23/07/2025: We stopped by for a lunch during the trip in Capri, that was late March, just before the season opening so there weren't many places open yet. Al Capri was recommended by our Italian tour guide. The place is specious with lots of tables available, clean, with breath-taking views, decorated in Mediterranean style which is very welcoming. We ordered pizza and spaghetti al limone. That was best spaghetti I've had in Italy during the whole stay. The pizza was good, it didn't make in the top 3 out of 10 we tried though. Good selection of wine. The staff was friendly and helpful, the food was served in timely manner. The places has lots to offer, including the beautiful decor and views, good food and location- it's off the main square so it's not so crowded but still close La piazetta.

18/07/2025: Attirati dalla musica romantica di un bravo pianista live, ci siamo imbattuti in questo ristorante a pochi passi dalla famosa piazzetta di Capri. Subito accolti con gentilezza siamo stati accompagnati al tavolo a noi assegnato. Il nostro cameriere Angelo ( di nome e di fatto ) ci ha consigliato e coccolato. Il mio “Fusillone ai frutti di mare” è stato a dir poco sublime. Vista spettacolare e atmosfera incredibile. Super consigliato! Nancy B.

18/08/2025: Neapolitan pizzeria with a capital N. There were 5 of us, we had an appetizer, 5 pizzas, 2 draft beers, 5 cokes, 2 waters, 2 meloncelli, a limoncello, and 3 coffees... total 100 euros... a great price... you will find friendliness and professionalism. Try it, they accept credit cards.

18/07/2025: A group of friends went to this pizzeria to catch up after a long time apart. We found a room full of people with their children screaming like crazy. It was impossible to have a conversation, so much so that we came back with sore throats. There was only one waitress, assisted by another who came in sporadically, and no one in authority to ask these people to lower their voices. We were basically at a market. The appetizers were very good, but I would have something to say about the pizzas, which were poor in ingredients. Would I go back? Definitely NOT!

02/09/2025: We were looking for a local panini on the beach and found it at Samy's. It was rich with mozzarella, tomato, ham, arugula, and parmesan, and it was divine.

25/04/2025: Se apri il ristorante durante giorni festivi ti devi organizzare di conseguenza, non è ammissibile avere una certa pretenziosità e scarsissima organizzazione. Se dimentichi un ordina non devi arrampicarti sugli specchi ma scusarti con il cliente.

02/11/2025: We had passed by this restaurant which was right by our hotel, and dined at a couple of other restaurants. When we had dinner at ChezBlack, it was truly the best meal we have had, in Positano. My wife had the spaghetti and meatballs, which she declared were excellent. I had the lasagna, which was I believe some of the best I’ve ever had. The service was superior and the atmosphere by the beach with children in Halloween costume was very Vibrante. I would highly recommend this to any travelers to Positano. I also had the distinct pleasure of being introduced to and visiting with Signore Black by Roman, the Maître d', a wonderful host. A wonderful dining experience.

02/11/2025: Horrible attitude, reluctant to serve. They are also there to loot unnecessarily. There are hidden charges, for example if you are ordering food and eating in the restaurant there is a charge of 4 euro per person and this was mentioned after we finished our food.

29/09/2025: James and the entire staff was amazing. We had a perfect evening with our family and friends. The pictures don't do enough justice to just how wonderful everything was for us.

16/09/2025: We arrived around 9 pm and approached the manager, who appeared to be the one in charge, asking if there was a table for two. Initially refused, he invited us to take a table under the portico. We sat down, but it seemed as if we were invisible. No one even brought us water, nor a menu. About 15 minutes passed and still no one was in sight, so I went inside and complained to the manager about his behavior. After my complaints, he rudely asked me to leave and leave the table, a request I didn't hesitate to make. I can't judge the food, but rudeness and unprofessionalism abound in this establishment.

17/11/2025: We went for lunch on Sunday and I have to say it was a huge disappointment. The place is perched high up and parking is a little difficult if not impossible due to the small parking area. The location, although spartan, looks like they've put a bit of everything inside. We arrived at 1:45 pm and were immediately seated, and at 2:30 pm the appetizers arrived and I have to say they were decent. The problem arose with the first courses, which only arrived at 4:45 pm after many calls to the waiters only to receive the response "the kitchen is overflowing." The first courses were cold pasta and the hot dish was forgotten, only the Genovese was a saving grace, but the ragù and the grouper packets, I repeat, the cold pasta. As I told Mr. Camillo, if you can cook for 100, you can't seat 150 because there were many dissatisfied buzzards, and I have to say it was a negative experience that I wouldn't repeat. Last thing, put a light on the exit stairs because sooner or later someone will fall down in the dark 🤗🤗🤗

