14/04/2026: I can't understand why this place was rated 4.3 stars. The food was terrible. The pizza was awful, the quality was poor, it was reheated, the ingredients were from a can, there was no cutlery, no napkins, no ice or lemon wedges for the water, no large water bottles, only small plastic water bottles. The only nice thing about this bar are the two ceramic tables; we sat at one of them. That's real craftsmanship. Otherwise, it's just a place to grab a quick drink and maybe use the restroom. Be sure to bring your own soap. The staff wasn't unfriendly, but they weren't exactly friendly either.

25/07/2026: Breathtaking views accompanied by amazing cuisine, excellent service, and courteous owners and staff. Definitely worth a visit again, top marks!

19/07/2026: I've never written a review, mostly negative ones. The location is nice and has a view, but the staff is quite rude. When you simply asked about the menu, they'd be snide. The prices are also high (e.g., €18 for a very rubbery octopus; I'd pay less in Milan or get better quality). Plus, the waiters kept coming by to see if we'd finished picking up our plates, which may seem normal, but acting as if you couldn't even leave your fork on your plate is incredibly annoying: as if they wanted to tell us to "go away so we can make room for others."

25/07/2026: The restaurant serves delicious food and the pizza is amazing. Excellent value, with inevitable reflections on the excesses of other establishments. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

07/07/2026: I ordered three takeout pizzas, and the quality was truly awful. The oven was clearly electric, and the pizza looked more like a Roman pinsa, thick, crispy on the outside and raw on the inside. The ingredients (the sauce) were raw, and the onion added raw on top was burnt but not cooked, making it incredibly difficult to digest. I don't recommend ordering pizza from this place. I haven't tried the rest of the menu, so I can't comment!

21/07/2026: The rooms at the back of the restaurant are beautifully decorated. There's also a small but nice pool. The garden surrounding the pool is a bit shabby, but it's beautiful, but a bit pricey for the price.

19/07/2026: Bad experience, disorganized checkout. They should have been honest and told us in advance that there was no way to place an order, instead of wasting both of our time. Absurd.

13/08/2026: We ate here several times and every time the food was perfect. Especially maccheroncino della casa. Yes, sometimes we waited a bit longer for it, but it was always delivered with a smile and well worth the wait.

01/05/2026: Good cannoli and prices are okay. The staff were incredibly patient and friendly with my daughter—they let her choose exactly the cannolo she felt like having. I don’t quite understand why this place has such low ratings on Google Maps. The dolci looks there incredible :) It was open till the late hour, despite the fact that the weather was bad and there weren't too many tourists outside.

10/04/2026: I went to this place for lunch, and I have to say I wasn't very satisfied the first time. But when I was passing by with friends, they wanted to stop even though I said I hadn't had a good time. We decided to stop anyway, and I have to say it was an excellent choice! We were greeted by a young woman with a mesmerizing smile. She was truly beautiful, very friendly, kind, and above all, very attentive. She was at our table if we needed anything. We even joked with her, and I have to say she was very nice, but above all, very elegant, even carrying the tray. It was truly amazing! We ordered Sicilian bruschetta, a mixed platter, and what can I say? It was spectacular. Our palates exploded with pleasure. In all of Taormina, I've never eaten such wonderful bruschetta. Not to mention the spectacular parmigiana. My compliments to the kitchen staff. And I commend the owners for having such a cheerful and kind waitress. We'll definitely be back! 😍 We'll recommend it to everyone.

19/07/2026: If I order the catch, I expect to see the whole fish before being served, not the fish already cleaned and filleted and ready to be placed on the plate. Never happened in fifteen years in Sicily. Lost a customer. It's a shame because the location is amazing.

10/07/2026: One of the best restaurants we visited during our trip to Sicily. In my opinion, it’s underrated and absolutely deserves 5 stars. Not just for its atmosphere and view, but for the outstanding quality of its food as well.

01/08/2026: Gluten free pizzas and pasta available - to start I had a gluten free focaccia loaded with fresh tomatoes; for main I had a gluten free spaghetti carbonara - the food was delicious! 4 stars given as we had to wait a little while for a table and when we did get one it was very cramped - in fairness we were a group of 6 and we didn’t pre book so in future we would book ahead. Lots of veggie options too and everyone in our group really enjoyed the food. I recommend the Etna Rosso red wine - very smooth and drinkable! We had complementary prosecco on arrival and I was given a separately packaged GF roll whilst the remainder of my group had fresh bread. Service was great and we would definitely recommend this place for coeliacs and those who are also dairy free and veggie / vegan!

19/04/2026: A quick reflection: I've been frequenting Taormina since I was 14, when, penniless and a little envious, I would spy on the "grown-ups" sitting at the Mokambo café, which wasn't your average bar but a mandatory stop, not for everyone, to start the evening. Playboys and dandies would set the already sultry summer evenings ablaze with their presence, smiles laced with seduction on tanned faces and white suits with unbuttoned shirts. The evenings continued at the "Giara" of the great Cico Scimone and then the Manuli brothers. I watched them—Turi Pollicina, Mimmo Cassaniti, Vito Costa, Carlo Spina, to name a few—and I waited until I grew up to be able to match or surpass them. Love, betrayal, and unscrupulousness passed over those tables, and little by little I managed to secure a table that was always reserved in that whirlwind of emotions called Mokambo. Together with lifelong friends Giovanni Costa, Seby di Giovanni, Alfredo Minissale, Ugo Pollicina, and Guido Costa, we spent decades doing what was natural to us: experiencing the nightlife in all its strangest facets, to the fullest and without limits. Years later, now married and "with my head in the clear," as they say, I found myself in Taormina last Saturday evening with my wife, and after dinner at "cu ti lu dissi," an excellent restaurant in Porta Catania owned by friends Fabio and Francesco, we decided to have a drink at Mokambo. We walked along the Corso, with many shops closed due to the late hour (9:10 PM), and to our great surprise, we found Mokambo CLOSED. Asking around, we were told that closing time was 9:00 PM. 9:00 PM. 9:00 PM. How sad. One of the historic symbols of Taormina's nightlife closed at 9:00 PM. But does the new ownership (Dolce & Gabbana) know that nightlife in Taormina starts after 9 PM? Shame on them!!! The time for weirdness is certainly over for us, but I believe an era that saw us as the protagonists of the last episode is over!!!

29/05/2026: Great food, attentive but unobtrusive service, wonderful location, reasonable prices. Even more remarkable because they had no way of knowing until we paid that we were not just a couple of older tourists (although I did notice a number of local folks having lunch there.) Sadly, one of my favorite local restaurants has gone out of business due to the chef/owner's age and health, but I may have just found our new go-to for an enjoyable lunch out. This is one of those places that I will not only come back to, but will bring friends and family. Lunch for two, including wine and antipasto was €50. Menus in Italian, English, and German. Informal and family friendly.

16/08/2026: Very nice place, with incredible, authentic cuisine and a beautiful view. We stumbled upon it by chance but will definitely be back. Pasta with porcini mushrooms and macaroni alla Norma are highly recommended! Excellent ice cream. Thank you! We really enjoyed it.

01/08/2026: Best tiramisu I've had in Sicily. The ambience is amazing, with great and yellow seats on the terrace.
