09/11/2025: This inn was a gem on our trip to discover Tuscany. It immediately strikes you with its location, its breathtaking view, and the tranquility that reigns.
The staff was super kind and helpful, suggesting modifications to the dishes to make them vegetarian-friendly. The flavors are authentic and homey, the dishes are seasonal, and the produce comes from the garden. The entrée and first courses were exceptional, as were the desserts, accompanied by coffee from the moka pot.

24/10/2025: 10/10 experience in Tuscany. This was the highlight of our recent trip to Italy. Alessandro and his family were so lovely. He is an amazing storyteller, a kind human, and so much fun to be around. We loved learning how to make homemade pasta, tiramisu and some other delicious Tuscan food. We had the most wonderful day with Alessandro and the other guests, the food and wine were delicious, and this is an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend!!!

09/02/2026: A place from another era, the dining room certainly isn't the most modern, but inside you can feel the spartan, timeless charm of bold Tuscany. Homemade, fresh dishes, made with top-quality ingredients, and truly affordable prices. As it is, it's a classic trattoria that always proves to be a sure thing, far from those places that turn out to be tourist traps. A family-run local restaurant. Their Cinta Senese ragù with pinci is unparalleled: a spectacle! Dishes are paired with local wines, usually from the Fanti winery. The view from the dining room is spectacular.
06/01/2026: We were lucky enough to find a spot on the veranda, which was definitely better than the dining room at the entrance. The waitress was very kind and helpful, even though she was alone that day, and as soon as a few more people arrived, service began to slow down considerably. The house antipasto is absolutely worth it; the bruschetta was one better than the last! As for the Pinci, however, we were disappointed both by the pasta (overcooked) and by the sauce for the pinci with ragù, which was delicious, but we weren't thrilled with the fact that it was "supported" by the white pasta. The house wine was good! Overall, it's a place I recommend for its value!

Castello Banfi - Sala dei Grappoli

10/11/2025: This was our second stay at Il Borgo but it won't be the last. The staff, from top to bottom, are dedicated to their jobs and you can tell they love working there. The wait and kitchen staff at La Taverna and La Sala dei Grappoli are true professionals. We enjoyed one meal at each and both were the highlights of our visit. We will happily make reservations next spring when we have our annual spring trip to Toscana. Keep up the great work!
01/11/2025: Our stay at Castello Banfi was the one the best vacation experiences. The staff was excellent and just the best. We loved every minute of our stay at Castello Banfi. La Taverna was amazing, the food excellent. We will do everything we can to stay again.

21/10/2025: If you are driving in Italy you can't go wrong with Si Montalcino Hotel. Clean, well kept with a very friendly staff. great parking that is close to the hotels lobby. It's only 5 minutes away from Montalcino which is a nice place to visit.

But anyone who thinks Il Giglio is "merely" a historical landmark or a splendid terrace overlooking the Val d'Orcia is mistaken.
In the heart of Montalcino, this place reveals itself to be a restaurant serving traditional cuisine and a wine cellar that truly immerses you in the heart of Brunello. It's by browsing the wine list that you understand Il Giglio's true stature. It's not just a list, it's a historical archive. 27/11/2025: We had a wonderful stay. The pool is large and really warm – even in the colder months. The service and friendliness of the hosts are exceptional, so I'm definitely giving it 5 stars. The only thing I didn't like "perfectly" was the dining room; I prefer a bit more privacy with more space between the tables, but that's really a minor point. You can easily reach some great hiking trails directly from the hotel, and the view is beautiful. We'll definitely be back!

It has a magnificent view of the Montalcino valley; otherwise, the place has simple, very spartan decor, but its true value lies in being a meeting place for the locals, the real ones. The croissants are average, but that's something it shares with other bars in town. The pizza is very good. The service is courteous, and the quality/price ratio is good.

17/01/2026: We were invited for a birthday party and had a wonderful lunch. Authentic food, a blend of Tuscan and Sardinian cuisine... the result was truly excellent.
29/12/2025: We went for lunch yesterday, we ate well, we had 1 pappardelle with tomato sauce for the little girl and it was very good and for us adults we had 1 veal stew and 1 tripe, all exceptional. Then we had 1 water and 1/2 bottles of red wine, 3 desserts and 2 coffees for €63. I would say the price is average, I don't think you can find anything less. Fast service. I highly recommend it.

From the welcome, to the decor, from the service to the exceptional food: everything was second to none. We can't wait to return to the enchanting hills to visit you again. The owner's smile when he brings you your food is genuine and sincere, ingredients that make guests feel at home. Not to mention the amazing food, all exclusively handmade. One of the ordered dishes (grilled vegetables) was missing and an additional bottle of water was added to the bill.
It all came together to make a rather disappointing impression.

01/03/2026: We visited Enoteca la Fortezza in Montalcino, and it was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our trip to Tuscany. The service was exceptional, especially from Mike, who welcomed us with attention, knowledge, and a genuine passion for what he does.
He explained the winemaking process in the region in depth: the differences between Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino, the characteristics of the terroir, the styles of each producer, and the particularities of the vintages. We had already done other tastings at wineries, but here the experience was even more complete, educational, and engaging.
We had the opportunity to taste wines from the Tassi winery, with detailed explanations throughout the tasting, going far beyond the basics. It was a true lesson about Montalcino in the form of wine.
The wine shop's collection is impressive, with carefully selected labels of the highest quality. The space is special: located in the Montalcino Fortress, it's even possible to climb the walls and enjoy the view, which makes the experience even more memorable.
Impeccable service, profound knowledge, and extraordinary wines. A must-visit for anyone who wants to truly understand Montalcino.
