22/01/2026: Highly recommended! A wonderful example of top-quality cuisine fused with homemade flavors. This small restaurant is worth a visit, so it's worth booking a few days in advance. It's worth it for the food, the service, and the wonderful feeling of welcome you experience. Truly exemplary! The fondue and sausage gnocchi are exceptional, not to mention the house appetizers (truly superb).

01/02/2026: Everything was truly delicious, from the raw fish tasting to the steaks to the desserts. The revisited Jewish-style artichokes with a special sauce were also excellent. The rustic atmosphere was very nice... just a little noisy.

24/01/2026: We celebrated a birthday with 50 people here at Borgo del Cacchione and were very satisfied. The room reserved for us was very welcoming, the staff were extremely kind and attentive, and the dishes were exquisite (Roman specialties, meat, and excellent vegetarian options). Everything went perfectly thanks to the team's professionalism and their attention to detail.

06/03/2026: I went there a while ago and had a great time. But today was a real disaster. The portions were tiny; the fettuccine with guanciale, artichokes, and pecorino cheese was inedible. The artichoke strips (I think they were canned, not fresh) were practically boiled. I don't recommend it.

22/02/2026: The atmosphere was very pleasant, especially the front room. The wait staff were friendly and attentive, and we really liked the owner who came to take our order, even listing the off-menu items. The appetizer was very interesting, placing a lot of emphasis on vegetables. I find this a very intelligent choice, given that too often an excessively high-carb and high-fat starter ruins the following courses. However, we were very clear about wanting to focus on the first and second courses. The Amatriciana was exceptional, but the off-menu fettuccine with artichokes and guanciale was also excellent. The oxtail stew was perfectly cooked, with the tomatoes cooked just the right amount of time, and the flavorful meat fell apart just as it should. The other second course, the masterfully cooked lamb chops, remained juicy and flavorful, an undeniable quality. The side dishes were also traditional: puntarelle and Roman-style artichokes, the latter with such a subtle and perfect hint of lemon that I was amazed. After all, with such simple dishes, quality and the smallest details are crucial. Everything was perfect and we will definitely be back on our next visit to the area.

13/02/2026: Excellent artichoke experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Delicious dinner at Valerio in Grottaferrata. I tried the appetizer with artichokes, arugula, and parmesan (very fresh) and the first course with artichokes, guanciale, and pecorino cheese, which was truly flavorful and well-executed. Quality ingredients and friendly service. Recommended if you're in the area.

23/02/2026: A very disappointing experience, especially due to the owner's attitude. We ordered cacio e pepe, clearly specifying that no pepper be added because it was intended for little girls. In other restaurants, they always specify whether the sauce is pre-made and therefore inevitably spicy; here, however, we were assured that they wouldn't add pepper. The result? An inedible dish, so spicy that little girls couldn't eat it. The waitress kindly insisted on remaking the pasta. A gesture we appreciated at the time, interpreting it as a way to correct the mistake. For this reason, we assumed the new dish was a thoughtful apology for the inconvenience. Instead, to our surprise, we found the dish properly added to the bill. When we pointed this out, the owner reacted rudely and unprofessionally, resolving the situation with argumentativeness rather than helpfulness and courtesy. Mistakes can happen to anyone, but it's how you handle them that makes the difference. Unfortunately, in this case, customer service was lacking. We won't be coming back.

30/11/2025: Wonderful place. We dined inside, but I'll be back to experience dining with a breathtaking view. Excellent food, friendly staff, and an absolutely excellent bill. The steak is huge and excellent quality. For work, I often eat at restaurants around Italy, and I can guarantee that this restaurant is a surefire winner for quality and fair prices. I've already passed the business card on to a couple of friends.

03/02/2026: We ate yesterday at this truly special place. As soon as you walk in, you immediately sense its authenticity. It's like stepping back in time. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the food is superb (the portions are equally superb), and the staff are friendly! It took us 40 minutes to get there, but it was worth it.

01/02/2026: I visited this restaurant with my wife, and what can I say? The good food and generous portions put it above average for castles. The restaurant has a very charming country-chic feel, although in my opinion, there are too many seats and it's quite cramped. The service is also quite attentive and friendly. From what I've written, some might wonder why it's given 3 stars. The reason is simple: I found the prices quite high for the quality of the food, but let's take things in order: The €4 cover charge per person, which includes table settings and service, would suggest something high-end, but the glasses and cutlery were dull. For that price, cutlery and glasses should shine. The food here is also quite high-priced. I have no complaints about the quality of the ingredients, but if you're charging €18 for a plate of tortelli, I expect them to be the right shape and not fall apart during cooking. We paid €91 for two appetizers, two first courses, and a dessert with a bottle of water. I think the bill is a bit overpriced. In my humble opinion, the correct bill would have been between 75 and 80 euros.

The portions are generous, and the quality is truly excellent, from appetizers to main courses. All in all, the price was very fair. Definitely worth a try.

At Ostetia Furlani, you can sense the passion and love for cooking that I define as "De core e de panza"!!! Generous portions and more than fair prices. The house wine, both white and red, is excellent; I recommend the red, also because it pairs better with the flavors they offer. The staff is friendly and attentive. Tamara's presence in the dining room ensures consistently attentive and thoughtful service, a true favorite for me and for many regular and returning customers. The restaurant is small but well-managed; I recommend booking at least a week in advance to secure a spot. I've been coming here for years, it's a guarantee, and I highly recommend it.
