It's definitely worth it, and soon you'll be able to dine outside with a wonderful view of the sea and the stone bridge. In my opinion, the most beautiful place in Taranto.

19/05/2026: A welcoming place with friendly and helpful staff. The food is delicious and plentiful. The prices are fair; we spent €60 for two for fried calamari and shrimp, risotto, French fries, and two glasses of wine. Bread is on the house, and the cover charge is €2 per person. You don't have to book; there's plenty of seating, but I recommend the gazebo for a great view.

10/05/2026: We went for a hearty aperitif and then had dinner. Excellent, beautifully presented local produce is paired with freshly made focaccia. The simple outdoor seating is delightful, offering one of the most beautiful views of Grottaglie's historic center. The friendly and knowledgeable staff will be happy to recommend everything from aperitifs to after-dinner cocktails, including a wide selection of gins and a good glass of wine.

21/09/2025: A place to feel at home – highly recommended I spent a few days at La Giara Risto Relais and can wholeheartedly recommend my stay. As a woman traveling alone, it was especially important to me to feel safe and well cared for – and that was exactly the case from the very first minute. The room was exceptionally clean, tastefully furnished, and meticulously maintained. I also really appreciated the quiet, somewhat secluded location. Parking was available right next to the rooms. What made the stay truly special was the warmth of the hosts. The Italian mentality – open, warm, and familial – was palpable at all times. I felt welcome, safe, and completely at ease in every respect. If you're looking for clean, quiet accommodation with genuine Italian hospitality, this is the perfect place. I would love to return.

07/06/2026: Amateurs, if you book ten days in advance, you show up at the venue and they tell you there are no reservations. If we want, we can take the goods and eat outside. Because before we arrived, a bus had arrived, and they preferred to reserve the seats for them. Change jobs. 🤦🤦

17/12/2025: Lunch here was a regular stop when we were in the area on weekdays (since on holidays you have to book well in advance). Unfortunately, yesterday it didn't go very well... (Did the chef change?) The appetizers were prepared who knows how long ago, even the seafood linguine was nothing like the ones we've had the other times, the grilled vegetables were burnt, the fish was the same story, only the calamari was okay, the shrimp contained sand, the swordfish (Oceanico) tasted old. The black truffle tasted only of ice. And a stomach ache... We were hungry and we gulped down the ceca, we were actually asked at the cashier how it had gone, but to avoid controversy, we paid and left because we didn't want to ruin our day. Obviously we won't be back again.

14/12/2025: The appetizers were okay, but the mussels...sorry, I know a lot about fish...and they were dirty, salty, inedible. The waiters were very unfriendly. The pasta with the lentils was okay, but very salty. In the end, the owner didn't charge for the mussels. But no thanks. There are much better places in Italy to eat fresh fish.
