13/08/2024: What a great place to eat.
Michael is the perfect host and Sam was the perfect waiter. Seeing to our needs attentively and efficiently. Never having been to Tuscany before, Michael explained the different items on the menu and each we had was excellent.
I can recommend the roast chicken, the catch of the day (sea bass), the vodka and salmon penne, as well as the antipasti platters to start.
There is a large selection of restaurants in Lucca and whereas I can't compare this with all of them, it felt the most genuine of all the traditional restaurants in town.
Certainly a place to go if you want to feel welcome.
08/08/2024: My wife with celiac disease was served a gluten-free dish despite assurances that it was gluten-free, which resulted in poisoning. The owner is polite.

20/08/2024: Arriving after a long stretch of VIA VANDELLI we relaxed in this enchanting (almost surreal) place.
The swimming pool was unexpected and made us forget all the kilometers we had walked.
The vegetarian dinner made with vegetables grown by the 2 very kind managers was delicious. Our tastefully furnished wooden chalet and the music in the background allowed us total physical and mental relaxation! Highly recommended.
24/06/2024: During our hike on Via Vandelli we stopped at Osteria Namaste. Dante and his wife are wonderful. Everything was perfect !!! Go there, it's a great place.

15/08/2024: I'm surprised to see such positive reviews, I went for lunch and ate terrible, pre-cooked pasta and every sauce tastes the same.
Maybe in the evening we eat better, I don't know, but the menu of the day is horrendous.

There are several errors in this pizza... the taste isn't bad, but it wasn't cooked well (bottom) above (oven temp.), too watery tomato which wetted the dough, plenty of mozzarella (you can see it in the photo) which weighed everything down and didn't let it "breathe". the pizza. the dough is semi-wholemeal according to the lady who serves it, and the flavor denotes it, which you may like or not.
You have to ask for the receipt...
05/08/2024: There is incredibly good pizza here! Due to its location right on the street, the restaurant doesn't seem very inviting. Don't let this fool you! The pizza will make you forget everything! :)

13/08/2024: Great self service restaurant. Amazing fish and seafood at great prices, delicious wine. I can definitely recommend it. My family and I dined here almost every day on vacation, it was the number 1 place for us. The staff is always helpful and smiling. Definitely stop by when you're in Viareggio.

08/08/2024: I'm sorry there was only one person serving. But we waited almost two hours to start eating and the food (while not great, but not too bad either) wasn't worth the wait. Basically we left the place too late to even go for a decent walk along the seafront, where all the shops and most of the clubs had closed. In a context other than the summer one, perhaps we were better off.
07/08/2024: Locale piccolo e proprietario accogliente. A tavola su 4 bicchieri 2 erano ancora macchuati di rossetto , un primo di pennette in bianco crude crudissime, antipasto di mare che di pesce non sapeva nulla per non parlare degli gnocchi al gorgonzola e scampi, gli spaghetti con i canolicchi erano immangiabili e avevano uno steano odore. Mi dispiace ma x me non vale

29/07/2024: We went for an important birthday and to avoid suffering the heat, which we usually suffer outside in summer, we booked inside. Evening to forget!!!! As soon as we entered it seemed to be cool, then throughout the evening it was unbearably hot, which made for a terrible evening. You cannot have customers who are fanning themselves from the heat all evening as the air will certainly have been turned down or in any case not sufficient to cool the environment. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!
24/06/2024: The starters, the pizzas, the main courses, everything was super tasty, the service was really friendly. We felt very comfortable. 😀

24/08/2024: Buonasera, sconsiglio vivamente di ordinare prodotti in questo bar. La barista ha mostrato un comportamento poco professionale in seguito alle nostre richieste. Io e il mio amico abbiamo chiesto espressamente un capiroski alla fragola e un caipirinha per passare una serata gradevole. La ragazza al banco ci ha subito aggrediti con un fare scortese e maleducato : continue imprecazioni, battute fuori luogo e inoltre scarsa professionalità nell’esecuzione della prestazione. Lo zucchero di canna all’interno del Caipirinha non è stato diluito correttamente e la barista ha continuato tranquillamente a trattarci in modo poco consono e con scelleratezza. Gradisco spiegazioni dallo staff e delle doverose scuse poiché i soldi non piovono dal cielo e ci vorrebbe maggior attenzione,accuratezza ed educazione nel posto di lavoro. Mi dispiace perché il posto è collocato in un luogo suggestivo ed è un peccato non sfruttare tale potenziale.
