08/03/2026: The first and last time, a terrible experience regarding the requirement to choose the same starter so as not to embarrass yourself by delaying the courses... well! Plan better. If I decide to eat out on Sunday, I'll also have the right to choose what to eat, and the bill will be quite high in my opinion. Failed.

19/03/2026: We've been to this restaurant several times with the whole family and always love coming back – it's a real favorite! The atmosphere is always pleasant and inviting, and you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive. This time, we were particularly impressed with the food: the macaroni al ragù was simply outstanding – perfectly seasoned and incredibly delicious. For dessert, we highly recommend the cannello scomposto – an absolute delight! We were also very impressed with the house red wine. It's a pleasantly light red from their own vineyard that pairs wonderfully with the food. A big compliment also goes to the service: Michele is extremely attentive and friendly, and his warm manner ensures that you feel completely taken care of. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

The sandwiches are truly exceptional: fragrant bread, fresh ingredients, and original yet balanced combinations. You can taste the quality in every bite. The menu is varied and suitable for all tastes, from classics to more unusual options. The portions are generous, and the value is excellent. The staff is friendly, fast, and always smiling, and the atmosphere is welcoming and meticulously crafted, perfect for both an evening with friends and a casual family dinner. I will definitely be back to try more sandwiches! Highly recommended! 🍔🥪

20/12/2025: It's like coming home. The owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food is fresh and of excellent quality, carefully and authentically prepared by the chef, who serves generous portions, all topped off with a complimentary liqueur on the house! 5 stars plus!

30/10/2025: This charming restaurant in a courtyard has excellent food and friendly, attentive service. We loved the ravioli—one wit ricotta and tomato sauce and the other with ricotta and pistachio pesto. It was not crowded

29/10/2025: We ate here on our first day in Ortigia after a 24 hr travel day and it was steps from our rental apartment. We ate out in the courtyard and we had some delicious bruschette, ravioli and red wine. Definitely recommend!

14/11/2025: We've discovered a corner of paradise. If you're looking for relaxation, picture-perfect views, and haute cuisine, this is the place. The sea view is priceless, especially at sunset. The dishes are delicious, made with fresh ingredients and local recipes. The tranquil atmosphere and attentive staff made our dinner a memorable experience. Highly recommended for couples or families seeking peace and good food.

07/11/2025: Today, November 7, 2025, our third day in Palermo, visiting the monuments of this fantastic city, we come across a delicatessen at Via Vittorio Emanuele 389 whose aromas can be felt even in the street. Over the past few days, we've often eaten fish at various restaurants in Mondello and on excursions in the surrounding area (Bagheria, Borgo Porrini, Monreale, etc.), and many other Sicilian specialties. We enter this delicatessen, observing its characteristic tavern-like decor, and meet a gentleman named Amedeo Palermitano DOC, who graciously welcomes us and seats us at a shared table (it's raining outside). The atmosphere is promising, and we're seated right in front of the large counter displaying all the shop's merchandise. Behind the counter, a young Sicilian woman named Teresa practically does everything herself (she actually has the help of a young man who only takes care of the after-dinner service, and her father Anedeo, who, kindly, despite a few aches and pains, delivers things to the tables and attends to the guests' needs). We carefully watch Teresa prepare and order a platter of cured meats and cheeses, along with other small items for the two of us. Amedeo, at our request, recommends the wine, and we order two glasses: a red for me and a white for my wife, both from fine Sicilian wineries. The platter arrives and is truly marvelous: 6 or 7 types of cheese of varying consistencies, from ricotta with citrus sauce to provolone stuffed with olives and chili pepper, through other spicy and not-so-unique cheeses. The cheeses are accompanied by equally varied cured meats, such as mortadella and mortadella with herbs, capocollo, fillet, a unique cooked ham, salami, and prosciutto crudo. In the middle of the platter were some delicious marinated green and black olives and a small plate of eggplant with sauce and celery, honey mushrooms, and sweet and sour marinated pumpkin. My palate was overwhelmed by a variety of original flavors, and the glass of wine enhanced them. I won't deny that I even ate all the bread in the basket. Amedeo is a man with extensive life experience (an overager like me), and with him we talked about the South and our shared dream of seeing a respected, autonomous South, aware of its artistic and historical values, and of people who can foster a sense of belonging. I noticed two of Amedeo's loves: his daughter Teresa, to whom he gazes with paternal love, and Santa Rosalia, whom she jealously guards in a small niche within the restaurant. Teresa, on the other hand, is the hub of the delicatessen, the industrious part of the shop, combining the combinations and intertwining of cured meats and cheeses, as well as small gastronomic dishes of Sicilian delicacies. He's very knowledgeable, even in running this shop, and his passion for this profession shines through. Aside from the culinary delights you shouldn't miss if you're passing through (very close to the cathedral, the royal palace, and the church of San Giuseppe dei Teatini and Santa Caterina—practically at the center of these monumental masterpieces), I had the pleasure of meeting two people of great depth, both in their simplicity and thorough professionalism. For those interested in the god of money, we spent only 20 euros each. Greetings to Teresa and Amedeo. Long live Santa Rosalia.

