A clear recommendation, over all
30/05/2025: Superb atmosphere, pretty exterior, in a small quiet square away from the crowds, top-notch staff and service, succulent appetizers, dishes and desserts. We hadn't booked and luckily we were able to get a table! A very nice table to make!

13/05/2025: Nice discovery for me .. excellent welcome from the very nice guys .. really very nice place, in the evening in my opinion it must be spectacular with the light contrast ..! Excellent quality of the products. From the appetizers and the beans are the bomb 😋😋😋 .. excellent opinions heard at the table from the other diners with me (I had a Chianina hamburger with potatoes, really good). .. excellent wine list too .. I recommend it for those who love meat obviously but not only. (Greetings from the table of the 6 finished bowls 😂)

24/05/2025: A restaurant with a splendid view of the lake and the tip of Bellagio. Quick service in a crotto environment but the dishes are well cared for by the kitchen; the pastas are al dente and the sauces delicious; even the fish from the lake is worth trying. Narrow road to get there but you can find a place somewhere.
23/05/2025: Restaurant with spectacular views. About a 30 minute walk from Varenna, the food we had was delicious, professionally presented and the service was very pleasant.
Highly recommended!

03/06/2025: They wanted 50 Euros cash to make a reservation on a Tuesday evening. Pretty disappointed, but I’d much rather give my 50 Euros to a restaurant that’s away from the hustle and bustle who could use the money more.
02/06/2025: Excellent quality, I especially appreciated the orecchiette al lago.
However, it would be better to have more options for appetizers, especially with local ingredients.
The price is ok since it is in a very touristy place

19/05/2025: The room has a lake view, very beautiful, clean, the pillows and blankets are warm and comfortable. The restaurant has a very nice view as well. The breakfast is very good quality. The staff is very helpful and service-minded. It is a safe hotel.

Hotel Villa Cipressi Restaurant

26/05/2025: The hotel closed to the public for private event today and does not let the public to go into on 26th May/ today. We were hoping to go and very excited for the garden to view.
We only visited to villa monastero unfortunately. We don’t know when we can visit lake como again in our lifetime.
26/05/2025: I find the price very very expensive for what it is, the gardens are very beautiful but 10€ entry to see some gardens and an hour of waiting to take a photo in front of the doors is a shame, it is very beautiful but a little less expensive like the other villas on the lake would have been more appreciated

26/05/2025: If you are asian or people of color, you will be only sent to small seperate area. They never allow you to seat at main area even if seats are available. You should read through reviews in the past. this is so ridiculous. i cant believe this still happens in this era.
21/05/2025: Was one of my best meals in a two week trip in Italy. The staff was very accommodating to kids. The food was out of this world good! A must try if staying in Varenna! We got the duck and the ravioli!

14/03/2025: Nos alojamos en Varenna y decidimos comer aquí para el almuerzo, con muy poco tiempo de antelación. Mientras que era tarde en el servicio de almuerzo, estaban felices de acomodarnos. El servicio era genial, las vistas fantásticas y la comida aún mejor. Los ñoquis fueron los mejores que había probado. Vale la pena visitarlo.
23/10/2024: L'endroit est tout simplement magnifique, un petit hôtel dans le centre de l'un des plus beaux et romantiques villages du lac de Côme, et en bord de mer, avec deux terrasses reliées par un petit chemin, d'où la vue sur Bellaggio et les deux bras du lac est vraiment époustouflante.
Le niveau de service est quasiment celui d'un palace mais les prix très contenus pour la qualité des plats servis, je dirais donc certainement le meilleur rapport qualité prix de Varenna. Loin de la succession de terrasses bondées qui font face au petit port, on passe un moment hors du temps.

24/01/2025: Cogimos el ferry de Argegno a Varenna, que es bastante barato. Definitivamente necesito buenos zapatos para caminar como un montón de caminos irregulares. Solo un paisaje muy hermoso y tantos lugares agradables para almorzar. Pasamos 4-5 horas explorando. No te decepcionará Varenna.

16/04/2025: Spent 5 nights here as we explored Lake Como. Varenna is a beautiful village and the hotel location on the square is charming. Our room was quiet and comfortable with spectacular views of the lake. Breakfast buffet is a treat. Staff is very helpful and made great restaurant suggestions. We had an emergency situation when we checked out when our prearranged taxi was in an accident and hotel staff arranged for transportation within 30 minutes to get us to airport. We are so appreciative
11/04/2025: Had the dreamiest stay in Varenna here with a perfect view and convenient access to wonderful restaurants and attractions like Villa Monastero. Staying here also gives you access to the Villa Cipressi botanical gardens next door which is quite a treat. The AC in the room was outstanding and they had great shower pressure in the room as well. The included breakfast is quite lovely. Highly recommend staying here!

We stopped for 1 night here and the room was terrible
The window is like prison bars on the upper part of the wall and is extremely humid and small with a noisy AC
The bed looks like twin beds with a gap in the middle that’s unevenly divided - hostel much?
The whole building smells like a hospital
The receptionist dude can use a smile. We didn’t have time to try the breakfast so can’t comment on that, however the breakfast lady was nice she checked us out when we the receptionist wasn’t there
Such a rubbish place, not recommended
26/04/2025: Bardzo smaczne miejsce, pyszne owoce morza i oczywiście pizza, miła obsługa zadbała, żeby szybko ogarnąć stolik dla naszej 8osobowej grupy. Polecam, miejsce warte odwiedzenia.
