05/06/2026: When you dream of finding that one amazing restaurant while you're visiting Italy... you've found it, it's Taberna Santona. I walked in on a Friday evening not long after they opened. I'd read many great reviews and was nervous that the place would be fully booked, but to my surprise there was a choice of tables both inside and outside. All the staff spoke Italian with me and one server even kindly told me I spoke well, which I really appreciated because it means a lot to hear that from a native speaker. Everyone was pleasant, no one seemed impatient or uncaring. Tourists were treated as kindly as locals. Staff checked in a few times to see how everything was, including the owner (I think) who seemed genuinely pleased to hear that people were enjoying their food. I had the insalata normanna, which was an interesting mix of things i never would've thought to combine in one dish, but it worked very well. I thought the onion was a little overpowering but that was a minor detail. I then had the couscous Carlofortina which was also quite good. Both dishes were light yet still enough to make for a solid meal. Everyone raves about the chocolate cake, rightfully so because it was so good I got a second piece to bring with me. Get it with caramel and whipped cream. I'm not normally a caramel fan but i impulsively said yes when asked if i wanted it. this caramel tasted divine, not like it came from a jar. All the desserts are homemade too. The people seated next to me were talking about how delicious the panna cotta was. Places like these are what you'll remember months and years after your visit, and i hope to be able to come back soon. Grazie mille per tutto 😋🍽🩷

16/08/2026: Dinner at Trattoria Portixedda was a mixed bag. The staff was truly exquisite: courteous, very professional, and always available. The desserts, truly exceptional, and the mixed appetizers, very good, received top marks. The mixed fried fish was tasty, but the portion could have been a little more generous: a small detail that would have made the dish more satisfying and beautiful to look at. The wine by the glass, however, was a bit lacking. The only downside that lowered the 3-star rating was the seating on the enclosed veranda: the air conditioning couldn't cope, and we suffered from the heat throughout the dinner, compromising our comfort. With a little more attention to detail and air conditioning, the experience would have been 5-star.

15/08/2026: We ordered pasta with bottarga and clams, a steak, and mixed fish. Everything was delicious, fresh and high-quality. The service was very friendly. 100% recommended.

14/08/2026: A couple's dinner during our vacation in Alghero. Intrigued by the positive reviews, we tried it. The food was tasty and well-served, the welcome professional, discreet, and delicate, and the service attentive and fast. It's absolutely worth it. We had an appetizer (mussels), two first courses ((fregola paella (Top)), and two desserts—all excellent! Go there!

14/08/2026: The staff is young and dynamic, the service impeccable, but the food is a bit sparse, but good and well-prepared. The atmosphere is air-conditioned, only fans, and on a very hot evening, it's not ideal. The price is a bit higher than expected.

20/09/2025: A charming place, a little difficult to reach, especially at night as the roads aren't well-lit, but you get used to it. The hotel is well-maintained, in an elevated position that offers sweeping views of the coast and the hinterland. Breakfast features excellent local produce, including gluten-free options. The owner was incredibly kind, waiting for me until 2 a.m. due to a delayed ferry from Olbia. The rooms are clean and spacious. I hope to return; highly recommended for peace and quiet.

10/06/2025: We had lunch here after a visit to the caves. Great service and a good menu, we had grilled calamari and an octopus salad. Took great photos from the restaurant of the view.

08/06/2026: Mind you, this is a hotel!! There are about four rooms arranged in a terraced layout below the restaurant. Unfortunately, the hotel didn't inform us that an event with approximately 60-70 people was taking place there on Sunday, and that what felt like 50 children, playing and screaming loudly, not only used the upper levels for several hours, but also our garden served as a playground for teenagers playing with puppets and children playing ball. Breakfast was precisely portioned and wrapped in cling film. Each person received a yogurt, three small slices of bread, one croissant, three slices of cheese, three slices of mortadella, and some prosciutto (Crudo). Cappuccino and water were also provided. No fruit, no sweets, muesli, or anything similar. Dinner is in the higher price range; only the pizzas, while comparatively cheaper, weren't really up to par with what we'd had elsewhere on our trip. ... Only Italian is spoken, and on the last day the coffee machine wasn't working because someone urgently needed the cable for the party on Sunday. All in all, not a recommended place.

08/08/2026: It is okey. Nothing exceptional comparing to Sardinian standards you can find elsewhere. We had gnocchi and lamb ribs. Gnocchi was a bit tough (I love al dente - but this was a bit more than this..), lamb was over-grilled and chewing. Cold cuts and cheeses were good. It wan’t pricy. Also they have nice view.

05/08/2026: Laura and Leonardo are awesome! The rustic fresh food is bountiful and the cool summer mountain air in a friendly farm ambiance make a five star all the way!

24/06/2026: A fantastic experience at Siddi. We enjoyed a rich and truly delicious appetizer, with cheese, cured meats, and various fried vegetables, all prepared with great care. The first courses also won us over with their simplicity and deliciousness, especially those served with a generous meat sauce and a generous sprinkling of grated cheese. To round things off, we tried the sugar-coated dessert, which was out of this world. We'll definitely be back.

12/06/2026: I went to this place for the first time on my brother's recommendation. The place is very cute, the staff and the owner are really kind, and the food is excellent! The fish is very fresh, and you can even eat raw fish. I recommend everyone to stop by. You'll definitely be satisfied.

09/08/2026: The restaurant's breathtaking location is superb, overlooking the church in the small square in the heart of Iglesias' old town. With dishes like fregola, dorado, and other seafood, "Villa di Chiesa" perfectly represents Sardinian cuisine. I couldn't find a single negative point. Making a reservation is always a good idea, as the restaurant is usually very busy, and deservedly so.

07/08/2026: The service was terrible: they didn't even bring the drinks on time and served all the dishes except one, which arrived another 20 minutes late. To make matters worse, they took forever to bring the bill and didn't even have the decency to offer the delayed drink or dish; they showed no sign of any kindness or sense of responsibility, which says a lot about them.
