22/06/2025: Sunday lunch after the exhibition at Palazzo Roverella. Classic Venetian trattoria with a fish and meat menu. A bis of saor di sardines and prawns: nothing special. A plentiful but not very crunchy fried fish and vegetables. A mixed salad, half a liter of house Glera, a small bottle of water and 2 bad coffees: 55.00 euros. Friendly staff. It was too hot

11/08/2025: We stopped for a quick snack while on a motorcycle. We ordered a plate of mixed cold cuts with cheese and excellent dips, along with two tasty glasses of wine. The guys who run the place are friendly and welcoming. We'll be back to enjoy the grilled food we saw served to other diners.

18/07/2025: Probably one of the cheapest places to eat in Venice. Meal sets at €15/€18 which include your food + drinks + coffee is an absolute steal! And no cover charge. Don’t expect handmade fresh pasta for the price, of course. The pastas were delicious with a homey feel, probably what an average Italian home cooked meal would taste like. That said, the flavour of the risotto was amazing. Coffee was also pretty good (balanced flavour with good foam) and rounded out the meal nicely. The waiters were very friendly and smiley, great service. Overall, come in with the right expectations that this is a more affordable average local option and you’ll have a great time

12/07/2025: What can I say about Aldo...a little gem in the area, the restaurant you mentioned...I'd love to eat something refined and unique tonight...but I don't know where else to go...then you remember Aldo and smile! Personally, when I want a risotto made properly, I have no hesitation, but the meat makes no difference...various cuts depending on availability, all worth trying and all equally sublime. The service is always attentive and professional, the girls are always lovely, and Galliano is always ready to recommend the right wine.

31/05/2025: Went for dinner with friends. Very nice and well-kept place with very polite and helpful staff. The service was not particularly fast and there were slightly too long waiting times even when the place was not full The dishes are good, average but poor A tagliata based on three slices of meat with 3 grilled vegetables is really not much. And in fact the quality/price ratio is too high It's a shame because the place is very nice

01/08/2025: There were four of us – two couples aged 27 to 30. The AI recommended this restaurant to us for dinner as an insider tip – a place that's also popular with the locals. We couldn't agree more! The staff was extremely accommodating, and the food was excellent. When a thunderstorm rolled in at the end of the evening, the staff volunteered to bring us an umbrella and escort us to our car. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and recommend this place to everyone. Best regards from Switzerland!

29/07/2025: The pasta was very good, and the tiramisu we had for dessert was excellent. Attentive staff and fast service. It's not cheap, with pasta costing around 20 euros. The price/quality ratio isn't bad.

29/07/2025: Late one afternoon, I had two spritzes and a soft drink, a toasted sandwich, a meatball with vegetables, and a mozzarella in carrozza. Everything was good. Very kind and attentive service; there was a slight delay in preparing one of the drinks, but that was excusable because it was a special order. The view of the square from the outdoor terrace was very pleasant. The prices were reasonable considering it's right in the center.

17/07/2025: An unforgettable birthday gift!! We celebrated my daughter's birthday at Hotel Metropole, and everything was perfect. It's a hotel with special charm, history, and good taste in every detail. The staff is attentive, helpful, and helped me organize my surprises. Many thanks to the entire Hotel Metropole team for your attention and for hosting this precious Venetian gem that has transported us to another era! We stayed in two types of rooms: the suite with a view of the Lagoon and the suite with a terrace and lagoon views; both were wonderful! A special mention also to the kitchen. They made an exquisite birthday cake and also excellent pasta. Without a doubt, if we return to Venice, we will stay at Hotel Metropole again! Susana Lopez

15/07/2025: I've only been once, and I have to say I won't be returning. Tastefully decorated but very sparse. Interesting menu, but very high prices and limited variety of side dishes. Fish cooked without much attention to plating or flavor. The fried food wasn't bad. No liqueurs were offered. The waiters were very young, impatient, and unsociable. Let's just say enthusiasm is another matter.

02/08/2025: The food was not bad per se, but was cold inside, which was really disappointing. The service was superb, very nice. Unfortunately we were there mainly for the food, that is why I give 3 stars.
