Have a wonderful evening in Montalcino. At "il Moro" you'll find authentic Tuscan cuisine. The atmosphere is family-friendly, and the dishes are easy to savor. Good service and reasonable prices. We'll definitely be back.

Sadly I need to update this review. The food is still great. But Alessandro is no longer there. He was the heart of the place. Without his presence and hospitality the experience is just not the same. We have been going out of our way for the last 10 years to have a meal here and under the new management we will be looking for other places where we feel welcome. Too bad as we have made dozens of recommendations for other travellers to go here. If you’re in town still great food but I don’t suggest going out of your way for a meal.

Discovered on a recommendation last year because of the fixed-price menu, while I was wandering the dirt roads on my motorcycle. The food is exceptional, truly typical of Tuscany. Considering you're in the center of one of the most famous villages, you'd expect crazy prices. Instead, I was greeted by the waiter who immediately treated me kindly and offered me samples of bruschetta and wine. €20 includes a first and second course, a glass of wine, and samples of bruschetta and olive oil. I returned this year, and although I wasn't treated the same way by the waiter because he wasn't there, I still had a great time, and the price was still competitive. It's now a regular stop for me.

Lovely atmosphere and friendly service in the heart of Montalcino. I tried the pappardelle with wild boar sauce — the flavor was good and authentic, although the pasta was a little dry for my taste. The grilled aubergine was unfortunately quite dry as well. Overall, however, the experience was enjoyable and the restaurant has a warm Tuscan charm. A nice place to visit while in town.
