31/12/2025: Delicious homemade food, real taste, heartwarming owners. The best!

30/11/2025: Today I visited Monreale with my family. It was beautiful. I called a local friend and asked where I could go for a traditional meal, and he suggested Al Matteotti Bistrot. I must say that Enzo and Domenico, the owners, welcomed me right away, making me feel right at home. Reading the menu, I was spoiled for choice, so I left it to myself. They served me some truly excellent appetizers and main courses, typical of the area and truly interesting in flavor. But beyond that, there's so much more to choose from, from sandwiches to salads, etc. When I return to Monreale, it will be my regular stop. I recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy excellent cuisine at a very affordable price. You'll find it just a few meters from the Piazza del Duomo.

14/04/2026: It's an unpleasant reality that some businesses treat their customers with contempt. This is one of those businesses. The restaurant initially appeared quirky, but it soon became apparent that it was dirty, incompetent and frankly disrespectful. We ordered fairly standard menu items for lunch and waited almost an hour whilst the staff ignored us. When the food eventually arrived it was underwhelming - 2 slices of aubergine and a bit of tomato sauce pretending to be a melanzana parmigiana, artisan bread with sardines that was simply a bread roll with a bit of tomato and cheese - no sardines! Portions were mean. Not only was the food bad, the service was rude and offhand. They still felt entitled to charge us for "service" and the price was ludicrous for something so basic and meagre. Just avoid this place, it's horrible. They work on the principle that tourists won't be back and new victims will be arriving tomorrow so they don't care.

12/04/2026: Zero service even during non-peak hour… We were 3 pax and gave us a table with 2 covers… even didn’t add another cover for the whole lunch. We ordered 3 drinks and only 2 glasses. We ordered 3 pizzas and only served us 2 pizzas. Not tasty at all. Waiting time very very long… All in all 1 hour wasted in here for an unpleasant lunch.

31/12/2025: Extremely expensive! Avoid. 12.50 for two cappuccinos, two pastries, and a small dessert.

05/04/2026: We had one of the most delicious pizzas in southern Italy, at a reasonable price, with great service, in a beautiful location! I can only recommend it!!!

31/03/2026: Rude staff, food arrived after a long wait and only after prompting. They even complained about the price. Water cost three euros...

12/04/2026: At first glance, it might seem so, so, as they say, appearances can be deceiving, the food is good, the staff are courteous, the service is excellent,
