22/03/2026: Bar located in the central Via di Palma. Elegant and welcoming. Excellent coffee and pastries, and fast service. The owners are always available and cheerful. Definitely one of the best bars in downtown Taranto.

08/12/2025: The waiter was friendly and the aperitif was just right to accompany a nice gin... really excellent gin! Since we were outside, we were quite covered, and the patio heater did its job.

Everything is very retro, but the seafood dishes are exceptional and at the right price, which you wouldn't expect with that quality. Fresh dishes cooked to order with truly excellent quality in the choice of raw materials. Congratulations!

The hostess's kindness welcomes and pampers you with traditional dishes—some with a modern twist—and an excellent selection of wines, recommended by her based on your tastes and the menu you've chosen. The pizza is also excellent.

05/04/2026: Le Vecchie Cantine is one of those places where you know you're getting good pizza, a comfortable atmosphere, and a relaxing evening. The pizza, as mentioned, is good, with a wide selection. Draft and bottled beer, appetizers, and various sides are also available. The space is good because the place is free of other tables or crowds. However, I have to say that the quality (i.e., taste, composition, quantity) doesn't match the price. It's a good alternative to other places. There were 15 of us at the table, including 3 children. Not a top-quality experience.

08/04/2026: An excellent place for breakfast, aperitifs, and dinner, it offers fresh, quality products. I've always found everything delicious and pleasing to the palate, from appetizers to main courses and desserts. Definitely worth a try.

23/09/2025: It calls itself fast food, but it's far from fast food, and I'm not even talking about the quality, because unfortunately, I couldn't dine there due to the excruciating wait. As is customary, the "very friendly" lady with the clipboard and the "professional" owner were the ones to serve, with an estimated wait time of 20-30 minutes. Leaving aside the excruciating 1.5 hour wait, they prepared our table after repeatedly questioning the "warm" reception staff about the wait time, which was well beyond the estimated time. After we got our table, there was another 20-30 minute line to order, at which point the cashier, probably annoyed by the influx of people, informed us that we would have to wait approximately 1.5 hours to eat. Since the place isn't exactly known for estimating or adhering to timetables, I decided to leave, perhaps even rudely, due to the long wait and the lack of clarity from the staff. Just as I was telling the cashier to cancel my order, the owner (always the professional receptionist) arrived and started attacking me, accusing me of not understanding anything, especially about restaurants. He explained that since they're a FAST FOOD restaurant, they couldn't give me precise times and that given the high number of customers, there would be a long wait. At that point, I had to explain to the expert restaurateur the definition of fast food, which I thought everyone knew, especially restaurateurs, but I was wrong, having heard the highly knowledgeable owner's futile intervention. As I was leaving, I wanted to publicly review the experience I and the other eight members of the group had with those waiting, and there the capable owner of the fast food restaurant, in a threatening tone, ordered me to leave the public area in front of the restaurant, which I gladly did, not out of fear of him or one of his followers, but because it was 11:30 PM and I and the other members of the group had already been hungry for a while. That said, if you're craving a seafood FAST FOOD, I invite you to try established, well-run establishments, undoubtedly knowledgeable about the restaurant industry and the meaning of words, like "LA BAIA" in Torre Canne - Fasano (BR). They're definitely more professional and knowledgeable in the industry.

19/09/2025: Before reviewing, I decided to go for dinner twice... excellent sandwiches, filled with fresh ingredients and, above all, filling. Good fried food. Varied selection. Welcoming place. They welcome four-legged friends. Definitely coming back next summer.

19/12/2025: We ordered takeout and the experience was decidedly positive. The pinsas are truly delicious, especially the "Neviera," made with quality ingredients that you can taste at first bite (like the others). The meat was also excellent: tender and prime, cooked to perfection. The bombette were simply delicious. The beer selection was good, with a special mention for the COASTAL IPA, which I recommend. The selection of Apulian cured meats and cheeses was plentiful and well-stocked; paired with the "bianca" pinsa, it was a perfect choice. Overall, a bistro I highly recommend. Next time I'll definitely be back to eat inside and try the first and second courses.

14/12/2025: Everything was perfect, just one sore point… something you don't expect in the end, but which you deduce from some particular words, "you can't even touch the meat today"… price list to be reviewed ✍️ especially for friends 🤣🤣🤣…

15/07/2025: Locale trovato per caso perché in 7 amici non avevamo prenotato da nessuna parte. Bella location...raffinata all'interno e all'esterno. Il menù è per la maggiore di pesce, ma chiedendo alla titolare, si possono avere anche piatti di terra. Rapporto qualità/prezzo ottimi. Io ho mangiato un piatto di crudo eccellente. L'unico neo, se proprio devo trovare un difetto alla sera, è stata la Festa di battesimo di una bellissima bimba, che a mio avviso, andava fatta in una saletta a loro riservata. La musica ad alto volume e l'animazione del dj, ha tolto atmosfera al posto, impedendo anche una piacevole conversazione. Detto questo, ci ritornerei per assaggiare altro.

20/02/2026: Great bar, very good food, but the owners leave a lot to be desired. He smoked inside the bar, and when we came in to order, he was immediately rude. I won't be returning.

02/05/2026: We had a lovely evening at this restaurant. The food was very good and prepared to order, so there was a bit of a wait. The servers were very friendly. The only downside was the €10 bottle of water; it was a little expensive, but we could (should) have refused it.

01/06/2026: Excellent restaurant with thoughtful, clean, and welcoming decor. Suitable for both adults and children, with a rich and varied menu including appetizers, meat dishes, excellent pizzas, and much more. The prices are fair for the entire menu. I recommend it for a good dinner.

25/05/2026: We often come here on weekends, and this time we chose to have lunch for our daughter's confirmation. I must say, they never disappoint. Everything is perfect: the decor is elegant and well-kept, the food is always excellent and plentiful, and above all, Mamma Tonina's cooking is a master of gold. We were more than satisfied, as always, and thanks to all the staff, who are kind and make you feel at home.
