask to speak to the room manager to understand and he arrives directly with the bottle of wine to fill the glass and from this we understood that not all the waiters are trained for service. We finished dinner and no one ever turned down the air conditioning, we were cold, some with a headache and some with a stomach ache (from indigestion), we women went towards the exit to smoke a cigarette and in the meantime, we almost came hit by a car, which as I said before is a dangerous road! The men pay and return with a bill that makes your head spin, but leaving aside the food... what shocked us the most was the price of 1 LITER OF COCA COLA 6.00! I hope you can have a better experience than ours 😅

25/08/2024: Che dire ..locale splendido in una "Cala Feola "da sogno ... servizio cortese... amichevole e attento. Ambiente informale. Cibo eccezionale. La parmigiana di pale di fico è da provare assolutamente. Rapporto qualità prezzo giusto . Si mangia in un posto che definirlo meraviglioso è riduttivo...e poi il pesce è freschissimo e cucinato in maniera sublime !