03/11/2025: Not a great experience at all! We called to check the availability of a table for 12:00 and they agreed. When we got there, the place was certainly charming, but nothing special. We were greeted rudely, almost as if we'd been treated like some kind of favor. Left alone at the table for a good 20 minutes, the girl came back to take our order. We asked to see a menu, and in an annoyed and impolite manner, she asked us to check Instagram! Okay, I ordered my daughter's dish, a simple pasta dish, and from the kitchen we heard someone yelling at us for having asked her to choose spaghetti instead of penne! Not at all professional! The dishes came out, but nothing exceptional, a fixed menu, the waiters were completely improvised, and it took half an hour to get a new napkin... except for the lady with the blonde bob and glasses who at least managed to be kind! In short, an experience absolutely not to be repeated!

17/10/2025: The Sicilian cod was good, but the pasta with frutti di mare was not al dente but almost raw and tasted nothing more than undercooked pasta, even though pasta is usually made well almost everywhere in Italy.

21/07/2025: Gran lugar para una buena cena en el centro de la ciudad de Amalfi, pero justo al subir las escaleras por la catedral principal que le da espacio lejos de los negocios de la plaza principal. Fuimos allí a cenar la primera noche en Amalfi y devolvimos nuestro abeto de ida y vuelta anoche. La comida era de lejos la mejor que tuvimos durante nuestra estancia en Italia. El aperitivo de pulpo (cocido lentamente durante muchas horas) fue el mejor pulpo que he probado. Los ñoquis de Nonna fueron los mejores ñoquis que he tenido (por suerte mi nonna no leerá esto). Están llenos de queso así que definitivamente para los amantes del queso. Mi compañero probó otra especialidad local, espaguetis con pesto de limón. Sin duda un plato muy único que disfrutó mucho (para los que les gusta el limón y la pasta). También probamos aperitivo de mariscos y fue impecable. El servicio era amable y acogedor y nos sentimos muy bien estando allí. Este sigue siendo nuestro lugar favorito en Italia y seguimos mencionándolo. Fue divertido, romántico, pero también un gran lugar para las familias.

Tourist trap that is way overpriced. I’d never go back under any circumstances. 19/10/2025: Don’t do it. As said in other reviews, this business is greedy. A reservation was made by our tour guide for lunch, when we got there the waiter asked if we were having just drinks. We said we intended to have lunch. We ordered drinks and realized my husband didn’t care for the menu. We said we changed our minds and wanted just drinks. The waiter said if we didn’t order lunch they would charge us 100€ for the little boat that took us from our tour boat to the restaurant (less than 50 feet). He said it was the owner’s policy. We had to eat lunch there. I also heard an older couple at the table beside us ask if they could split a risotto. The waiter said no. This place was not packed, and we were in fact the first people in the place. We told our tour company who said that little boat transfer was included in our tour cost and vowed to never recommend them again. Terrible service.

12/10/2025: We arrived at Ristorante Di Giorgio almost by chance, looking for a quiet place to spend our last hour in Capri before catching the boat. The place was completely empty, but the setting was pleasant and the initial service was decent. It was quite windy that afternoon, so we decided to stay a while and order something light: two pizzas. The menu prices are reasonable for the area—especially considering the view and location—although they charge €4 per cover, which is important to keep in mind. The pizzas had good flavor, thin crust, and were cooked properly—not spectacular, but adequate. What was awkward was the ending: when we got up, the waiter quickly came over to ask if we had left a tip and lifted the napkins to check the table. It was a very awkward gesture, especially since, with a €4 cover charge per person, we assumed the service was included. Despite that detail, I wouldn't say it was a bad experience. The place is quiet, with reasonable prices and good food, but the insistence on tips took away from what could have been a much more enjoyable moment. 💡 Helpful Tips: Check the cover charge before ordering; it's already included in the bill. If you're going for a quick pizza, this is a convenient option near the center. 12/10/2025: Superlative restaurant. Amazing first courses. Quality ingredients. Smiling, accommodating, and knowledgeable staff. First and foremost, our super Giorgio. 09/11/2025: Ok so… I don’t know how they can afford the location with the lack of quality or charisma. The real estate is 10/10. Gorgeous. The food? Terrible. The service? It’s like they were even surprised we sat down. The prosciutto was dry and gross. The cheese was the driest mozzarella I’ve ever seen. The staff was unbothered. My Aperol spritz was ok though.

09/11/2025: It’s worth it just to stopped by, order a fitzgerald, a beer or whatever you are into to.. and enjoy the view
