Taberna Santona In Sassari

When you dream of finding that one amazing restaurant while you're visiting Italy... you've found it, it's Taberna Santona. I walked in on a Friday evening not long after they opened. I'd read many great reviews and was nervous that the place would be fully booked, but to my surprise there was a choice of tables both inside and outside. All the staff spoke Italian with me and one server even kindly told me I spoke well, which I really appreciated because it means a lot to hear that from a native speaker. Everyone was pleasant, no one seemed impatient or uncaring. Tourists were treated as kindly as locals. Staff checked in a few times to see how everything was, including the owner (I think) who seemed genuinely pleased to hear that people were enjoying their food. I had the insalata normanna, which was an interesting mix of things i never would've thought to combine in one dish, but it worked very well. I thought the onion was a little overpowering but that was a minor detail. I then had the couscous Carlofortina which was also quite good. Both dishes were light yet still enough to make for a solid meal. Everyone raves about the chocolate cake, rightfully so because it was so good I got a second piece to bring with me. Get it with caramel and whipped cream. I'm not normally a caramel fan but i impulsively said yes when asked if i wanted it. this caramel tasted divine, not like it came from a jar. All the desserts are homemade too. The people seated next to me were talking about how delicious the panna cotta was. Places like these are what you'll remember months and years after your visit, and i hope to be able to come back soon. Grazie mille per tutto 😋🍽🩷

Very yummy Italian tapas. We tried every dish. The only one I didn't like was tribe, but I should have known that from the start. Not their fault at all. Highly recommended.

The location, the food, and the staff are excellent. We were delighted to discover local specialties prepared with passion. Thank you for the warm welcome and helpful advice; we will definitely be back!

Highly recommended 😁 We went there for lunch and tried some of the daily menu items in a sampler format. The dishes were all excellent. We ordered four samples for two, and they were more than enough. It's impossible not to mop up the bread! The place is very intimate and welcoming. You can eat both inside and outside. The staff is very kind and helpful. Highly recommended 😊

A wonderful discovery! We loved the restaurant's concept: several dishes to choose from (small or large portions), meant to be shared (like tapas). The food is simply delicious, and their menu changes every night! Sublime!

Tapas Style restaurant, the minimum would be 2 small orders (6€ each) OR 1 big order (12€) per person. I found the Tapas ok, my favorite would be the Aubergine gratine, the highlight however was definitely the Chocolate cake!!!!!! GIVE IT A TRY ⭐️

Always the best choice. Very authentic cuisine, lot of choices and you can take small portions to taste different plates. The food is fresh and the menu changes based on the season. Highly recommended!
