14/10/2025: The hotel is showing its age, and the rooms could benefit from some new furnishings. The bed was wobbly, squeaked terribly, and the mattress was completely worn out. When the electricity is on (the key must be plugged into the room), it hums loudly. We turned it off at night so we could sleep. However, the location right on the beach is very good, and loungers and umbrellas are free to use. We couldn't/didn't want to use the hotel restaurant because 95% of the menu consists of fish/seafood dishes.

17/01/2026: We had dinner there tonight, and they even gave us brushes and paints to paint little pictures with! I ate well, and they prepared delicious dishes that were especially suited to me, a "special" case (I have a lot of allergies, intolerances, etc.). My companions ate pizzas and appetizers, and they were also very satisfied. The place is welcoming and relaxing, and I was very impressed by the care and attention shown to the customer, but I don't mean the kind of affected, formal, and polite "care," but rather a kind of spontaneous and rare kindness. Finally, the quality/price ratio is excellent. I will definitely be back and highly recommend it.

19/04/2026: A quick reflection: I've been frequenting Taormina since I was 14, when, penniless and a little envious, I would spy on the "grown-ups" sitting at the Mokambo café, which wasn't your average bar but a mandatory stop, not for everyone, to start the evening. Playboys and dandies would set the already sultry summer evenings ablaze with their presence, smiles laced with seduction on tanned faces and white suits with unbuttoned shirts. The evenings continued at the "Giara" of the great Cico Scimone and then the Manuli brothers. I watched them—Turi Pollicina, Mimmo Cassaniti, Vito Costa, Carlo Spina, to name a few—and I waited until I grew up to be able to match or surpass them. Love, betrayal, and unscrupulousness passed over those tables, and little by little I managed to secure a table that was always reserved in that whirlwind of emotions called Mokambo. Together with lifelong friends Giovanni Costa, Seby di Giovanni, Alfredo Minissale, Ugo Pollicina, and Guido Costa, we spent decades doing what was natural to us: experiencing the nightlife in all its strangest facets, to the fullest and without limits. Years later, now married and "with my head in the clear," as they say, I found myself in Taormina last Saturday evening with my wife, and after dinner at "cu ti lu dissi," an excellent restaurant in Porta Catania owned by friends Fabio and Francesco, we decided to have a drink at Mokambo. We walked along the Corso, with many shops closed due to the late hour (9:10 PM), and to our great surprise, we found Mokambo CLOSED. Asking around, we were told that closing time was 9:00 PM. 9:00 PM. 9:00 PM. How sad. One of the historic symbols of Taormina's nightlife closed at 9:00 PM. But does the new ownership (Dolce & Gabbana) know that nightlife in Taormina starts after 9 PM? Shame on them!!! The time for weirdness is certainly over for us, but I believe an era that saw us as the protagonists of the last episode is over!!!

10/11/2025: Thank God it was so crowded in Taormina with heavy traffic so we ended up in this great place. It is the best restaurant I've visited during my 10-day visit in Sicily. You can have a very good taste of traditional cuisine and taste one of many wines they offer. The atmosphere in the yard is just magical

07/05/2026: Delicious food, good range of gluten free options available too. I had marinara mussels followed by spaghetti al spangled, both of which were delicious and GF. Husband's caponata was fabulous (also available GF without the bread), he then had stuffed red squid. Both very happy diners, best meal of our week stay so far (day 4). Highly recommend.

21/02/2026: Casa della Pizza in Ganzirri is a must-see for mussel lovers. They prepare them in every way... and they're always a guarantee. The popped mussels are incredibly fragrant, plump, and cooked to perfection. The au gratin mussels arrive piping hot, crispy on top and soft on the inside. And even the simplest versions, like the mussels au naturel, are surprising for their freshness and flavor: you can truly taste the quality of the product. The service is also excellent, fast and friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming, as you'd expect from a historic local establishment. A place where mussels are an absolute must: try them and recommend them.

24/01/2026: A simply extraordinary place, where the gastronomic experience blends with the beauty of the landscape: eating overlooking the lakes is a pleasure in itself, but here it becomes a true ritual. I've been a customer for many years, and this place is a regular, almost obligatory, stop every time I return to the area. The dish that never disappoints is the spaghetti with mussels: exceptional, unsurpassed. The quality of the ingredients is immediately apparent, with the freshest, whole, never-crushed mussels cooked with great respect for the raw materials. A perfect balance between simplicity and authentic flavor. All this is accompanied by an absolutely fair price, consistent with the exceptional quality offered, a detail that is anything but obvious. A place that has managed to maintain its identity over time, without ever compromising, providing the same satisfaction every time.

09/09/2025: The pizza of my dreams! What can I say... one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten! The dough was light, well-leavened, and super digestible, with a crispy crust on the outside and soft on the inside. The toppings were generous yet balanced: you could taste the quality of the ingredients, from the stringy mozzarella to the flavorful tomato sauce to the top-quality cured meats. And for my celiac children? Gluten-free pizzas: truly delicious, flavorful, and with a dough surprisingly similar to traditional pizza! Finally, a pizzeria where even celiacs don't have to sacrifice flavor. I'll definitely be back.

28/08/2025: The pizza by the meter was truly excellent, with a soft and tasty crust. We also ordered two calzoncelli, which were delicious! The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended, we'll definitely be back! 🍕✨