08/10/2025: I stopped by because it was near my accommodation, and it was a busy place with a constant stream of locals. A brioche (delicious!), a croissant filled with apricot jam(?), a croissant filled with light green chocolate (I didn't know what it was, but I just picked it up because it was so sweet, I ended up digging it all up), and a cappuccino for €6.50. I was very satisfied.

07/10/2025: Typical Italian bar with many locals, a few covered tables on the sidewalk, friendly service, excellent cappuccino, and crispy cornetto.

15/03/2026: At Mafone's table that evening among simple dishes that tasted of the sea and of home. The bruschetta shone like little islands of warm bread crostini with baby clams and sea urchins, the salty flavor that spoke of the shore and the fishermen's dawn. A friend shouted poetry, poetry, then the steaming pasta, embraced with cuttlefish, octopus, and calamari, an intertwining of the sea and expert hands that transformed a Saturday evening into a small celebration. The glasses mingled softly, with the sparkling wine that tingled the tongue like a sudden laugh. And around the warmth of friends, that doesn't need great words just a toast, a knowing look, the breaking of bread together. Thus the evening passed slowly, among the scents of the sea and the cuisine, and the tavern became a port, to return to with the hunger of the heart and the joy of sharing. 🍷🌊 Daniela LoRito

22/09/2025: I've been here several times. Always very good, simple local cuisine, and the staff are very friendly. I recommend it to everyone. P.S. Park wherever you can and walk to the restaurant to avoid problems. A walk back after a large meal will do you good. While waiting for your food, there's a butcher shop next door that sells excellent raw sausages.

15/02/2026: First of all, Ma Trota restaurant is located in the municipality of Noto, not Palazzolo Acreide. With friends on Saturday, February 14th, we ordered only pizza. We waited over two hours. No one apologized for the poor service. We paid €20 each for a regular pizza and a small beer.

19/11/2025: An exceptional restaurant in the heart of Palermo. It offers refined cuisine in an intimate and welcoming atmosphere, ideal for a romantic evening or dinner with friends and family. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive to every request. The cuisine is an explosion of delicious flavors. I personally enjoyed a tapas tasting and sampled many of their dishes, each one more delicious than the last. Highly recommended.

14/10/2025: THIS IS NEXT LEVEL EATING!!!! Paola and her team are the BEST. I couldn't help myself & visited this place on a number of occasions including my birthday. They really made me feel special on that day and they speak great English. LOVED EATING AT THIS PLACE

02/11/2025: We were a group of seven and had reserved a table, which I highly recommend. The view and ambiance were fantastic, the service was attentive, and the food was delicious! The prices are comparable to German restaurants, although the great location certainly plays a role. We were very satisfied and would gladly return!
