24/06/2025: I am reluctantly writing this review for the rude guy who answered the phone a little while ago. I called at 3:50 PM to order two take-out pizzas to pick up around 10 PM. Tonight in Imperia there are fireworks for San Giovanni, so imagining the chaos I thought I would play it safe and book. As soon as I mentioned my request, this guy answered me annoyed with a nice: "And you can book me the pizzas now for tonight at 10?!" Said with that annoyed, arrogant and out of place tone that immediately puts you off. I got nervous and cancelled the order. Thanks for your kindness, champ. If I had no doubts about where to order before, now I'll think about it for a moment.

Excellent baked lasagna tonight, don't drown in bechamel, enviable pizza and farinata, stuffed vegetables different from what I expected but not leftovers and an uncompromising creme brulee. 09/05/2025: Entrare da Grappolo nn è entrare in un ristorante, in una enoteca, bensì entrare in un’altra dimensione ove Laura Semeria di avita famiglia Onegliese, laureata in scienze e tecnologie alimentari nonché vigneron in quel di Cheverny ti accoglie cn uno charme ed un calore tutto d’oltre confine. Snocciola le proposte che Manu, cn rara sapienza, realizza. Nn è stata una cena bensì una esperienza sensoriale inusuale Brava Laura, brava Laura. La cucina è padronanza assoluta della tecnica cosa che Manu Sa fare benissimo

06/07/2025: I understand the tiredness, however it is a job you have to be kind and respectful with people, in addition they always close earlier than expected, they don't even let you sit outside at the tables, or they come to clear by banging tables and chairs while you are eating. Too bad

25/06/2025: An experience to forget, “Kitchen Nightmares” style. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend it. Not so much out of malice, but to avoid others experiencing the same disappointment. We booked a week in advance for 1:00 pm, attracted by the many positive reviews. Upon arrival, however, the wait standing for over half an hour and the total lack of organization immediately left us perplexed. When they finally assigned us a table, we were told: “Move or they’ll steal it.” Not exactly a warm welcome. The water arrived after ten minutes, the menu after twenty, the bread another ten – and only after repeated requests. After almost forty minutes, the dishes arrived only after we had warned them that we were leaving. The food, unfortunately, was unable to redeem the service. The spaghetti allo scoglio were tasteless, they seemed to be prepared with less than fresh ingredients. The scampi gnocchi were drowned in cream – a questionable choice for a fish dish – and the scampi could be counted on one hand. The place is spartan, noisy and the atmosphere is more reminiscent of an improvised canteen than a restaurant. The service seems to be the victim (or accomplice) of a careless management, and the quality of the dishes is not up to par even with the reasonable prices. Those who appreciated it, perhaps had a different experience than ours. But if you are looking for a good meal and a minimum of attention to the customer, perhaps it is better to look elsewhere.

23/06/2025: Unfortunately we didn't have a good experience. The waiters ignored us for 10 minutes and didn't bring us the menu card or asked us for drinks. We left afterwards even though we were hungry :-(

31/05/2025: Cibo ottimo, ingredienti freschi e prodotti tipici del territorio. Ada, la proprietaria, è un’oste straordinaria: accogliente, appassionata e sempre pronta a spiegare i piatti con cura. Servizio attento, sorridente e caloroso. Un’esperienza autentica, ci si sente in famiglia. Consigliatissimo!

Attentive, smiling and warm service. An authentic experience, you feel like you are part of the family. Highly recommended!

The location on the sea is fantastic, the food is excellent and above all there is a variety of dishes both in the restaurant, with dishes from South American cuisine, and for the famous pinse, an interesting alternative to pizza. All the staff is fast and efficient and the owner Bruno is kind and friendly. A place where you will gladly return

02/07/2025: returned yesterday after a very long time, the atmosphere, food and service are always excellent. warm stockfish salad with potatoes, cherry tomatoes and taggiasca olives, an excellent dish to not feel heavy with the current temperatures, but I still couldn't resist a first course that I hadn't eaten in a long time: pansoti with spectacular walnut sauce, with lots of crumbled walnuts not only to garnish the dish but to enhance its flavour. the dessert was a more than pleasant surprise: first time I tasted the basil cheesecake with chocolate flakes, very fresh and very well balanced. I hope it won't be too long before I can return again, because 'C'era Una Volta - Trattoria Artigianale' for me is now a fixed point for the discovery or re-discovery of the flavours of Genoese cuisine.

19/06/2025: Following a recommendation from our vacation rental landlord, we reserved a table at this restaurant. The pizzeria specializes in large pizzas for two people, and they offer a very large selection of different pizzas on the menu. Due to several large parties that evening, it was unfortunately not possible to order two small pizzas due to the extra effort involved. The service was very friendly. The pizza tasted absolutely fantastic; the crust was wafer-thin; we've rarely had such a great pizza. The price was also totally reasonable, and the atmosphere was lovely with a view of the local church. We'd be happy to come back :)
