20/06/2024: Wow. One of the most amazing meals I’ve ever had combined with incredible service. We got the Raw Tuna Mix as a starter, the carbonara and the grilled Tuna for the first & second course and the dessert ravioli. We cannot recommend more. Grazie millie!

05/12/2024: Autumn Saturday, for lunch: we were advised to book (six adults and two children): it was (and I think it always is, here!) good advice, because the place is really sought after. Very positive first impact: pleasant atmosphere, quiet, comfortable and welcoming environment. We ordered starters, first courses and second courses, all different, to enjoy (with numerous cross-tastings) as many of the proposals as possible. The menu (presented in a very elegant paper form: something uncommon now...) is essentially based on the sea (the preparations with tuna were particularly appreciated); but it also suggests all the local specialities, typical of the Tabarchine tradition: the pasticcio, the cappunadda, the cascà, the bobba are perfect. Unanimous opinions: whatever the choice, the freshness and authenticity of the ingredients emerges, in well-prepared dishes, with an authentic and genuine flavour: after all, we ourselves were present at the delivery of the catch of the day, from which we then drew! The advice and explanations of the owner, who was always attentive and pleasantly present, were invaluable. The wine list is good, the service is truly excellent, thanks to a quick, courteous, professional staff. Generous portions, bill appropriate to the level, with an excellent quality/price ratio. In summary, a very positive experience (to be repeated: also to taste the chef's fish soup!): high quality food, with authenticity of flavors in a rich and varied offer.
10/11/2024: Excellent restaurant, the food is good and fresh, well presented and with nice portions. The staff and owner are very friendly and they also have gluten-free options available. The service is quick and precise, definitely a good experience, highly recommended

16/11/2024: Il locale si trova in prossimità del porto, ma per trovarlo devi camminare lungo i vicoli.
Ampio menu di terra e mare. Il tonno era ottimo e abbondante, buoni gli antipasti. Sono aperti a Novembre, già questo è motivo di un voto alto.

19/10/2024: I found the Il Corsaro restaurant unexpectedly very nice, I ate very well, the seafood trio was delicious, the paccheri with lobster was excellent and not least the tuna scalloped with artichokes!! The waiters are very nice!! Fair price!

15/11/2024: We were directed to another restaurant but then, recommended by a local, we diverted to Galaia.
Friendly welcome, located in a small street in the center, we were impressed by the location, a mix of Mediterranean colors, and even more so by the quality of the food.

31/08/2024: Posto raffinato carino anche all interno noi abbiamo cenato nella veranda, ottima selezione di antipasti poi ravioli di cernia, spaghetti al nero seppia e pesce spada gratinato tutti ottimi, servizio rapido cortese ed efficiente, conto caro ma di fatto onesto un luogo da consigliare decisamente

10/12/2024: Value for money absolutely out of line. 22 euros a microscopic tuna tartar, full of fat and cartilage that I had to discard, on top of a tasteless burrata. The seafood carbonaras arrived at the table all very salty even if cooked at different times (this implies a mistake upstream of the line) with incorrect creaming (curdled). I didn't like the fried food, with the fish being of little quality and quite greasy and heavy (waited for almost 40 minutes after the others had already finished eating).
The trio of tuna samples were absolutely too expensive (30 euros) for three pieces of tuna as good as many other tuna dishes I've tasted around. I hope not to read the usual tale of raw materials and processing as a justification answer because in Carloforte we all know how much good tuna and Ventresca and fish in general cost; and if you want you can create dishes with excellent raw materials without applying these prices.
In my opinion, for these prices the restaurateur must be able to offer a very high level both in the kitchen and in the dining room, something that has absolutely failed here. Those who frequent high-level restaurants assiduously will agree with me on what I say, at that point I prefer to spend double or triple, but for it to be truly an experience.
Last point which is not clear to me, first Nicola came to illustrate the wine, then he was the chef in the kitchen and then to do the math, I didn't appreciate this aspect.

06/08/2024: The raw fish is absolutely not up to the price expectations, for €35 we are served an oyster, two prawns and 10 raw limpets. Once we complained about the price and what we were served, apart from nods of agreement, we were given no explanation or incentive to return to do better. After a splendid day at the beach, a terrible end to the day leaves a serious shame on the island. Choose something less expensive and more commercial and perhaps you will do better.

16/10/2024: The trattoria was a real discovery, the innkeeper won us over with his kind manner, absolutely worth trying with the Carlofortina pasticcio, the salad with the typical Carloforte brindle cicumbers, gallette tomatoes and the inevitable tuna as well as the pasta alla Carloforte which was truly balanced and tasty!!
12/10/2024: An excellent and delicious lunch... the Carlofortina pasticcio is superb. Congratulations for the excellent cuisine and service. The girl he brings to the table is very kind, smiling and smart. Congratulations indeed. I will definitely come back every time I come to Carloforte

16/11/2023: The restaurant is run by a real crook. A first-rate bullshitter. Honestly the food is quite good, but the portion for a primo piatto of pasta at 18€ is ridiculous. The big blow was a medium-sized fish without accompaniment which I estimate at 400-500g max was supposedly weighed at 600g and charged €48.
We got out at €98 for 2 people, the most expensive restaurant we had in Sardinia and we were still hungry afterwards. The chef and manager came to see us a few times during the meal, but at the end of the meal his waiter came to bring us the extremely high bill and immediately entered the amount on the card machine to put pressure on us. Didn't see the manager again who hid in his kitchen. I strongly advise against it. At this price, go to a real gastronomic restaurant like the Ristorante da Andrea al Cavallera or the Sandolo.
18/10/2023: I'm sorry I wasn't able to try the dishes as they are in the photo, unfortunately the only one I wanted to eat a few evenings ago (the fregola) was small in quantity, too soupy for the paltry content of fregola and fish and not very tasty. 22 euros for a dish plus 3 euros cover charge each (without even a paper placemat) little bread and two miserable triangles of carasau bread left us hungry... It's
It was an expensive expense for a disappointing dinner.

08/10/2024: We stayed 2 nights in this establishment and we occupied a recently renovated room in the small building connected to the main building.
We did not stay long enough to judge the quality of the staff, but the hotel is well placed, opening onto the marina, close to the center of Carloforte.
The main building has a lot of charm and the garden at the back of the building is very well maintained.
Nothing to report regarding the cleanliness of the room: the bathroom is functional with a cabin shower.
The breakfast is ok, nothing more.
A recommendation for having visited one: avoid the rooms at the back of the main building, without windows and very poorly lit.
