07/05/2026: I don't like crowds, so we found this place not far from the bustling Via Maquena. The sandwiches were truly appetizing just looking at them, but we opted for a lighter option, but we weren't disappointed at all. Nice place, tastefully decorated, friendly staff, and good food.

06/05/2026: We visited FUD Bottega Sicula in Palermo, and the taste didn't disappoint. The quality of the Sicilian ingredients is evident and truly makes a difference. ​What we ate ​The menu is a triumph of revisited local flavors. Here's our verdict: ​The Sandwiches: We tried the burger, and the meat was juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The bread is fragrant and holds the toppings well. ​The Pizzas: We ordered several variations, and they all received top marks. Light dough and generous toppings with top-quality ingredients. ​The Service ​Unfortunately, while the culinary side shines, the service had some issues during our evening: ​Slowness: The wait was a bit longer than expected. ​Overlooked: There was a small oversight in the order; one of the sandwiches was forgotten and only arrived after we reported it again to the staff. If you're looking for a high-end gastronomic experience that showcases Sicily, FUD is a guarantee. We'll definitely be back for the food, hoping for smoother table management!

26/12/2025: The menu wasn't updated online. We sat down and found only ready-made pasta sauces displayed at the counter, and a very salty pasta with clams, off-menu. Fresh fish by the kilo? None. Fish meatballs? Purchased pre-made and of poor quality. Swordfish rolls were very dry. The worst thing was that fried calamari, marinated shrimp, and pasta with bottarga were delivered to the table next to ours (all off-menu dishes that no one had informed us about). The only positive note of the lunch was the seafood salad. Never again.

22/04/2026: Excellent bottle shop with a well curated list of wines, or if you are into craft or European beers this is a must stop spot. I bought a small bottle on Cantillon to drink onsite, and bought a large bottle to take home to the US. I will definitely be back to stock up next time im in Palermo!

12/04/2026: A very friendly welcome, an extensive menu of both non-alcoholic and alcoholic cocktails. Delicious charcuterie and vegetable platters, all at a very reasonable price.

11/06/2026: The lasagna I ordered was awful. The meat was tasteless. The pasta was undercooked and half-raw. No béchamel sauce between the layers. The food was useless. A waste of money. I do not recommend it.

02/06/2026: A thoroughly enjoyable evening; everything was superb. We've been there twice; the food is absolutely delicious. The service was very attentive and friendly.

31/05/2026: Terrible customer service and proportions The customer service was terrible; they didn't explain the Breakfast Menu option (€15) properly. I ordered an egg and bacon sandwich. They gave me very little egg and bacon. I complained, and the guy said, "But there's egg on the plate, right?" I told him the problem wasn't that there wasn't any egg, but that there was so little for a sandwich that was quite large; I basically ate bread. He said they could give me more egg, and I agreed. He checked with the kitchen, and they immediately told me that if they gave me more egg, it would be an "extra." I told him I disagreed, and he said that's what they serve. I told him that if that's the case, it's not a proper brunch, because otherwise the portions would be much larger. THINK TWICE BEFORE GOING TO THIS PLACE if you want a good brunch, because you won't find it here.

27/05/2026: A lovely place for breakfast/lunch. The staff are so friendly and it is such a welcoming environment. We got the chocolate chip pancakes, fresh orange juice and a smoothie and it was so delicious and light. Would definitely recommend here if you are staying in Palermo!

19/04/2026: Our host recommended this place for breakfast. We ordered: an Iris frutta with ricotta and two apostle's fingers. The quality and deliciousness of these two desserts was amazing. Highly recommended, but be aware that you can't sit down.

09/05/2026: Our last dinner in Palermo was at this restaurant/pizzeria behind Piazza Politeama. Despite not having booked, and despite the fact that the place is truly huge, we were lucky enough to find a table outside, and I must say it was perfect. Fast service, truly delicious pizzas, and prices way below the "mainland" average. Definitely worth a try.

08/05/2026: I order a "mortadella and burrata" from the menu. I ask if the burrata can be replaced with buffalo mozzarella. The waiter nods. The final bill surprises me: the "mortadella and burrata" pizza costs €14 + buffalo mozzarella €5.50. I get up, pay, and leave. I don't think I'll be back. Pizza: 7 Transparency and fairness: 2

07/06/2026: Great experience! It’s the second time I come and it definitely lived up to expectations. I had the same meals as the previous time three years ago (squid ink pasta, seafood pasta with pistachio and grilled octopus) and they were just as good. They have a nice terrace hidden away from the main road. The service is also good. I’ll definitely come back again

07/06/2026: There were four of us in Castelbuono for the flower festival. We booked at Cycas after reading the reviews. It's not our first time in Castelbuono, but we'd never been to this restaurant before. It was a perfect choice... We were greeted very warmly and guided through our choices. We ordered an appetizer for two, but we split it between the four of us, and I must say we were right because we enjoyed the rest of the meal that way. Then we had two first courses, two second courses, and finally two desserts. Everything was truly excellent. The price was commensurate with the quality. We'll be back.

01/06/2026: We ordered a Senegalese Mafè and a swordfish roll. The Mafè lacked salt and seasoning; in Brazil, we would call it pot roast with rice. We found a piece of plastic in the potato that accompanied the swordfish, which we later discovered was an apple label. We received a discount for the inconvenience. The service was great, but the food was disappointing. For the price, it should have been better.
